  • Today we're visiting one of the last remaining parts of Rosherville Gardens, a large Victorian era pleasure garden constructed in a disused chalk pit in Gravesend, Kent.
Rosherville Gardens was a very popular tourist destination at the time with people visiting from all around the UK. Within the gardens were numerous attractions including a Hermit cave, Bear pit, Maze, Botanical garden and Archery range.
The section we are visiting today is what remains of the entrance staircase that was carved into the chalk cliff, leading down from the main road into the gardens itself.
Hope you enjoy the video and until next time, happy exploring.

Thank you, it's comments like this that keeps us releasing the videos. All the camera work and editing is all down to Stumpy so he has to have the credit, I'm just the silly face on screen lol

Thanks for this. The best footage I have seen of this feature.
Shame it can't be incorporated into the new development taking place there.
Shame more of the Gardens were not saved.
    Great video .

Thank you for the comment, we try our best with every site we go to as to be able to show them off the best we can and give them the time they deserve.
You would have thought they could have used it as an access to the top road as what is left of it is still very structurally sound and looks stunning.
      Hope you enjoy future releases.
