My 11 year old daughter and 7 year old son are getting into pokémon cards so i figured i would educate myself so i can help them collect and learn what’s what. I’m actually starting to get into it more then i expected. i appreciate the artwork and enjoy looking at the art a lot. 😊
My son started being interested in pokemon cards last year at school from his friends. He kept asking me to buy him some cards. I don't know anything about trading cards. I just know there's a cartoon on TV that I used to watch. There's a pokemon club at his school that I told him to join to learn and find out how to play. This year for his birthday I bought him a gift set and a binder to put them in. He was so happy. He would take them everywhere he went. His older cousin had seen them and told my son to be careful with them because some cards could be worth a lot of money. It was a surprise to me. My son didn't know what that meant, so when we got home I serectly borrowed his binder and downloaded an app to see how much could one or some of these cards are worth and to my surprise. I found a card that was worth $22. CND in his collection, which was half the price of the gift set. So I told my son that he need to keep these cards a side at home and only bring the doubles to school if he want to play with them. To learn.. the next day he took three cards to school and came home with only one card and that one card doesn't worth much. I asked him where are your cards? He told me he traded with his friends. I told him that's not trading its giving. The next day I told him to get two more cards back. He did. Thats why we don't let him take his binder to school. He would just give them ALL away. 😅. I'm trying to learn as well what to look for and figure out why there are so many different types and price range
Now that im a 32 year old "adult" with 2 jobs, im more obsessed Pokémon and the cards than i was when i was 7 thanks to my now 7 year old nephew who loves Pokémon. The fact that i have more $$ to spend as opposed to when i was 7 adds to why im more obsessed with Pokemon now if that makes sense haha makes me feel like a kid again!
i get that. my 7 year old and 11 year old are into them. Now that they are starting to really grow their collection i started to get more involved and kind of getting obsessed with them finding those more interesting or desirable cards . lol
I started buying silver tempest because one of my friends said they contain some valuable cards. I didn’t know much back then and I was opening silver tempest and lost origin. Now I’m waiting for the Paldean Fates release. I’m willing to complete that set when its dropped. Thank you for the video I will use some of those sites for sure
Started collecting when 151 released. Get burned out because i had lot of FOMO etc. The number 1 bonus tip is the best tip ever. I get back with surging sparks and decided to master set all SV era. But this tip is everything i follow. I set budget- 1xETB and 1xBB per set to have fun with ripping those packs and maybe get something valuable, and then buy the singles which are missing in the set. Not rushing to complete it, not setting a date for finishing a master set. Like you said, CARD WILL ALWAYS BE THERE. If i found myself i need that one expensive card for completing set(not so much expensive cards in SV sets like Greninja or Charizard from 151 and now Pikachu from SS) i will wait for good deal, i will save money for them and then buy them. Not rushing to complete/collect and not overspend my budget is the road. I was master of FOMOing and now i learn to overcome it. Finally having fun with collecting and thats why i collecting pokemon❤️Also thnx for this video
It’s honestly such a challenge! I had a similar experience! Thanks for sharing and I’m so glad you’ve been able to find the fun in the hobby again :) happy collecting!

I have a video idea for you, this comes from me just getting into pokemon cards again (had them as a child). In building an excel sheet list of the cards I want to collect, I was surprised to learn about Secret Cards, Holofoil, Shiny, Rotom, Unown, Arceus, Alph Lithograph, Radiant, Classic, Trainer gallery, Galarian gallery and so on... Then on top of that I had to learn about 1st Edition, Unlimited Edition, and things like Shadowless, "red cheek / yellow cheek" Copyright dates, EX non-holo code variants. A cool video would go over what those card variants are, how they differ from the original cards.
That’s a great idea!! I’m currently working on a video that explains rarity simples across the entire lifespan of the TCG. Similar to that idea, but only talks about the specific types of rarity. I’ll add this one to the list. Thank you for the suggestion
II've been interested in the topic for a while and received a bunch of cards as gift, but I found confusing some aspects- your guide was helpful, thank you! I know now where to look to inform myself better!
