  • The Lexus ES sedan is one of the best selling vehicles for Lexus. Sedans aren't gone yet and the ES is proof of that. We discuss what makes the Lexus ES great and what can be done in the future to help improve the sales. See my Lexus RX video here: • Why The Lexus RX SUV i...
    I have done several reviews on the Lexus ES like the ES 350, ES 300h, and previous models and I believe the ES is one of the best cars you can buy new or used. The quality of the drive as well as the interior puts it in near-flagship levels of quality. If you are an owner of the ES, let me know what you like and don't like about the car.

      i've owned several new vehicles and the es350 has the most uncomfortable seats i've set on. the interior needs better material and road noise is too pronounced. the dealerships need to stop charging for things you're not getting, such as processing fee, nitrogen, and etc.

    Coming from a 2015 5 series BMW I can confirm the ES as been the best most reliable luxury car I have owned. I am almost three years with my 2019 ES and the reliability and comfort are outstanding. The previous German monstrosity I owned needed a sensor repaired every year, even though it was covered by my warranty the car had to be in the dealer many times and it was very frustrating. The ES is the best choice if you don't want want to deal with car issues down the road.

    I purchased a new 2022 ES and love it. I read quite a few reviews first and yours was very helpful. One big reason is the V6 runs on regular gas and with the current gas prices that is a big deal. This car is so comfortable and just a pleasure to drive. The windshield wipers are silent in fact the whole car is quiet. Much better quality than my 5 series. Thanks for the reviews I enjoy them.

    Love mine! Quite, powerful, comfortable and reliable. Dealer network is very good and my dealer (Northtown Lexus, Amherst NY) is an 11 on a scale of 1-10. ES holds value, and if maintained correctly they will drive on long after the German sedans are recycled! On road trips getting 34-37 MPG and 22-23 around town and I have a lead foot. Roomy and serene, with great features for the $$. Yes infotainment is a bit unusual but I find it works from for me. My wife’s BMW X5 2019 has touch screen but a lot of her tech is problematic too. I love mine and am thankful every time I use the ES 350!

    The greatness of the ES cannot be overstated in terms of low LS sales...LS was a dream car for many but hard to justify the extra 40k for “materials and minor trunk increase???” Great vid Kevin!!!!

      @350zlover2 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The previous LS models in my opinion were one of the nicest quality vehicles in the world. Workmanship was top notch and the engines were silky smooth and built to last. The model that is out now is not the same vehicle.

    • @350zlover2
      @350zlover2 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @theory816 Facts, one of the main reasons I don't like the new LS is it doesn't have the V8 engine anymore. This new v6 turbo gave this car a whole new character.

    • @farmerlister3863
      @farmerlister3863 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have 20 RX and 21 ES at home. I was considering the LS but I did not like the fact that it combines the ECVT and 4 speed auto - shifting was obscure. I would ho for LS should there be v6 / hybrid like the one in RX (perhaps with turbo for extra weight). But dollar for dollar, ES is 100% better daily driver with around 60% of consumption LS has. Still love LS for its posture, but the businessman in me said NO this time :D. The RX is the best of the lineup, but I dont like the looks that much. My wife loves it though.

    • @farmerlister3863
      @farmerlister3863 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will add, that I had my interior door pannels refitted by the dealer. Squeeked a bit. That was a bit unexpected and one could say embarrassing. ES that was. RX is dead solid machine. Well, its the generation older car so thats that.

      I think you'd be very impressed with the driving demeanor of the new one. The 2019 marked the first all-new platform for this car since basically '92, and it's a much more modern car with a stiffer chassis that allows better steering and handling without degrading the ride quality.

Ride good but just a tad firm w/18" rims for my bad back. Getting into the car could be easier but height not likely to be increased.

    From what I read behind the rear seat is like an X shaped steel support which sort of makes sense because the car is so solid. If they were to re-design that and open that up maybe the car won’t be as solid ? Love the exterior of the 2020/21 redesign. Definitely more sleeker. That, a touch screen, wireless CarPlay, European spec rear seat controls, and interior light options would complete this car.

    Purchasing the ES 350 in a couple of weeks. Not sure if I should step up to the luxury pkg. or stay with the base as it’s more than adequate. We want a powerful, smooth, quiet sedan, no turbo, & there is nothing competing with the ES in my estimation. In terms of quality, reliability, cost of repair, longevity, resale, rear seat room & a V6 I simply cannot find another car that matches up. The only other sedan I’d consider is an Acura & they’re out of the game simply because they lack a V6. We have no interest in an SUV & FWD is fine, we get lots of snow & ice.
    I would have been very interested in the IS if it had a bit more rear seat room, however; As it stands now, it’s a little tight.

    What they should probably do to position their cars in general better is invest in developing class leading infotainment and everything else digital, try to be as original and inventive there as in pure car making. And I don't mean the gimmicky stuff, like covering the interior with LEDs or projecting the Lexus logo on people but the basics done right, a rock solid app, locking/unlocking, class leading screen projection, functionalities people actually need and will use. And some they might not need but love, like OTA updates, people love those, it makes them feel better about their product. This is getting more and more important and these days a car can age very quickly just because its digital stuff makes it look so outdated, resolution not high enough, brightness too low, bezels too large.

    Lexus should've thrown in the rav4 prime powerplant in the es
    The es250 is just a instant cash grab in my opinion, could have been far more better with the plug in hybrid

      @@joskjj3625 agree but Toyota is already having a hard time keeping up with the demand for the RAV4. Hopefully in the next few years they can workout these issues because the Prime power train is perfect.

    Lexus need to bring out the es F Sport hybrid to the US market that's the only way I'm buying

    ES sits in a lone segment in the luxury market. It's not a direct treat to 5-series or E-Class because of that FWD platform. Plus it's a mid-level management staple. In my 20s or 30s, this would not have been on the radar. Now in my 50's... it's a distant 5th, very distant. Lexus needs to keep pushing it as a stepping stone to the LS and market towards early retirees

      That is correct my friend yea Idk what they're going to do for the next gen they may go backwards and only put a 4 cylinder turbo in it we shall see tho but this current one has truly closed the gap with the LS by a lot
