Let’s be honest. You couldn’t afford a $26,000 booster box anyway. Just because some broke guy doesn’t like vintage really doesn’t change anything for everyone else.
Caveat empor is law. Buyer beware, do your own dilligence, court will put a LOT of the onus on the buyer. Theres really no legal remedy after the fact you can ever really count on.

Come on , they waited a year to open it , how do u even know its the same box? I wouldnt refund someone after a year an neither would you rattle . Stop it
I’m not gonna act like I know either way but all I thought was what if they opened the box/ resealed it to open on camera and get refunded while keeping the product
Does anyone know are they still printing staff promo cards? I got the Vivid voltage staff promo charizard way back when cuzbi heard it would be the last. Then apparenlty there was a very small run for the next set. Then I've been busy since what's the word? I paid more for it than what it's selling for currently but hope it will be hot in 20 years.
I'm no expert so pardon any ignorance, but what prevents the person who opened the box on video to have opened and resealed the product themselves prior and then blame it on the seller? Is there a way to audit something like that?
How can it be proven that this was the same box the buyer purchased? It can’t. Asking for a $26k refund with some little cardboard fill in box and shrink wrap logo alignment as proof after almost a year, just seems insane to me. Oh yeah, it all checks out, here’s $30k. The original seller has no idea if the box was swapped or not. Man, this sucks all the way around.
Looking at this from a legal standpoint.....pokatrav will win in court. Why you might be asking....he has one simple defense: "I told the buyer to check this item before purchasing. The buyer checked and was happy that it was original sealed. The buyer then paid me. It looks like the buyer then off camera could have opened it, messed with it, and resealed the box. The buyer then could have started the live stream to "validate" his claim by opening the box the buyer resealed". Sadly, either side could be telling the truth. The buyer has more of a reason to lie because they not only get the goods from the box but a full refund. That is why the judge will have to cut in favor of the defense. Remember, the buyer is responsible for checking and making sure THEY are comfortable with the purchase. We are all human and sometimes make mistakes, so it's not that the seller is a scammer....to them it looked good when they purchased. Only trust your own knowledge!
1:45 unless you say no refunds thenbyeah dont spend the money. If you say no refunds then go ahead spend that shit its on them to ring their post office its all you can do. Theres not much you can do other than ring your own post office but once its sent its sent. Sure ebay never release the money until the item is delivered
This shouldn’t count as a refund. You need to film the opening of the box it was shipped in to verify it was the same box. This could have easily been another box. This company has loads of 1st Ed Neo….
So, he cannot refund first before he get refunded first from the guy he bouge-t-il it from? Who says that he is not the one who got the sealed new box? Sounds like a good excuse to me. He would says that he is not the only one to do it, it would be the same.