Recently got into opening pack again cause i love having the cards really cause i think they are pretty but i pulled a superior V from silver tempest its only 8 bucks raw but it felt so good to pull thanks for all the tips and help
Thanks! I’m finally getting back to collecting after 15 years. Your advice is perfect, everything I need to be up to date with collecting. Starting with Temporal Forces 👍
Thanks, man, I just started collection booster packs like the one you showed, Scarlet & Violet Obsidian Flames, because that's all I can find it physical shops in my country, but I hope to find more and not just buy online. Anyways, nice video, you just gained a sub, and I'll make sure to watch more of your videos :)
Hello, question. I know nothing about Pokémon cards, but my son wants a 2007 ex power keepers charizard. My question is what the difference between a holo and reverse foil holo and which is the better buy? Not most expensive but what is the better card? Sincerely cinfused dad Thanks!
Hello!!! So the reverse holo has a foil everywhere except the art on the card (behind all the text), where the holo foil has the foil in the art of the card. In terms of rarity, the holo foil is definitely the chase card. The ‘better’ one is definitely personal preference, but I would say most people prefer holo foil over reverse. Hope this helps! Your son has great taste! :)
Great video, thank you. I'm a sports card collector and seller. My son started to collect and trade Pokemon at school, I found one that I sold on eBay for $675. Now I have a hint on what to look at so he doesn't trade em
great vid, i'm just getting started and these are some amazing tips and things to keep in mind, i have subed to try to find more videos to help me on my quest to catch em all!
any tips on good places to sell and buy in the uk other than ebay? i think i found some good places to buy booster boxes from (japan2uk) and grifyn gaming/chaos gaming but not sure about places to sell excess rares etc? (other than ebay and thier high fees) am i best keeping sales in country or risk selling and shipping abroad too etc?
@@VaxxsCharizardCollection when and how to tell if a card should be sent to be graded, all of mine go from pack to protector/toploader (if good) but how do i tell if a card is worth getting graded so i can keep in encased and incase its value some day skyrockets (i have pulled a few super rares etc) what to look out for with the card for centering etc.
I started buying 25 pieces of crown zenith. Is that okay? And what is PSA like I don't understand the main difference why the other one is way far in terms of price
Professional Sports Authenticators. They grade collectibles and a 10 is perfect condition in gem mint and perfect/great centering. Crown Zenith is a good last set of SWSH block, and with yellow borders. It is a beautiful set.
I have spent a ton of money the past two weeks, 36 boosters, 2 etb’s. One shrouded fable, the other twilight masquerade. Pulled the full art houndoom from shrouded, and pulled the evee full art, tatsugiri full art and an ace spec unfair stamp all in the same pack.
Amazing vid man. Keep going! ❤ I’m just starting to get into this to play the game and to just have fun and find cool, cards. Btw I’m not very sure how to play the game could u make a vid on how to and what packs I have to buy to play? Ex where do I get energy cards? Sorry abt all these questions I’m very new to this 😅 And one last question Do u know what pack I should buy just to find some cool cards and that r affordable?
So glad to hear you’re getting into the hobby! Investing in an elite trainer box is a great way to get started playing. It comes with a pack of 50 energies and a good amount of booster packs to get your deck started. I’d suggest grabbing one of those from the twilight masquerade or temporal forces sets. Affordable and easy to get! Hope this helps!
I always recommend starting with the newest set, only because it’s easiest to get as you’re learning… so you could either jump right into temporal forces, or wait a few weeks and jump on twilight masquerade when it drops
This isn't really the case for Pokémon. Certain sets have a higher probability of pulling higher rarity cards, but because the probability is higher, the rare cards themselves from that set end up being less valuable. It's really a chance game
The best thing to do is go to a local game/card store and do it there. However I’d suggest getting an idea of value before that just so you don’t accept a lowball offer
Hi, I see there are many different types of Pokémon cards… which set do I start with? I want to mainly collect all the rare/shiny from each collection… is this a thing or how what would you recommend doing? What different types of Pokémon cards are there? Thanks!
