soupy was fantastic, there will never be another show like his, pookie always cracked me up, along with both dogs, guy at the door, and pies in the face, they are still funny today, almost 60 years since i first saw them !
In the 50’s, my mom worked at the Scott Paper Co. in Detroit area.. for their Christmas Party, they hired Soupy.. I was about 5, and I got to do the Soupy Shuffle with him
I did not see Soupy until he had a new syndicated show in 1978. My mom loved it, as she grew up watching Soupy. At first, I was not interested, but as I watched more and more I became a fan of the show. Soupy Sales knew how to put on a show.
from rick soupy sales was a man who loves kids and people to he loved them and they loved them back didnt know him but he seemed to be the nicest man ever
rick here again soupy sales was a well trained funny man and a man who loved to make people laugh an angel of a man gave poeple what they wanted god bless soupy
Sad this show is gone. Biography was terrific. Now we get "Life After Lockup", "Bridal Bootcamp", vampires, walking dead, aliens....all BS, horrible crap used to dumb down America.
Hip, jazzy music, adult and kids humor! What's not to like. Loved Pookie and rest of the gang. Ya, all know they're all stoned at the time of filmings... 🤩😎🦁
Me too, Today I'm watching a DVD about standing in the shadow of Motown and it mentioned Soupy Sale that brought back some childhood memories for me. Today in the year2017, Ohh it's Standing in the Shadows with an S, check it out history of the funk brothers and I want to personally thank the new technology today that help us remember black and white tv shows like Ed Sullivan and Flip Wilson and Red Skeleton and Red Fox and Howdy Doody and lassie and star trek and????? WOW!

I loved Soupy, he was funny and goofy.
I didn’t think I was a kid when I watched Soupy, I thought I was kool!😎
I was 15 in 1965.
2018 now. Always loved this guy so I googled him today!
I met him once the mid-60's when he was doing a show in Columbus OH at Christmas time for a Big Brothers show...he was awesome.

HOWARD STEAN DID!
The most Adult Kid's Show ever.
Watched him as a child. Loved White Fang.
Wow!..So, Soupy Sales' pet dog "White Fang" actually came from the much more serious "White Fang" of the great novelist Jack London....
I thought that Soupy Sales was corny. My mom loved his comedy routines.
I worked with him at WNEW-TV in NY...

The undisputed king of the pie-face! I remember Soupy once saying that he estimated that he'd been hit by 10,000 pies!
i always wondered if him and Uncle Floyd were friends
Yes, I see much of Mel Gibson in Soupy, and some of Tim Allen. Great actors!
Did he write most of his material?. He was hilarious!
MADE ME WANT TO BE A Dj Now I R 1! Send me that paper in moms/dads $$$ NBC & WNBC 66 RIP MILTON Shalom
Hey Kids! Wanna see something swell? Put a dry sponge in water... Ah the memories!
No lessons? Every show had a message segment.
He went to Australia for a while. It's rumored that Mel Gibson and Huey Lewis are his sons.
In that one shot of him, he looked just like a young Mel Gibson. It is uncanny.
M. Saint
Mel Gibson? I do see a resemblance.
@@michael.5360 lol...in a train wreck sort of way, yes!
Seen a clip where Howard Kaylan said he got high with Soupy. Amazing.
Who's Howard Kaylan?

Why did people like this guy?
Easy, his show was a half hour of nothing but hysterics. I could use that today!
❤Soupy was just Soupy...just Innocent fun and sincere heart for all!!