It can prevent some but also adds different avenues for fraud. CT could confirm reseals but scans can be faked, reseals could include lesser condition cards from that set, makes the packs mappable, etc...
Yeah, but imagine the person scanning YOUR pack likes the lugia alt art he sees and sends you back a sealed pre-scanned silver tempest pack and keeps yours. How would you know the difference. Ct scanning is a scummy easy way to scam 😂
@@guttergadgetzz6193 I’m talking about a third party that does a service to eliminate fraud. The whole purpose of the company is to catch fraud. If that company decides to steal then they would get sued, no?
It might eliminate the fraud, but dont you also think it would cause more issues? If someone scanned it that costs some money. If the packs are real then you have two options that are awful that people would capitalize on. 1. The packs are real, and now you know which have the hits. - That person sells the ones that are duds, and comes out on top, but meanwhile everyone else has to buy packs in excitement only for the seller to know they are duds. 2. The packs are fake which means that the only way to know for sure is to open it EVEN AFTER it comes back. An honest person would probably just recuperate his losses, but what happens to the not so honest? They sell it for alot of money, and the cycle continues. Both of these outcomes is horrible, and I honestly dont think CT scanning should be used unless the seller CT scans the item IMMEDIATELY AFTER its bought. Liked an in-person scan or something. Any reason not to should raise red flags immediately. They probably dont have things like this yet, but it needs to be done.
This is tough since they waited a year to open. While you would want them to make it right there is also always the chance it got swapped out since they waited a year before verifying the contents. So i feel bad for the buyer but also understand why poketrav pushed back. Just too much time has passed. I unfortunately feel like this is going to be a huge problem when people start inspecting sealed product they bought second hand especially in the pokemon boom around the pandemic. Man that sucks for all involved here as unless you can for sure track down the source of where it turned into a scam then someone is getting stuck being out of $26k
I dont know why Pokemon company doesnt change the way booster boxes are now. I understand that vintage booster boxes can be faked but why hasnt the pokemon company come up with some new way to protect current booster boxes? Im sitting here thinking that if they created a booster box with some color strips that turn a different color when it hits oxygen when the shrink wrap is opened or some other way to create other layers of protection against fraud... We all know that 20 years from now current sets might be in the multiple thousands for booster boxes... Just thinking 🤔
Bruh its been a whole fucking year and they never ever bothered to even just wrap their eyes on the box to confirm it was legit??? $26,000 is no small change, I would be all over the box to make sure it was legit, even from a 1000% trusted source. Always gotta gotta check. It doesn’t cost anything… the seller(alex) is at fault after a WHOLE year.

can Rattle, and all of you other TH-cam lawyers stop using the word fraud. If someone intentionally sold this as a sealed 1st edition then that is fraud. Not saying it was poketrav that did the fraud but whoever did the actual repacking is the one that committed fraud. Unknowingly selling something fraudulent isn't committing fraud. So as long as Poketrav wasn't involved in that part then he didn't commit fraud

The lost in the mail thing is not true USPS will tell you that they will track it and they will they def try to help you but like in my case which I’m a diecast collector bought a large expensive shipment from a very very high praised seller that made it to a USPS distribution center in Alabama was seen on camera then vanished I was stuck for the entire bill there was a price amount that if you are over they take care of it I believe but my 900 dollar package that was 11 cars was not expensive enough to be covered thankfully 2 days later the same gentleman called me back package was in Lexington Ky and then I received it 3 days later it can be a struggle sometimes I can only imagine 26,000 dollars worth of electric mice cards disappeared I would have had a stroke
this is why i dont buy anything older i just buy the modern stuff
I feel this I bought a mega gengar off whatnot seller used legit pics of it when we talked then when it arrived in the mail it was an obvious fake wrong color it was so dark the blue was almost purple. Thank god I got my money back but why scam for $20 lol it wasn’t even that much I spent
that wrap was plasticy not soft and im sure trav or any poke master would be able to tell just by touch
Vintage is dead to me!
Have to be very careful!
do u even have the resources to get into vintage
@@MegaLolcade I have some resources yes but not enough to be screwed over by taking the risk. At this point I’ll just stick to opened vintage singles.
@@MegaLolcadewhat resources would you even need? It’s a collectible card game. Lmfao.
Let’s be honest. You couldn’t afford a $26,000 booster box anyway. Just because some broke guy doesn’t like vintage really doesn’t change anything for everyone else.
That “authenticity guarantee” statement is going to cost him dearly…🤦♂️🤦♂️
I guess it is one upside of the CT scanners
Honestly the buyer is at fault no matter what, he should of done his through research about the box whether it was real or fake.
Caveat empor is law. Buyer beware, do your own dilligence, court will put a LOT of the onus on the buyer. Theres really no legal remedy after the fact you can ever really count on.
This is why I quit magic the gathering
Back of the 90s and early 2000s we didn’t have nearly as much as this bull crap
You could actually buy the real stuff
Now everything’s considered fake
Everything is considered a scam that’s worth money
People can buy the glue, the shrink wrap machines the logos
And so what ends up happening is most of the vintage stuff and high value stuff goes to a top 10% group
Who all trade with each other
Come on , they waited a year to open it , how do u even know its the same box? I wouldnt refund someone after a year an neither would you rattle . Stop it
I’m not gonna act like I know either way but all I thought was what if they opened the box/ resealed it to open on camera and get refunded while keeping the product
This is were ct scanning comes in handy when making a big purchase
Does anyone know are they still printing staff promo cards? I got the Vivid voltage staff promo charizard way back when cuzbi heard it would be the last. Then apparenlty there was a very small run for the next set. Then I've been busy since what's the word? I paid more for it than what it's selling for currently but hope it will be hot in 20 years.
Yes, they are still making Staff Pre-Release cards.
They stopped and restarted.
They stopped for awhile
@@RattlePokemon well I guess that should still help the value a little. I have 2 really nice ungraded charizards. Charizard or bust I always say.
I'm no expert so pardon any ignorance, but what prevents the person who opened the box on video to have opened and resealed the product themselves prior and then blame it on the seller? Is there a way to audit something like that?
The wrap being identical in the opening to the previous photos taken by the seller.
Legit concern. Got to have good documentation.
Man, this sucks all the way around.
lets scan it to see if its real?! wow. sealed is sooooo cooked.
They said they got a refund today, it’s all been cleared up
Looking at this from a legal standpoint.....pokatrav will win in court.
Are you a lawyer?
You are 100% correct sir.
He is actually right Pokatrav stands very strong in this!