It’s really random honestly. Each set has so many rare cards, so I would suggest either buying cards individually using TCGPlayer.com, or finding a set that has a lot of cards you like and opening some packs form it to increase your chances of pulling a card you want. You can google pokemon sets and see what cards are in them. The newer the set, the easier it will be to find
I used to collect FA Supporters a while back, but at some I sold them when I needed money for something. Now I'm trying to get back into it but as it turns out the price of the cards I sold skyrocketed T-T it feels like I'm never getting Iris and Juniper back, the prices went 10x compared to when I sold them 8 years ago. I still think I'll try to get them eventually but at this point I've lost hope that I'll find them at an affordable price. Anyway, great video. It's very helpful for beginning to collect again
easiest would be the most recent collection, just because its easy to get your hands on and not priced above retail yet. But it really depends on what you're into and what makes you happy honestly. You can collect specific arts of Pokémon you like, or, what I do is collect a specific product from each yet... the elite trainer box. It looks good sealed on a shelf
My 7 year old daughter is getting into pokemon cards. I thought id do some research as i know nothing about them. The pokemon world is way more complex than i expected. I kind of went ham on whatnot and bought a bunch of cards, and anytime we go to walmart, target, etc, which is almost everyday, we are buying packs. Im learning now that we need to find a lane and focus on that instead of buying a bunch of random packs and sets like weve been doing. Ive noticed some ppl collect their favorite pokemon and some try to collect each card from one set. We filled up a 3 ring binder in just one week and thats not including the 20+ packs that are coming in the mail from whatnot. Lol We have also been putting everything in the binder tho like duplicates and bulk cards. Hard part is knowing which cards to penny sleeve or put in top loaders. We have been going by the rarity symbol. If its a star, double star, or promo, we put them in hard sleeve top loaders. Holos go in a penny sleeve and into the binder. Is that a good method? I personally collect coins and finding that pokemon has a lot of similarities. What to buy, finding what you like and focusing on that, where to buy, avoiding scammers and fakes, proper storage for valuables. When i first got started i was buying anything and everything. Took me awhile to find what i liked. Now i focus on pre 1964 silver coins and stacking silver bars. I think once she figures out what she likes, it will get easier and cheaper. Thanks for this video, it was really helpful.
The reason is because i just wanted to relive my childhood memories of me collecting pokemon cards just for fun, this time I want to collect cards and put them in a binder which I don't have when i was a kid
Hi, I just caught your video. Thank you very much for making this. Your WHY am I collecting question is a good one. I have never been into Pokemon when they first came out, or since, never seen the cartoon and I can only name Pikachu or Charizard off the top of my head, but I LOVE watching pack opening videos. I want to experience that... whether it's for the artwork, the gamble or the rare chance of making my money back, even if it's only a few pence. I am in the UK, do you know if there is a good place to start? I would maybe like to open a few packs and then I feel I am done and can pass the cards on lol
Thanks for the comment!! I glad you found it helpful! I’m not super familiar with the market in the UK, however I’d suggest starting by grabbing a few modern packs from target (if you have Target’s around you). That’s a good way to get your feet wet and start to learn without investing a ton of money
Gidday Vax when i was younger i used to buy occasional pokemon packs with me pocket money i had this wierd goal of collecting every version of Cubone, unfortunately my family home was gutted by fire i lost all my collection and the desire to collect died. 30 yrs on i wanna get that collection started again but unsure which sets will have a chance of pulling that crazy cubone. Any tips of which sets i should start with. Thanks bro
Wow! I’m so sorry to hear that happened to you. What I would do is use the app Pokellector and search Cubone! That will help you see what sets have the ones your looking for
I need a video explaining the differences in all these "hits" im a OG collector whete the hit was a holo. I don't understand all the differences from SI, SIR, V, VMAX and EX nore do i even understand how to tell what ive got
That’s a great point! I’ve been working on a video for this! It does get a bit complicated, Because the meaning for each has changed with each generation, but stay tuned.. I’ve got a video in production that will help
