  • Our next adventure takes us to New Tavern Fort in Gravesend, joined by Jay Curtis from Thames Defence Heritage who shows us some of the fascinating areas of the fort and it’s magazine tunnels usually closed to the public for an exclusive tour. We also get a look inside Milton Chantry within the fort grounds. Many of our releases recently have been of our new hands-on vlog style, but here we return to our classic professional TV documentary style, running through the history of the fort and its alterations.
Note: The song in the cinematic interlude was recorded in 1906; contemporary to when the fort was modified into its current form
    Filmed with the Lumix GH4

This is my hometown and I've only been into the tunnels as a kid so it's really cool to see it again!!

I worked down those tunnels as a tour guide in 87. No mention of the ghost that's meant to haunt them I notice

Still can't get it where are the subs and views? These 2 guys are working great job.I saw a dude with million of subs and he is doing "exploration" videos, all he do is giggling with his idiotic friends until something (a random mouse) scares them and they run away. You need a colab videos to move you a bit further.Yes,this is more like a documentary, not a typical YT exploration videos which obviously kids prefer, but still deserve lot more views.

Thanks Bob appreciate the words. Please do recommend and share our stuff to get it out there! Agreed there is a lot of rubbish exploring videos out there now, unfortunately urbex has gone a bit mainstream and there’s a lot of content out there that doesn’t appreciate the history. Totally agree about our documentary style not necessarily being the most showy but the less clickbait the better, weve been doing a few vlog style videos to try and show more of the exciting hands-on side to the adventures but hopefully our different style is what sets us apart and hopefully it will pay off one day! We’ve got some collabs lined up for this year so stay tuned...

@@BeyondthePoint A nice look at the fort, however Liam, when you were talking to Jay, you looked totally bored and didn't even look at him. Nice history though - what part is open to the public and when?

cynical1952 Fair enough, any criticism is useful. I can say that I certainly wasn’t bored although it can be difficult knowing what to do and where to look when on camera but not talking. Check their Facebook page Thames Defence Heritage for magazine opening times. The above ground fort is part of a public park always open

A well informative video, well put together with excellent narration. A breath of fresh air from those awfully bad executed videos full of meaningless ramble.
