Today we're visiting the last remaining section of the Bevans Cement Works, a historically important location in the Gravesham area of Kent.
This section had been buried for many years until it was recently uncovered by the ongoing housing development taking place. The newly exposed area consists of several above ground kilns, along with tunnels below them to dispose of the waste material.
In our last video we looked around the bottom section consisting of the Kiln waste tunnels that were converted into Air Raid Shelters during World War 2. In this video we revisited the site during the day and explored what remains of the upper section and the kilns themselves.