Glad it was helpful! What ETB to he really depends on the cards you’re looking to pull! I recommend getting the newest sets because they are the cheapest until you learn what you’re looking for
What edition should I start with? I’m not massively clued up on Pokemon but I’ve always wanted to get into collecting the cards etc! Any help would be appreciated haha
Hey man! I’d suggest jumping in with the newest set.. it’s easiest to find and hasn’t been marked up. You’ll learn a lot as you go, but that’s always my recommendation on where to start
Hi Vaxx! Just watched this whole video, really loved the way u put these tips and ur experiences in it (im subscribing instantly, hehe) I have a question, tho (and maybe for another viewers who'd also like to give their opinions, please do so)-I really want to start collecting but idk which packs/series to start with, maybe u have some recommendations abt this? - I dont really think of becoming a player, and - I'm still browsing thru the pokellector indexes to see the artworks on each packs/series since someone on the internet suggested me to do so but, yknow, just want to know ur thoughts and (perhaps) any of ur recommendations bcs I'd also like my collection to have some kind of "value" (if that makes sense) and just in case I might sell some of them in the future Would really love to know ur answer :) tysm in advance-OH, and keep up the good work🔥 PS. sorry for any errors in this comment since english isnt really my 1st language, hehe ❤
5 months late... but my honest advice would be to look at two things... 1. Specific Pokémon. Almost every Pokémon (primarily in the first 3 generations) has cards that appreciate in value over time. Now that doesn't mean EVERY card does, its just a safe bet that some will... so if you have a favorite Pokémon, starting by hunting for it may be a good way to get your feet wet. 2. Set values are super hard to predict, but generally it comes down to chase cards, I wouldn't suggest jumping into set collecting with an investment mindset, because in all honesty, that's just gambling... If I were you, i'd start by buying packs in the most current set, because they are cheapest and easiest to get ahold of.. you'll learn what you like and don't like... also downloads the app Pokellector... its a great tool to look at all the sets and see any cards you may want to hunt for. in the end, its all a hobby and for fun! There's no "right way of doing it" Just explore and enjoy the ride! You'll learn what you like/don't like. and most importantly, don't break your bank!!
I just bought my first pokemon card pack yesterday. It was the halloween trick or trade pack. I have under 100 pokemon cards at the moment but im hoping to buy more and pull rare cards. Im mostly a sports card guy too.
I don’t currently. Honestly, grading isn’t something I’ve jumped into myself yet. I really like the look of raw cards. I’m sure there is another creator who has made a good video!! If you can’t find one, let me know and I’ll do some research and make one
I’m trying to buy my Friend a Charizard Pokémon card for his birthday. I was gonna buy it on eBay, but I don’t know how to tell what is fake and what is real? Or what is a good Card. I know. Nothing about Pokémon. I need help
Ohhh okay! What I’d suggest is to go on TCGplayer.com, search for charizard and buy one directly on that site that you think looks good and is a in your budget. They will ensure you’re getting a real one and have all the different options in one place for you
That’s awesome!!! TCG Price guide is like 90% accurate. It’s not perfect, but a great baseline. The best way to tell current prices is to look at the recently sold items on eBay. That will tell you exactly what they are going for right now
If you hang on to the extras, you can sell them in bulk to a local card start and get store credit to buy more packs or something else you’re interested in. It’s better than just letting them pile up
Honestly I think it’s more trouble than it’s worth. If you’re a sealed collector and like having the pokemon center logo on your packaging, then it’s worth it. But it always sells out so fast lol. I just don’t bother with it 😂
Just found your channel and love the content! Really helpful guide to collecting Pokemon Cards, I also make Pokemon card opening videos so love the content! Keep up the awesome work :)
@VaxxsCharizardCollection what do you mean collect I have more in the evolve set Scarlett and violet and then I have the Scarlett and violet 151 those are the cars I have more of explain to me a little better
"Dont just look at current eBay listing, cross reference with eBay recently sold listings..." is what you should have said. nearly had a heart attack when you said dont check ebay listings. Thats the most accurate pricing right now.
