Wheen a wheel cracks, there's a lot of tension in them and it's only going to get worse. When you weld them, it's THE biggest band-aid solution you could ever do. The pieces are cast and spun together to weld. No flux or gas, just friction, which creates that tension in the alloy.

@superspeedersRob the zo6 problem your having sometimes in suspension Articulations on the specific car the rim comes in contact with the very edge of the lower control arm so what alot of people do is cut away about 1 to 2" of the material away it doesn't effect the strength but it doesn't hit the wheel either
I couldn't do this job because I am not wise to all the tricks and fraud people do and I would easily fall victim to them. They'd be able to run circles around me.

Those are stress cracks on the wheels due to the wheels being super wide with low profile tires and slightly negative camber judging by the tire wear. 2013 and newer BMWs have the same issue with their aluminum alloy wheels.

The reason bolts are marked with paint is quality control .after the bolt is torqued its marked with a paint pen .during the final check if a bolt is not marked you can visually see it.
When i finish a lease i swap a few parts like the catalytic, alternator, ac compressor and other expensive parts. The leasing company never picks up on it. Usually makes about $4000 per car
at work we do ppo installations on new cars . when a car gets a flat tyre we just put on the same brand and type but the production date won't match the other tyres .
Do you even break even from this business? Your expenses and depreciation sound way more than what those cars bring in from rent. Or is the rental car fleet just a cover up for the spaghetti factory?
well, it's not like he has to pay for the damages. People either pay for it or the insurance company pays for it. As long as he has documented proof he's making gains.
This is happening a lot actually. I saw a guy doing it two years ago in my underground. He took the coils of a rental car and swapped his crap onto it. Normal people just don’t think about this sort of option lol.
I work at a tire shop in upstate NY. We see two to three cracked wheels a week. Stiff low profile tires and shit northeast roads are the problem. It happens especially with run flat tires. they are extremely stiff and don't take any of the impact, rather send it all to the wheel. Cars like the Corvette, bmw, Mercedes come with run flat tires with a low profile stock so they are all prone to this problem.

