An expat? Oh, that’s just a fancier word for immigrant because when you move for a better life, more opportunities, safety, and a fresh start, it sounds more glamorous with the right label. But really, same journey, different name… just a thought. 💭 🤣
In theory, Expat is someone temporarily moving somewhere, and Immigrant is more long term. That's how it should be at least, and yeah mostly us Westerners use that terminology, but at the end of the day it's practically the same thing.
mostly expat used to call a foreign people work in high position or start their own business in other country (at least for indonesian case). many chinese, thailand, vietnam etc work in indonesia especially in fishing industry and we just call them migrant worker
Memang sebagian orang masih belum tau, jadi bisanya ya cuma mengira-ngira asal-asalan saja, mengenai populasi Indonesia, _bahwa sebenarnya populasi Indonesia yg sekarang ini sudah mencapai 300+ juta jiwa._
Great video. I do agree with Max that realising a plan B as a single or as a family are two distinctly different issues. A child does need to have a certain stability. A child needs to have it's own friends and have a chance how life changes, when staying in the same place over a certain amount of time. This is different for an adult. For the most cases an adult has made his experience with this already. Hence an adult is able to move on. Yet it's again different if you have a business. Having business typically limits your radius, as you will clearly be required to stay within the reach, so your clients can get to you.
Indonesia GDP is 16th and by GDP PPP is 7th largest. It grows steadily around 5% per year (not 2-3% as the speaker says), only slow down during covid. Not the largest growth but stable. I am surprised that you said European is slow, I though Indonesia are slower. Not that slow but rather easy going slow
I think he meant slow in terms of economy cuz the next thing he mentioned is bureaucracy that makes people hard and take time to build a business in Europe.
Umm, for you who didn't know where to go for your vacation, pleaseee go to Indonesia. There are so many places to explore from a busy city to a beautiful tropical nature with a lot of culture. If you wanted to build a business, investment, go to Indonesia. Everything is very cheap. Don't worry, you can live for a month with just $100 with our local product. It's that cheap, please help our economy😎👍.
@@Davidtiles Regarding those tourists with unruly behaviour. Never say that Bali is cheap etc etc because that way we will only attrack broke tourists who come here to commit crime.
Indonesia is "the middle of the world'... the paradise for tourist, western, latino, etc, u can life only less than 5 dollar in here, some indonesian can live only 1-2 dollar a day,.. Indonesian the paradise of best food, Rendang is number one in the world, but there are morethan 5.300 kind of food here, u never tired of Indonesian food. Indonesia also have 718 language, the diversity make us strong... we are all one.. FYI: Bali for indonesian more expensive than other javan island, try to life in Jogjakarta or Surakarta, u will know the difference...
Yeah, Bali is expensive, but it's a tourist trap that generates GDP for the country. One tiny pizza in a resort can cost over $20. Even the drinks and snacks in a regular shop there are not cheap. The only thing is if an adult foreigner truly wants to enjoy the low cost of living there, beyond just being a tourist, they need to be able to find a job and apply for work visa, which according to my friend, can prove to be difficult for them these days.
one thing I don't like about bali is that the toilets clogged quite often, and traffic is pretty in some areas. You can go by on a bike but with kids this can be a little tricky
I couldn't agree more with Denis about SeAsian countries ... geo-politically, SeAsian countries tend to stand in neutral position and 100% sure - not trying to be over confident here - Indonesia as the largest country in SeAsia will do whatever the country can do to maintain stability and security in the region as a non-aligned country, Indonesia tends to avoid being part of any block globally - Indonesia refused to join BRICS, refused to join any military organisations, refused to send arm forces to help a country in war, even Indonesia refused to acknowledge Hamas and only want to "fight" for Free Palestine in UN forums together with Fatah - peace talks and dialogs are way Indonesia usually does Learning from Cold War when SeAsia used to be the region of conflicts between US vs Soviet, todays SeAsians' leaders believe that neutrality, flexibility and balance is a key factor to maintain peace and stability in the region - they call it "the bamboo strategy" ... thus making SeAsian relatively safer compared to other regions, in term of geo-politic

Basically our democracy is pretty much dead, killed by the chinese lobby oligarch who serve china's interest first and foremost above anything else, our version of zionist aipac, elections are only formality. Thanx to our sold out traitor leaders, our beloved country is currently sold to china thru titanic foreign debt thats impossible to pay out fully like ever, even only the interest we are dyin to pay. The chinese oligarch lobbies in our country decide who will be the next president, ministers, governors, majors, generals, police chiefs, etc

Happy to watch this podcast. Thank you Max for bringing Denis into your podcast. I'm not often comment on social media but since Denis mention about sovereignty, Ray Dalio, New World Order, and buy Bitcoin-Ethereum, he definitely gets my attention since I like investing my money into crypto currency. I've been studying crypto currency since December 2017 and learning how the world works so I agree with Denis's perspective. I love peaceful place as well and for me peace of mind is one of the new wealth. For Max and Denis, I hope we can meet someday. Greetings from Solo, Central Java, Indonesia.

I just want to say " Indonesian love Uni Soviet ". It means we love Russia and Ex Soviet, we prefer silence about the civil war in Ukraine.
I wish more of you in Indonesia learn the language and start bussines here. I watched a video about a poor turkish guy sell kebab on the street and married Indonesian, he makes 25k us dollar in a month.