😂😂😂 good point! Sorry for the scare! The more places you check, the more info for you, doesn’t hurt to look at as many sources as possible. Recently sold is going to tell you want people are actually willing to pay, listings tells you want people want to make from it lol. So the actual value will fall closer to recently sold (generally)
This isn't a guide for collecting Pokemon cards, this is just a guide for collecting cards. He mentioned a "secret rare" card or whatever but what even is that? This is the first result on youtube for "types of pokemon cards" but it doesn't describe the types of pokemon cards a person can collect, which I was hoping to learn more about.
Thanks for the comments! That’s a great point and I appreciate the feedback! Here is a link to a second video that describes Pokémon card rarity (including secret rares) th-cam.com/video/NPb67zxnM-8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=70_L7qp5nQjSUFqK
@@VaxxsCharizardCollection Woohoo! Thank ya sir 😊. I edited the comment to be less annoying about youtube's algorithmic decisions. I ver much appreciated the editing on the first video so I look forward to watching the next one!
I believe TCGPlayer.com does have international shipping options. If not, I'd suggest some googling to find a local card shop in sweden that you can order from.
@VaxxsCharizardCollection that's sad 😔 also you mentioned avoiding buying products off of Amazon. if someone were to buy a booster box and it still has the Pikachu wrapper on it, is it legit or do scammers have a way of replicating and replacing it? do scammers make fake booster boxes?
151 is a bit unique because it doesn’t have booster boxes available. What I did was grab a few sealed products for fun (like the ultimate premium collection box, the tins, and a few booster bundles). Opened them all up and then went out looking for the singles I was missing. If you’re looking for purely the best bang for your buck.. it’s a tough call because you never know what you might pull… I always tend to spend a couple hundred on seeped and rip them and then purchase whatever I didn’t pull from there. You can go down a dangerous path if you try to pull every card 😂😂 hope this helps! Also just an FYI, Walmart has 151 booster bundles discounted online right now at a great price!
Hmm that’s actually a great question. I’m not entirely sure as I’m US based. I believe there is target in the EU right? That’s a good option. Any other EU-ers that can weigh in???
I only collect for the art and collection. I mostly buy the cards i want but sometimes will get packs. I dont care much about value i just want good looking art. I also dont have alot of income so most of the time i can just get the card i want for cheaper
Honestly what I do a lot of the time is get cards I really like in well played condition. It’s significantly cheaper and the damage is very minimal. Sometimes really hard to even notice! Good luck collecting!!! :)
I'm from India I have a question can I buy it from Amazon one of my friends is in los Angeles i told him to buy it for me and bring it to me 🙏🏻 suggest me with this
Battle decks aren’t really designed for the ‘collector’ they’re built mainly to help somebody get into playing the TCG. In my experience, there aren’t usually chase cards included so they aren’t generally a great buy in terms of bang for buck
I hope this video was helpful! Don't forget to Subscribe to the Channel!! 😄
Can you make a video , what to buy when you want to make the best deck for playing

Hello, question. I know nothing about Pokémon cards, but my son wants a 2007 ex power keepers charizard. My question is what the difference between a holo and reverse foil holo and which is the better buy? Not most expensive but what is the better card? Sincerely cinfused dad
Thanks!
@@VaxxsCharizardCollection Thank you so much.I really appreciate it
Great video, thank you. I'm a sports card collector and seller. My son started to collect and trade Pokemon at school, I found one that I sold on eBay for $675. Now I have a hint on what to look at so he doesn't trade em
we've all made the mistake of trading a card that ended up being so valuable! lol
great vid, i'm just getting started and these are some amazing tips and things to keep in mind, i have subed to try to find more videos to help me on my quest to catch em all!
any tips on good places to sell and buy in the uk other than ebay? i think i found some good places to buy booster boxes from (japan2uk) and grifyn gaming/chaos gaming but not sure about places to sell excess rares etc? (other than ebay and thier high fees) am i best keeping sales in country or risk selling and shipping abroad too etc?
I’ve got more coming soon!!! :) anything in particular you’re looking to learn?

Thank you. This was very helpful. My son is just getting into Pokemon and we are loving it.
Such a fun hobby with your family!
