  • A cruise around the delightful countryside of mid-Wales in a 1996 Mitsubishi Pajero Junior - a baby Shogun here in the UK.
    Marvel at the complete lack of acceleration. Enjoy genuine off-road ability. Be amazed that this isn't the smallest Pajero!
    As ever, no script, no fancy camerawork and no budget. Enjoy and don't forget to subscribe! Thanks. HubNut.

    I almost bought one of these once. The Suzuki Jimny Sierra seems to be the more popular tiny truck in most markets though.

    I have one and find it very useful around the city. Nice car to go exploring the countryside but not for serious off roading.

    Nice report on the Junior. I just missed out on one but have a couple more to look at.

    The Colt Car Company brought one of these over for evaluation, I remember seeing it on a rare trip with my Dad into his office.
    It's a pity MMC in Japan weren't a little bit braver in allowing CCC to sell more interesting cars in the UK.

    Interesting 4x4. I like the look of some of its cousins!

    If I lived out in the sticks like you do I'd have this, a Jimny or a Panda 4x4 for the rough weather times and maybe a Panda 2wd for the rest, no need for the big stuff.

    Cute little car. My criticism would be that tiny, underpowered engine. A 1.3L - 1.6L petrol or a small turbo diesel would’ve been a much better choice. Small, underpowered engines are false economy, IMO. You have to really hammer them to get up to national speed limits so they can be surprisingly thirsty, and of course wear and tear increases.
    Perhaps the turbo should’ve been standard equipment! Grossly underpowered cars are miserable to drive on faster roads.

      Thanks. Neighbour still owns it. There is at least one Pajero Flying Pug over here in the UK. If you've never seen one, Google it!

      +b i lly rin g No. The smaller Pajero Mini could be specified with a turbocharger.

    Are these cars too heavy or unstable at all

    • @HubNut
      @HubNut  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hard to say. I wouldn't trust one on an Elk test, but that's true of many tiny 4x4s.

      @@HubNut I just bought one but I’m not sure how to operate the 4wd. I know the settings but does the car have to be in neutral to change into the different settings?

    • @HubNut
      @HubNut  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, neutral is sensible. Don't select 4wd on hard surfaces though as I don't believe there's a centre diff.
