      The Ironic thing is that German cars will offer the same level of luxury for far more money but not be as reliable yet people will turn their noses up at the American produced cars that are more reliable than the Germans and offer more luxury and be cheaper as well.
      American cars are not as reliable as the Japanese but are cheaper but are better than the Germans. But yet every car critic out there will claim the Germans are more superior and are class leading.
      I do truly get the Mercedes S class and its price but many of the other options I do not get.

    • @angrysocialjusticewarrior
      @angrysocialjusticewarrior 5 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      @@nevansanford1635 Those are short-term ratings. If you keep the Mercedes for 10 years, you will have no choice but to throw it away or sell it to a junk yard. With Lexus, it would not be surprising to reach 1 or 2 million kilometers on the original engine and transmission.

      LOL serve your car right and you not going to have any issues + you gonna spend more money on Lexus, cuz you have to change your oil every 5.000 miles (Mercedes and BMW every 15.000 miles), filters every year (for Mercedes and BMW - 50/65,000 miles) and bunch of other shit much much often vs to Germany cars. AND if you gonna buy a new or certified preowned car you'll receive a totally free maintenance for 7 years/unlimited miles. Unfortunately. Toyota can't afford it, it's just too much for them... So what's the point to drive the slow and cheap material car and pay money for every shit? I had a Lexus before, they know how to make a good looking cars. but for me. they are too bored.

      Lexus might be cheaper when it comes to repair. But I think it’s not really cheap at all. It need oil change every 5000 mile while say my Audi every 10000 mile. In general lexus now a day cost at least 40k average in my opinion and I got my A4 for 38k. Even I will agree lexus cost less to repair but in total it is like you prepay the price in the form of a more expensive car of lexus. I wanted to buy a ES for 42 k but I am budget sensitive so I chose German for 38k. Even after 50000 miles the warranty limit I may just spend a few thousand at worst to repair but in the case for lexus I might have in the beginning paid a few thousand more in advance for the price tag. Just my opinion...I drove lexus sometime I found it is not comparable to German in terms of comfort and performance. People make their choice.

    I test drove an ES the other day after seeing it in print. I can truly say the car must be seen to be appreciated. It is stunning! I was thoroughly impressed and even a bit surprised with all aspects of the driving experience. The car is a true winner! Super tech-heavy without being tech tacky. I have owned 5 Lexus's (is that the correct plural ?) over the years and I think this new ES is a reach back to the very root of the Lexus ethos...supeior quality, luxury, tremendous attention to the slightest detail, outstanding value, great engines, and second to none reliability. I may get one this week!

    I own this car and I have had German luxury cars in the past, also. It's difficult to compare this to any German luxury car because they are very different vehicles in nearly every way. German cars typically handle much better than Lexus and give the driver a great feel of the road. When I was younger this was important to me. Now I am a little older and all I want is quiet. Like "leave me the fuck alone, and I don't want to hear your shitty music, your aftermarket exhaust, you fighting with your girlfriend or yelling at your kids, and I sure as all fuck don't want to smell your cigarettes/weed/flatulence or whatever else seeps from your clunker" . If you feel this way about your driving experience, by all means get a Lexus. Serenity is a button click away as you close off the world, listen to the beautiful sound system and glide away from any drama in total comfort and security. This is Lexus and it is worth EVERY PENNY.

    I LOVE Lexus!! At 21 I bought a ‘99 323i..had it for 8months then switched to a 2014 Lexus IS 250 for a 3 year lease. Unfortunately I was young & didn’t understand the responsibility of credit( late payments 30-60 days late + a repo & redeem on the Lexus) end of my 3 year lease , they wanted nothing to do with me to lease another lol smh...(I was shooting for the 2017 ES BEFORE they changed the body) I went & got a co signor & everything but they still didn’t want me on the contract...
    I ended up settling for a 2017 fucking Honda Accord Sprt that I hate becuz it drives NOTHING like my Lexus...I hope to get in 350 ES BEFORE or WHEN this Honda lease is up !

    I don't need any label of 'luxury' on a car I drive just as long as the ride is very comfortable and the noise is very quiet. This includes smooth shifting. There are a handful of less expensive, excellent cars in these regards.
    I would think a Lexus ES350 or other luxury car would have additional qualities, such as premium and plush interior, very good acceleration and above average handling. It's hard to get a combination of supreme handling with comfortable ride, so clearly there has to be compromise on one or both. Also, I think luxury cars would use several technological cutting edge features such as dynamic cruise control, lane assist, blind spot vehicle warning and similar. Finally, I want parts to last. Obviously there are some luxury cars with horrible reliability, though.

    Doesn’t it have a blind spot monitor with LEDs on the side mirrors to help avoid the abdominal workouts? We just bought a UX with this feature included.

    Are Lexus Hybrids reliable enough? The NX 300h and RX 450h are pretty popular here in the Philippines (they claim at 20% of the buyers of those crossovers opt for the hybrids), but I'm not sure about the long-term reliability.

    I think the hybrid version might just be the ultimate LA commuter. Comfy for ALL those freeway traffic jams. Efficient for ALL those freeway traffic jams. Decent tech with adaptive cruise for ALL those freeway traffic jams. Just fast enough to join, merge and stop traffic pushing in on ALL those freeway traffic jams.