Wow!!!! That’s incredible! Gotta love pulls like that!
Excited to get on the grind :)
Yes! Good luck!!!! 🍀
Hey man I love the video. Do you think that the whatnot app is a good way to start out?
To be completely honest,. I've never used whatnot, but I've heard good things! As always, just use your best judgement and if its sketchy steer clear
Amazing vid man. Keep going! ❤
I’m just starting to get into this to play the game and to just have fun and find cool, cards.
Btw I’m not very sure how to play the game could u make a vid on how to and what packs I have to buy to play? Ex where do I get energy cards?
Sorry abt all these questions I’m very new to this 😅
And one last question
Do u know what pack I should buy just to find some cool cards and that r affordable?
So glad to hear you’re getting into the hobby! Investing in an elite trainer box is a great way to get started playing. It comes with a pack of 50 energies and a good amount of booster packs to get your deck started. I’d suggest grabbing one of those from the twilight masquerade or temporal forces sets. Affordable and easy to get! Hope this helps!
Are there any packs or sets you would recommend for beginners?
I always recommend starting with the newest set, only because it’s easiest to get as you’re learning… so you could either jump right into temporal forces, or wait a few weeks and jump on twilight masquerade when it drops
Are there better packs to buy for more rare cards? Like buying retail vs hobby packs in the sport card world ?
This isn't really the case for Pokémon. Certain sets have a higher probability of pulling higher rarity cards, but because the probability is higher, the rare cards themselves from that set end up being less valuable. It's really a chance game
Where can I bring my cards to see what they're worth not online but a store
Oh boy I can't wait to gamble with cardboard with cool ass art on them
😂
I used to collect FA Supporters a while back, but at some I sold them when I needed money for something. Now I'm trying to get back into it but as it turns out the price of the cards I sold skyrocketed T-T it feels like I'm never getting Iris and Juniper back, the prices went 10x compared to when I sold them 8 years ago.
I still think I'll try to get them eventually but at this point I've lost hope that I'll find them at an affordable price.
Anyway, great video. It's very helpful for beginning to collect again
That’s so roughhhh sorry to hear that!! But hopefully you can get back into it soon :)
Just started , learned a lot from this vid and thanks
Glad it was helpful to you!! Happy collecting! :)
hi Im starting collecting pokemon, but I want to collect sealed box not to open. Any recommend where to start? and which is good to collect
easiest would be the most recent collection, just because its easy to get your hands on and not priced above retail yet.
Lol
We have also been putting everything in the binder tho like duplicates and bulk cards.
This is amazing! I love hearing about how Pokemon can connect generations!
The reason is because i just wanted to relive my childhood memories of me collecting pokemon cards just for fun, this time I want to collect cards and put them in a binder which I don't have when i was a kid
That’s awesome!!! Happy collecting :)
Thank you so much this was very helpful 😊 also what ETB do you recommend?
Glad it was helpful! What ETB to he really depends on the cards you’re looking to pull! I recommend getting the newest sets because they are the cheapest until you learn what you’re looking for

Hey man! I’d suggest jumping in with the newest set.. it’s easiest to find and hasn’t been marked up. You’ll learn a lot as you go, but that’s always my recommendation on where to start

Goated video for someone who is a returning collector
Hi Vaxx! Just watched this whole video, really loved the way u put these tips and ur experiences in it (im subscribing instantly, hehe)
I have a question, tho (and maybe for another viewers who'd also like to give their opinions, please do so)-I really want to start collecting but idk which packs/series to start with, maybe u have some recommendations abt this?
- I dont really think of becoming a player, and
- I'm still browsing thru the pokellector indexes to see the artworks on each packs/series since someone on the internet suggested me to do so but, yknow, just want to know ur thoughts and (perhaps) any of ur recommendations bcs I'd also like my collection to have some kind of "value" (if that makes sense) and just in case I might sell some of them in the future
Would really love to know ur answer :) tysm in advance-OH, and keep up the good work🔥
PS. sorry for any errors in this comment since english isnt really my 1st language, hehe ❤
Welcome to the hobby!! :D
Do you have a video on the steps of how to get the psa thing done to a card i have no clue and my little brother wants to get some done
I don’t currently. Honestly, grading isn’t something I’ve jumped into myself yet. I really like the look of raw cards. I’m sure there is another creator who has made a good video!! If you can’t find one, let me know and I’ll do some research and make one
Just started collecting and am trying to master crown zenith and paldea
Ohhh those are amazing collections! How are you doing??
