Read “Shell Shocked” an autobiography by Howard Kaylan front man for the Turtles and later for Zappa‘s Morher’s where Kaylan talks about living in the same apartment building as Soupy and how Soupy had lots of the best recreational drugs! Can’t say I was surprised. I think he and the staff were stoned the whole time!
@@kevinbutler1955NYC I count myself very fortunate for having grown up in Detroit watching the very first shows with Soupy, which included his daily "Lunch with" and later "Breakfast with" show, PLUS his nightly "SOUPY'S ON" show, which also featured Clyde Adler doing on-screen skits with him (especially skits aboard the Mississippi steamboat the SS Kielbasa, dealing with gambling, drinking, "singing" and other hi-jinx.) )Later moved to Los Angeles and continued to watch him in The New Soupy Sales Show as an adult. Always felt like a kid again watching hi shows. Great charming, utterly silly fun.
Loved this guy as a kid. The best
The show im detroit was never taped. Taping began @ WNEW in NYC after the New Years Day episode.
I was one of the recording engineers
Could you keep a straight face during recording?
How cool!
LOVED Soupy!! He is still hilarious! Loved the dogs the BEST...
Loved this show
I was wild about Soupy Sales... had to have exactly what he was eating. Sad sad day when he moved to New York.
Great show.. innocent days.
Omg what a blast from the past. Philo ketch and the mask and onions oregano, the song "because I'm maaaaaaad"
Soupy knew how to kick it loved him
