    Yes I am watching! 302 Chevrolet or 327 Chevrolet will be perfectly acceptable alternatives. Short stroked, over square, over cammed and over carbureted!!! Old skool over the top Bud!!! Seriously any direction you decide is going to be great! Glad to see a fresh video. Looking forward to seeing those front and rear modifications!

    think they have ls1 conversion kits for the s10 frame
    a LS1 4.8 and 5.3 liter would already be a handfull for the weight of car youre having and shouldnt cost all that much (people want the bigger 6.0 ones) , can put the 4L60E in it too and have 4 gears and a little better milage and the 5.3 can make awesome power with junkyard parts and a turbo , its been done a gazillion times allready
    the V5 from the s10 / camaro isnt a bad engine either , if you just want only a little more oompf in youre daily driver that could be an option , might fit a little better and have less heat issues too , a turboed honda 4 cilinder from a rear wheel drive would be a nice powerhouse too

    • @pissedoffpistongarage
      @pissedoffpistongarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is so many engine swaps that I have considered including an LS and a Honda engine making it rear wheel drive. I’ve even really considered putting in a 283 SBC and having fun with that. But I have ultimately decided that I am going to be swapping in a Pontiac 3.8 L supercharged from a front wheel drive car. I have a rear wheel drive transmission that will bolt right up to it. Other people have done similar swaps in their S tens and they love them.

      @@pissedoffpistongarage might want to look intoo the whole fourth gen camaro as a donor aspecially if it comes with the fuelinjection gearbox / automatic headers exhaust front accesorydrive startermotor and all the little stuff you need to convert the fwd motor to rwd ,you might even need to use the whole engine wiring loom of that
      i done a conversion on 'a" car from a 1.6 to a 2.0 injection , they where both front wheel drive cars of the same brand and type so it wasnt as hard as swappin g bodies or putting in a fwd engine in a rwd casr , everything crossed over from a standard to a stationwagon too , a lot of fun actually figuring out wat to use from wat car to make things work
      i missed the inlet duct ,as the guy i bought the donor from used an aftermarket cone filter and messed up the maf sensor , since it was sumting unusual i had to buy a lot of the parts new at the dealer and the total cost of the inlet ducting added together was as mush as the purchase price of the donor vehicle i used for the engine and interior (have to say though that cars in the netherlands are a LOT cheaper , like 250 to 800 euro for a 15 year old running car cheap )

    Excellent project I like the look and I like to dependability is that a 5-speed or an automatic? Did you keep the ac? And thank you so much for doing it if I get my health back in order this is what I wanted to build I want to build something that just looks good does its job but doesn't look like a showroom trailer Queen. Thank you and best regards, Bob from Virginia USA

    • @pissedoffpistongarage
      @pissedoffpistongarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the kind words Bob! These are definitely my favorite comments to read. To answer your questions, I went with the five speed of course. I love driving manuals and could never live with myself if I put an automatic in it. I deleted the AC for two reasons though. The main reason was I am going to be turboing it very soon. As a matter fact I am finishing up buying the stuff I need this week. And because of the turbo location I had to delete the AC compressor. Not to mention my AC didn’t really work to begin with. I know I could’ve put some money into it and made it work but it wasn’t worth it to me. Also, I forget what part of the AC system it is called but where it sits up against the firewall I believe it is called the condenser. Basically what makes the air pass-through the cool freon to make it cold if that makes any sense. That stuck way up past the towel of the Corvair. So I would not have been able to close my hood. You could in theory modify your hood to make it fit but it just wouldn’t look good in my opinion. I don’t think I ever addressed it in any of the videos however you might be able to see it in some of the videos right after I put the body on the frame. Actually, Watch my how to make a cowl induction hood. You can probably see it there. I hope that made some sense. Also recently I just ended up getting the last piece to the AC delete I needed which was a factory AC delete box on non-AC S 10s They are very hard to come by and when you do find them very expensive. I saw one on eBay going for $300. I lucked out like crazy and found one that my friend gave to me for free! So now when you open up the hood it looks like a factory AC delete s 10. Yes I will admit it gets a little hot but nothing some wing windows won’t help with. I hope your Health gets back so you can do a build like this as well! It’s a lot of fun! Nope it is not a garage kept show room trailer queen. I drive this thing rain or shine, night or day. And take it down gravel roads. I drive her hard and she takes every bit of it. Worth every headache and penny!