I’m trying to buy my Friend a Charizard Pokémon card for his birthday. I was gonna buy it on eBay, but I don’t know how to tell what is fake and what is real? Or what is a good Card. I know. Nothing about Pokémon. I need help
Ohhh okay! What I’d suggest is to go on TCGplayer.com, search for charizard and buy one directly on that site that you think looks good and is a in your budget. They will ensure you’re getting a real one and have all the different options in one place for you
Best video keep up never give up
Appreciate it!! :)

Welcome to the community! 😄
@@VaxxsCharizardCollection ty!! i opened some of my first packs yesterday and it was really fun brings back so many memories
What should i get if im trying to comple a pokemon set? Should i just get loads of booster packs?
The cheapest way to complete a set is definitely to buy the cards you need individually… although that’s way less fun than hunting for them in packs
I just got a 36 booster pack for the masquerade series. I'm hoping it comes unopened and tampered with.
Is tcg price guide still good?
That’s awesome!!! TCG Price guide is like 90% accurate. It’s not perfect, but a great baseline. The best way to tell current prices is to look at the recently sold items on eBay. That will tell you exactly what they are going for right now
@VaxxsCharizardCollection ok awesome! I appreciate that, so ebay over Amazon in the future then?
So to start off the hobby I Just bought surging sparks booster box what do you do with the extras😅
I was just going to buy some kind of box for the extras and I’m mostly looking for sylveons
If you hang on to the extras, you can sell them in bulk to a local card start and get store credit to buy more packs or something else you’re interested in. It’s better than just letting them pile up
Curious what do u think of buying cards from the pokemon center
Honestly I think it’s more trouble than it’s worth. If you’re a sealed collector and like having the pokemon center logo on your packaging, then it’s worth it. But it always sells out so fast lol. I just don’t bother with it 😂
Awesome Advice 🤘🏼👽🤘🏼
Glad it was useful!!! 😄

Just found your channel and love the content! Really helpful guide to collecting Pokemon Cards, I also make Pokemon card opening videos so love the content! Keep up the awesome work :)
Thank you so much! 😀
Will I have four different sets I don't know which one to collect
Yeah collecting specific sets can be hard. I suggest maybe looking into what cards are in each set to know what ones you prefer to invest it
@VaxxsCharizardCollection what do you mean collect I have more in the evolve set Scarlett and violet and then I have the Scarlett and violet 151 those are the cars I have more of explain to me a little better
@VaxxsCharizardCollection I watch you on TH-cam a lot watching your videos is what you got me to explore the Pokemon world again
Great video!
Hope it was helpful!

This isn't a guide for collecting Pokemon cards, this is just a guide for collecting cards. He mentioned a "secret rare" card or whatever but what even is that? This is the first result on youtube for "types of pokemon cards" but it doesn't describe the types of pokemon cards a person can collect, which I was hoping to learn more about.

is there a way to tell if modern cards are 1st editions anymore.
They unfortunately don’t make first edition in modern cards. Such a cool thing they got rid of after the first few sets
Ninetails fav thx for tips
Ninetails is sick!
Hi just start collecting pokemon cards. My goal is to complete card sets like 151. Is it much better to buy single cards or bundles and packs?
My 8 year old daughter is just getting into Pokémon. Would you advise buying from Amazon?
I’ve had a few negative experiences with Amazon so I advice staying away from it

What about "Battle Decks"?
Battle decks aren’t really designed for the ‘collector’ they’re built mainly to help somebody get into playing the TCG. In my experience, there aren’t usually chase cards included so they aren’t generally a great buy in terms of bang for buck
For fun ofc