@@joshlarochelle1298 that's not what he said or meant. He means under load, hitting bumps, potholes, etc. The wider rear wheels do have less strength as the inner rim is so much further away from the outer rim/spokes where the strength is. Hence why you always see cracks on the inside of wheels
Josh Larochelle really dude? So all your roads are made of fucking cotton? No potholes.
I don’t care how strong the damn rim is. Come to Jersey and I’ll find you a road that can crack it.
Track mode in the c7 vette is retarted waaaaay to heavy and stiff even for track use.. Randy Pobst suggest driving the car in sport mode with traction and stability control turned off and it definitely makes a huge difference
Literally the day you put together an intro "montage", I was like, I respect him for being "fancy" and sticking to what is important! But I like it, because it should you've been around a while and have done some stuff! Keep up the great work!
Rents car out. Comes back with bugs on windshield.
Rob: something is amiss! Right to TH-cam!
Obviously the windshield was replaced with a dirty
comparing bugs on a windshield to a 6 year old tire on a 3 year old car and a missing wheel lock? :) Lets see if the views tomorrow dictate whether people find it fascinating or not.
superspeedersRob I wasn’t saying it wasn’t. Just poking fun. But I know most companies don’t dot match tires. I would be more curious if that rim was the original.
@@superspeeders with a clickbaity title like this I'm sure it will generate interest. If you called it 'someone changed a tyre on my rental car' I think the results would be very different 🙈
Rob you're a good talker and I'm learning a lot about the car rental business keep up the good work I like your videos🚗🛴🚘🚓🚔
Well, I mean... You DID suggest this idea in another video.
Back in the 70's, I used to work at a large auto center that sold tires, batteries, brake job, shocks, etc. One of the mechanics stole four Michelin radial tires out of the storage room without being seen. He would have gotten away with the theft but he got greedy and decided to write up a fake ticket to have the stolen tires installed on his car at the same place from where he stole them. One of the other salesmen looked at the ticket and realized that it was fake. They also had the serial numbers off of the stolen tires which were in the back seat of the mechanic's car. The police were called and the thief spent the night in jail.
We still haven't heard the story about the Volt.
Been watching for years, showing support from Canada
“You’re not going to realign 75 screws after working on a car”
Me looking at my Honda: “Hold my beer and say no more”.
I'd do it just to spite the car company.
Wheen a wheel cracks, there's a lot of tension in them and it's only going to get worse. When you weld them, it's THE biggest band-aid solution you could ever do. The pieces are cast and spun together to weld. No flux or gas, just friction, which creates that tension in the alloy.
Mr spaghetti got his meatballs swapped out with different meatballs
Wow! Thanks for the tire swap idea....I need new skins for the **bleep**!! I would NEVER have thought of that!
Today, Mr. Spaghetti is upsetti that someone swapped spices on the pastamobile.
You know you're renting from a reputable company when the Porsche you want is in a TH-cam video looking immaculate and the owner stressing "but this is before we clean it" like it's not already spotless! Good luck with the Vette wheels rob! 👍
I’m gonna rent that GT3 and swap out the gt wing for my 100% steel China town wing.
As a German its so satisfying to finally hear an American properly pronounce Porsche
Its been a year full
Of misfortunes for this guy!
I worked 30 years in a car plant. Fasteners have a paint line across them when the are checked for torque. This is a safety job at the end of the assembly line
@Superspeedersrob RFID on important parts auto scan in garage.
Owns multiple super cars, used harbor freight floor jack. This is why I love rob.
What did you do to piss off the universe?
Welcome to owning a business
Unnecessarily speeding in and out of traffic endangering the lives of people in the road.
just found your channel on the tracking car, and I love your style; big fan of Samcrac, and now i'm also a fan of you! Awesome videos!
How to pay for the new tyres? Make a TH-cam video about them, get that monetization money, done!
Shit he had well enough money
Get the conti dw for your new wheels. The issue imo is the run flat sidewall doesn’t absorb the shock because it’s too hard.
I didn’t know how many cars mr.spaghetti had
Crazy! Even has a 918!
Maybe someone swapped your factory Corvette wheels with replicas lol
Hmmmm, he never thought of that one
I could not do your job. I would end up in jail if someone damaged my car 😂
I love this channel a real insight
Keep the videos coming 👍🏻
I couldn't do this job because I am not wise to all the tricks and fraud people do and I would easily fall victim to them. They'd be able to run circles around me.
It's not "your car". It's the business's car. It's a cash-flowing tool owned by the business with depreciation & expense schedules & a projected residual value. At the end of the day, its only business...no personal or emotional attachment. No need to hurt someone & go to jail my friend.
yeah everyone know those rims are defective from factory
new intro killing it!
Today, Mr Spaghetti talks about a customer who swapped meatballs only to find out the meatballs were older than the pasta.
Those are stress cracks on the wheels due to the wheels being super wide with low profile tires and slightly negative camber judging by the tire wear. 2013 and newer BMWs have the same issue with their aluminum alloy wheels.
I dont get it.
you say in the video that the tire was changed.
me: "ok lets watch the different fucked up tire they put on"
rob: the tire is the same brand and model, and the thread is almost the same.
me: "holly molly coincidence you should go play lotto, --' so how do you know the tire is not from the car did you kept serial numbers?"
rob: "I know the tire is not from the car because the tire is from "2013" and the car is a "2015"
--'
the car probably just come from the dealer that way.. happens all the time.. and if the tires were changed could have been old stock and the dates of manufacture just didn't match
@Uh Oh yeah, I mean sure, but he didn't mention nothing about serial numbers or barcodes having being checked.. his Sherlock Holmes moment was "I know the tire is not from the car because the tire is from "2013" and the car is a "2015"..
Doesnt show the other tire dates to confirm his story either.
The reason bolts are marked with paint is quality control .after the bolt is torqued its marked with a paint pen .during the final check if a bolt is not marked you can visually see it.
Told my girlfriend i was gonna make a car out of spaghetti and she just laughed like crazy
Should have seen her face when i drove pasta.
Fail
i really love these rental videos keep em coming great videos Rob
Why does the Corvette wheel crack? Because it's not built ford tough.
When i finish a lease i swap a few parts like the catalytic, alternator, ac compressor and other expensive parts. The leasing company never picks up on it. Usually makes about $4000 per car
hmm wonder if they are watching this laughing lol
at work we do ppo installations on new cars . when a car gets a flat tyre we just put on the same brand and type but the production date won't match the other tyres .
SO to sum up the video, Keeps wheels stock for liability reasons. Also welds rims. Thats like putting the seatbelt on before you get into the seat.
Today Mr Spaghetti finds old tomatoes in his spaghetti sauce.
Shop looks great! Love the 488!
Rob literally joked about doing this 2 video's ago
LOL Nioce Daytona jack! Lets see a tool box tour!
Why does your Porsche have PA Inspection but FL Registration?
Bought out of PA and shipped out most likely
@@Bassfishinggangmaster69420 Yeah, not exactly rocket science.
This is happening a lot actually. I saw a guy doing it two years ago in my underground. He took the coils of a rental car and swapped his crap onto it. Normal people just don’t think about this sort of option lol.
Why is everything you post now always about something negative. This channel used to be cool but over time it's gotten dry