Maka, mulailah kita saling menghormati.

Why Indonesia is the Best Escape from the Western Chaos ❌❌❌
Why BALI is the Best Escape from the Western Chaos ✅✅✅
Bali is totally different compared to other cities in indonesia.. religion affects people behavior.. thank to hindu religion in bali…
I love bali, cant wait to go there again.
Papua lebih indah dari bali
Agree, Bali is very different from other islands in Indonesia, because of Hindu religion
Nah, its because you can dugem, and mabok only in bali Mr
A very good question and comprehensive answer about what the meaning of life..love that> Nice and insteresting video content. Thank you for sharing it. Lets keep up with more interesting video content. Greetings from Jakarta.
An expat? Oh, that’s just a fancier word for immigrant because when you move for a better life, more opportunities, safety, and a fresh start, it sounds more glamorous with the right label. But really, same journey, different name… just a thought. 💭 🤣
Agree. I think it’s just an expat is more flexible with moving from place to place compared to an immigrant.
In theory, Expat is someone temporarily moving somewhere, and Immigrant is more long term.
That's how it should be at least, and yeah mostly us Westerners use that terminology, but at the end of the day it's practically the same thing.
its not an immigrant cause you are legal=)) most of the migrants nowdays in europe are illegal like that guy said of spain
He is an immigrant.
mostly expat used to call a foreign people work in high position or start their own business in other country (at least for indonesian case). many chinese, thailand, vietnam etc work in indonesia especially in fishing industry and we just call them migrant worker
There is no way European have higher economic growth, most of their countries only grow at 1-2%.
@@colorfulflowers574 oh yeah maybe, I thought he said European people are slow
Most of Europe has lesser than 5%, even the US is way under that, because their economy has already matured and rate of growth will plateau.
So I said something right and my comment was deleted. 😂
@Blu3sky21 how?
@@Davidtiles Regarding those tourists with unruly behaviour. Never say that Bali is cheap etc etc because that way we will only attrack broke tourists who come here to commit crime.
Just a small correction, Indonesia economic growth is currently steady around 5%/year not 2-3%.
Based on government number.

Very small issues relative to what the West faces
Please ensure that Bali remains peaceful. Let's keep any chaos away from this beautiful place. 🙏
As Indonesian, this is strange. While i exhausted want to escape from here.

Actually based on taste atlas survey, Indonesia's foods is one of the most delicious in the world.
I think the same about Switzerland, and it is even smaller !
I couldn't agree more with Denis about SeAsian countries ... geo-politically, SeAsian countries tend to stand in neutral position
and 100% sure - not trying to be over confident here - Indonesia as the largest country in SeAsia will do whatever the country can do to maintain stability and security in the region
as a non-aligned country, Indonesia tends to avoid being part of any block globally - Indonesia refused to join BRICS, refused to join any military organisations, refused to send arm forces to help a country in war, even Indonesia refused to acknowledge Hamas and only want to "fight" for Free Palestine in UN forums together with Fatah - peace talks and dialogs are way Indonesia usually does
Learning from Cold War when SeAsia used to be the region of conflicts between US vs Soviet, todays SeAsians' leaders believe that neutrality, flexibility and balance is a key factor to maintain peace and stability in the region - they call it "the bamboo strategy" ... thus making SeAsian relatively safer compared to other regions, in term of geo-politic
Thank you! Make sense
Indonesia refused to join BRICS? now Indonesia has joined BRICS
When I hear in last part that you are writing book ( that’s why I said you r have many experience in life and it’s feel we have same thoughts)…thank you for sharing ur thoughts and ur experience Mr Denys dovgal

Regarding traffic jam in Bali, government has already planned on building MRT, groundbreaking at September 2024. It would be a long while before we get the MRT running, first phase is around 2028, phase 2 around 2031.

I recommend for westerners who want to live in Indonesia to choose IKN, the red carpet has been provided. Please occupy Indonesian land for more than 100 years. This is all legal because it has been facilitated by the Indonesian government. Don't move to Java or Bali because it is getting denser and more crowded.

Looks like he's fascinated with Bali, which is good. But Bali and Indonesia as he said..the former is part of the latter! Please if you can, travel to another part of Indonesia. Generally we are nice people, especially to tourist, to the point of admiring them in the villages. The purity of (most) people Indonesian is admirable. Try go to the beautiful villages from another island. They will touch your heart even more.
No conflict in the region wow Burma .
Indonesia population more than 283 Millions now.
Interesting perspective comparing Bali/Portugal, I do think "chill/simple life" cancels out "lazy/bureaucracy", neither compounds allude to an efficient business environment. Also, would argue crypto is at the mercy of an exchange's liquidity just without the same rigor as it relates to capital requirements/controls.
Hey Max, do you use the right VISA to work as documenter in Indonesia? Just wondering
depend on your documentary type. to make a documentary without interaction with local authority (travel, food, culture documentary etc) you can use visa on arrival. you still can interview regular people but not authority
if you want to interact with local authority for interview to explain something you want to know (business development, archeology, history documentary etc) you must have business / working visa