Since this happened via internet wouldnt this count as a cyber crime and the FBI can be involved? Just curious.
This made me think of something rly slimey and shady. What if someone buys a real box from a reputable seller. Then gets home, breaks open the box, takes the packs out, puts the newest packs in like scarlet violet era, seals it all back up and makes it look nice. Then goes live on stream and does a breaking of the box and acts like it's a fake box.
I think you're underestimating how hard it would be to make sure the wrap and logos are identical on a reseal.
Ur 100% correct. Tbh I noticed when he took the knife to the celafane wrap *I think that's how u spell that word* it seemed thin, not loud when it crinkled and he took it off. It's more like the wrap on a pack of cigarettes rather than that of a ziploc sandwich baggie feel.
Dude, the camera drop brought the product off screen just long enough for extra shenanigans. You can’t trust any if this crap anymore. Esp rip and ship Jboy 69ers.
You can see the resealed contents before the camera drop.
If you want vintage then buy modern off of the pokemon center then wait 20 years 😂
Kind of sketchy the camera topping over right after unwrapping the box. Easily could have swapped boxes off camera 🧐
Everyone's judging the seller, but what if the streamer resealed it?
I hate to dunk on these guys but it only makes sense the guys who get ripped off also don't notice no First Edition logos.
He didn't sound that shocked plus the choice of words that he used. I think that
he switch them out.
Avoid vintage booster boxes. Plus no refund
Yes most fake Pokemon cards are shipped from china! Even on eBay 🤯
To many scams if you are willing to to spend 26k don’t be stupid and buy sealed buy slabs

Poketrav did wrong, you can't deny that.
The ct scanning can eliminate all the fraud in the hobby, sucks they don’t see the benefits.
CT should have been used for authentication, never for hit previews.
What if the person who opened the box actually resealed it?
Sounds like Poketrav either knew it was fake or he doesn't have the funds to pay it back. No honor there

@@Zuppigaming same. I seen that and would like to know what went on
This is tough since they waited a year to open.
They need to sue PokeTrav. It doesn't really matter if he knowingly sold fake packs or not. He still has to send them a refund.

Fraud requires intent. fraud is a criminal charge and unless the state decides they can without a reasonable doubt prove that the seller knowingly and intentionally sold a fake product it’s a civil case at best. You can’t just decide Something is fraud because you got ripped off.
