Not just an idea but a working concept, no CGI. Formidable realisation and also your craft is unique. I build Aeroplanes so I understand the technical problems you have overcome. Just achieving Neutral Buoyancy is a real challenge in a lightweight craft, Congratulations! Please call it the "Nautilus", it looks just like it.
brenoe To be entirely fair the original idea is older than public domain allows in any country with a sense of decency, but Regardless, your point is valid.
I am awesomely happy that you made this. I had a dream of doing this with my kayak only today - except mine would likely leak and buckle under pressure. Very nice custom build !! .
+Ridah Parker I'd add to your comments about the inner hull having the same pressure as the outside pressure. That's a key missing detail. I think most people are unaware a properly designed sub needs to have the inner hull maintain the same pressure as at the surface.
Olivier Feuillette nous fait rêver... et à sa manière, si envoûtante, il concrétise nos envies d'aventures lues dans "Tintin et Rackham le Rouge" ! C'est simplement sensationnel. Un grand BRAVO et MERCI à lui ! Pierre-Yves Gires
One of the few times I saw something on youtube and thought to myself "I'd never want to try that". Kudos for the enormous balls needed to get in that thing.
This is brilliant. As long as the air inside the hull is the same as the water pressure outside the hull, nothing blows out or leaks. Freaking brilliant.
you teased us with a video 5 months ago, now we all want more from you. Who's fault is that mate.. ??? Well done with the sub. I don't care it goes slower than a walking pace but as far as I know while the whole planet walks, only you dive with your kayak. I guess that put you in the same league with Wrights aka Wright Brothers. Now can I at least see more teaser clips of your submarine .
Lucky for him Sharks didn't see him. That would be very scary running into a shark in this. Pretty cool and great idea for engine. It's similar to a sharks fin and the way the fin moves.
Not really. Sharks would maybe be curious but they wouldn't attack it. Maybe if they see him from uderneath and misidentify him as a snack but it has to be a freaking big shark to take a bite out of that.
Amazing creation!!! Whats the deepest dive you have completed so far? I would love more information on the build. Its could use a little bit more sanding, but looks great.
The changes that you have made improved and progressed since your first build over 9 years ago is what has got your design to where it is today and that is what you should legally register and put into production as your own business
Very ingenious! Bravo for an excellent example of hard work and bravery. I like the propulsion fin, too. I am curious about max. depth and how the seawater tanks are emptied to ascend back to the surface?
Superbe ! La bricole a du génie, parfois. Et de cette bricole découle un nouvel usage. On dirait ici que l’outil crée la fonction... Je suis désormais vos évolutions de près, et en particulier le système de propulsion qui me semble être le point le plus remarquable du projet.
I think it to be a pretty good design...! I enjoyed your video presentation, and would have liked to have heard more about it, and as well as other questions which I would think the more intelligent viewers would have asked... But thank your for sharing with us your marvelous Kayak Submarine...
Really impressive idea. A personal mini sub/ kayak for special needs. Now if it could be made affordable it might catch on. Could even have some military purposes.
+jdmdealers It's not impressive. It's wet-less scuba diving, which means you can get the bends, unlike a real submarine. The pressure in the inner hull is the same as the outside pressure by design. The midsection is not super strong to have the same pressure as the surface pressure. source for that assertion: www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/25/kayak-submarine-olivier-feuillette_n_4163742.html
ILuvJuly4th- Well, I agree it is not high tech. But, it did impress me & that is my humble opinion. Not many people design and make their own private transportation products from scratch. It takes a person with drive, talent, and determination. Many traits that seem to be declining.
+jdmdealers Well, most new inventions will be occurring in a lab nowadays. The basic discoveries have been exhausted. That's probably why you feel the way you do.
ILuvJuly4th- There are always new ideas and products to create threw life. I am sure other more great ideas and products will be made in time. It is rather refreshing to see a individuals with a creative mind and the ability to invent and produce something that functions. I see this feat as much more difficult than a regular company with unlimited man power and money. You just do not see many gifted people doing everything to produce their own working product like this one. This is just my humble opinion.
jdmdealers I disagree wholeheartedly. I think most engineers like myself would cancel this project if the surface pressure could not be maintained inside the cabin at all times. It's a waste of time and money to build a wetless scuba unit (because you have to monitor depth/time there at all times plus have a slow return to the surface) that happens to operate like a submarine. This is not an engineering marvel. It's like building and flying an airplane that cannot be controlled on its 3 axis (Wright Brothers competitors). I don't see methodical problem solving in this video to maintain inherent control and safety in it's creation process by design.

To call it that, he would have to kill a swedish journalist.

Would love some verbal detail explaining design processes.
Fin propulsion is a nice touch.
BenjaminFranklin99 It was using the Kelpy Effect. Look it up.
I am awesomely happy that you made this. I had a dream of doing this with my kayak only today - except mine would likely leak and buckle under pressure. Very nice custom build !! .
it is videos like this one that makes me continue to love TH-cam. I can't wait to see more of your submarine.
Thanks for making and sharing!

Of what?
@@TheWormzerjr what happened?
That's pretty dang cool. Wish I could buy one.
me 2
I would pay this guy $1 million so I can just get one of these
And if it fucks up its a nice coffin
.. true class. what are you, 10?
Shawn Gunnison atleast in other subs you can have a second posture in the seat...
Dylan Zrim you
boo bye negative fucking moron
boo bye there is no speak about safe escape measures/efforts. That statement is a bad assumption at best.
Imagine you're hanging out at the beach and this guy just surfaces out of nowhere, paddles in, and says "sup"
That was the neatest thing i have ever seen . Thanks for sharing
What a great project! Congratulations on a successful dive.
Thank you for the feedback.

Yes, feet are generally ugly and smell.
vety nice project!!
is this a semi wet submarine
do u have a blueprint? cause id want to make one!

Dose it have an emergency floatation system?
Can you please make a video that discuses how this masterpiece works.
ALL THANKS TO FLEX SEAL!
This is my motivation to get through the week.
I love the propulsion system. I had been kicking around the idea of using diving fins for propulsion for about 20 years.
Love the use of the prop like the tail of a fish/shark/whale. Genius and such a fitting concept.
Suddenly I feel sane! Thank you for posting this wonderful video!
It's not enough to say that I'm speechless. Hybrid technology at it's best!
Really impressed with your work. Thanks for posting.
That was brilliant! I truly enjoyed watching this
Pretty cool project for a guy to build and sail. Kudos to you!!!
Coolest thing I've seen in a long time! I like this guy's invention! Lot of work went into this.
Dude...such an awesome video! This is what TH-cam was created for! Exploration of everything that humans can do. Bravo...
Unreal Oli! Keep coming back to the surface!
One of the few times I saw something on youtube and thought to myself "I'd never want to try that". Kudos for the enormous balls needed to get in that thing.
WOW!
I guess pedals somewhere round the feet for that sculling paddle! Stealthy
love the music !!! very capturing
So cool! Imagine diving this in a clear tropical sea...wow
Very inteligent to design and build something that's sealed and holds back so much water presure . I'm impressed
Extraordinaire. Bravo Olivier !
Thats fantastic! Well done on the build!
Subo, the kayak submarine. This is a really cool invention. kayaking is more versatile than I expected.
Outstanding! Brilliant! .... And fun, looks like. I'd love to read about the machinations of it. Well done.
Your genius knows no bounds. Amazing!
At the beginning of this vid I was skeptical but that's actually super impressive!
Inspirational! Thanks for sharing.
Wow, the fin part made my jaw drop, i wouldn't come up with that. Good Job!
reminds me of the jules verne nautilus. working on the plans to build myself something similar, hopefully in the next few years.
Oli that is absolutely awesome :-), keep us posted with your next projects.
You did it yourself?..... congratulations man.... .you are great!
Bad ass project and honestly... he also looks like a badass!
Absolutely brilliant!
This is brilliant. As long as the air inside the hull is the same as the water pressure outside the hull, nothing blows out or leaks. Freaking brilliant.
Amazing vessel. Wow!. Must be a genious to engineer such a craft.
kayak submarine is so cool that is the most intelligent underwater vessel that anybody ever made
Okay, that is PRETTY KOOL, and the music in the video is pretty Kool also, Great Job!
Needs a rebreather to reduce those bubbles.
C'est super impressionant. J'adore la propulsion avec cette petite palme en arrière.
That was thoroughly entertaining an awesome video
This was an amazing video.

It's pretty amazing how that propulsion system gets the job done
this song is just amazing man
i was sarcastic until a saw that it propels itself by fliping it's fish tail. nice machine!
an amazing feat of talent and dedication also!
What a fantastic machine!
Awesome...great work.

bravo Olivier, j'adore ton idée
Starke Vorstellung Daumen hoch dafür.
Scares the hell out me-absolutely incredible. DAMN!
Amazing creation!!! Whats the deepest dive you have completed so far? I would love more information on the build. Its could use a little bit more sanding, but looks great.
Well done Olivier, awesome build and free to go where many of us can't. How long can it stay under
That's really cool looking
The changes that you have made improved and progressed since your first build over 9 years ago is what has got your design to where it is today

Man that is awesome!!!!
That is awesome!
OMG!! How cool it is!!!!
Buen trabajo amigo, proyecto excelente. Mis felicitaciones.
That is SO COOL!! I want one!!
Great video
Very ingenious! Bravo for an excellent example of hard work and bravery. I like the propulsion fin, too. I am curious about max. depth and how the seawater tanks are emptied to ascend back to the surface?
Outstanding !!!
That was cool how deep does it go and thanks for sharing
Now how cool is this!
Oh yeah, I like it so much!! great job man, it's really amazing and crazy! :D
That's pretty awesome
Very Cool...That would be great in the lakes around my home...
Superbe ! La bricole a du génie, parfois. Et de cette bricole découle un nouvel usage. On dirait ici que l’outil crée la fonction...

Ovo izgleda odlično. Svaka čast.
OMG that is seriously bloody clever Olli. You're some kind of evil genius. Brilliant.
awesome buddy!
I want to know how that propulsion fin works! Great idea!
Some people didn't like this video? Amazing!
Reminds me of a comic strip in the UK I used to follow decades ago; the central character was a boy in the bubble canopy of a robotic swordfish.
I think it to be a pretty good design...! I enjoyed your video presentation, and would have liked to have heard more about it, and as well as other questions which I would think the more intelligent viewers would have asked... But thank your for sharing with us your marvelous Kayak Submarine...
