- The Dodge Challenger lineup is extensive; ranging from a base V6, all the way to the 840hp "Demon". This 392 Scat Pack slots somewhere in the middle, battling the Mustang GT and Camaro SS.

This is an underrated driver's car.. It has the 'Holy Trinity' for car folks (Manual, V8, RWD).. Double-wishbone all the way around.. Heel-toe is fairly easy.. you can steer the car with the throttle.. and it sounds fucking amazing

the skip shift isn't getting in the way like the previous cars. my 2012 just locked me out of my 2nd under full acceleration.

I owned a 1970 Challenger 440 six pack with a four speed manual pistol grip back in the late 1970's, a kick ass machine. I think I am going to pull the trigger before I retire and buy a 2019 scat pack. I love your vid.

If you can't decide, I've seen some challengers with the 5.7 hemi and manual going for around 10k .
I drive a 4cyl manual and am already having traction issues , I'm sure a 5.7 would be plenty of fun to drive.
This is the best Challenger video on the internet. I checked a Scat Pack 392 out yesterday. What a car! The factory exhaust music is amazing. I have the green light to buy one in about 6-8 months. I am leaning toward the T/A package in B5 blue.

I found a white T/A about $8000 under MSRP. I put a deposit down on it and won't be able to go get it until Nov. 2.
I have a manual 2019 / 392 Scat, gray I just put about 1600 miles on it. My first Dodge ever and I love it.

Excellent POV, and review on the other video Buzzy! I agree 100% with your review on this badass muscle car. I own the 2021 Challenger Scat with the ZF 8 speed Automatic, Dynamics Package, Narrow Body, etc, and it is intoxicating 😊.

I was thinking about getting one of these to replace my 2011 Mustang GT. I drove an automatic version and was so let down. It was fast sure, but it was missing something. To me it felt like I was driving a fast Dodge Ram. Very comfortable, smooth engine with smooth shifts. It didn't feel as raw as my Mustang does. I'm hoping next summer to drive a manual version and see how that is. I drove a 2017 Camaro SS and (again just personal opinion) it felt like it was lacking something. It was a manual. Its like they where trying to build a better Mustang. The Challenger on the other hand felt like it was its own thing. They aren't building a better Mustang they are building a Challenger.
Watching you drive the Manual version is making me want to go test drive one. Hopefully they will let me test drive a manual.
the 392 just sounds so GOOOOOOOOD.....and I think it's the best combo for that car. I miss my 2012 SRT....hopefully 2020(Christmas 2019 ) I will be able to order myself one. AND BASED ON YOUR DRIVING! IT LOOKS LIKE THEY FINALLY FIXED THE SHIFTER TOO!!!

I literally picked a 2022 widebody challenger shaker , with a 6 speed manual because of this video ! Iv always been a mustang guy and yes power to weight ratio is better on ford and Camaro , none of those cars look as good as a shaker challenger imo! You just scream merricaaa 🇺🇸 lol.

Love seeing your vids since you drive on the same roads I do. I'm over in Westchester section of Colchester and grew up driving that section of 149 by the river, rt9, etc. I always thought it would be cool to have a closed-course rally in the area with some of the dirt roads and twisty asphalt.

Dream car. I've got the GT because I live in Syracuse where the winters are usually murder. I regret not going for the v8, i don't care rwd is dangerous in snow
I don’t blame you for going with the GT in Syracuse but in the future I’d recommend trying out a RWD car on snow tires. You’d be surprised how well they do, I have a Coyote Mustang on snow tires in New England right now and it’s doing amazing.

changed the exhaust as that can't be the stock exhaust, surely? :)
Totally stock exhaust, but I had an exterior mic setup. They really are VERY loud for a stock car though lol.

GLOCK BOY Hey man, I’m sorry to say the review is on hold for the next few weeks. The car in this video actually had a major engine failure at 3,700 miles. The dealership is working with the owner and they may get him a new car or put a new engine in his. Likely a factory defect from what they’ve said so far.
Knowing that, I’ll give you some impressions since you want an opinion. It is big. Very big, if you want something that feels nimble and spry this isn’t it. However, it’s surprisingly capable, and balanced for such a large car. Quite fast, wonderful transmission and stock exhaust note. Honestly, I’ll put it this way, if you just want a killer looking car that has pretty serious performance, and comfort, it’s best in class. It’s not going to beat the Mustang or Camaro around a track, but it could be more fun. The last true muscle car for sale today. As long as you aren’t expecting a sports car you will love it.
@@BuzzytheBlue I currently live in Central Wisconsin where all the roads are on a grid system with all 90 degree angles, and virtually no Curves in the roads at all. This sounds like it might be the better choice over the Mustang or Camaro, seems like it's a bit faster than both of those two in a straight line.
GLOCK BOY They’re all very similar in a straight line. So, to me, I’d be going with whichever one you like the look, feel, and interior of the most. I think it has the most character of the three honestly and an extremely comfortable interior.
Honestly you can’t go wrong with any of the three, I would say you should drive each before deciding.

Your video is making it hard for me to just get the Hellcat.
Depends how much you’re looking to spend and whether you’re going new or used. This 392 was bought brand new and loaaaaaded up over $50,000. At that price it’s used Hellcat all day for me. But, a lightly used 392 Scat for say, $30k, that makes a lot of sense.

Really depends on how you use it/where it's stored. If it's your daily driver and it isn't garaged I'd wash it at least once a week or whenever it gets dirty.

I think that depends if you have the 5.7 or 6.4 this is a 6.4 I believe
When you down shift, do you do the whole heel n toe thing? Or does the car do every thing on it's own?

Ahhh dude I’m not an amazing driver by any means. It’s 100% just practice and time behind the wheel. It’s a feel and muscle memory thing, once you can shift smoothly and quickly with consistency, start working on basic rev-matching on downshifts, then once you’re 100% comfortable with that, start working on heel-toe downshifts. It’s about treating every drive as a chance to practice.

Very easy. Bring someone along that knows it well and is a good teacher and you’ll be able to get around perfectly in like an hour or two. After that it takes maybe a week or two to get 100% comfortable.

Challenger why to get a manual edition
This car could almost get away with having a classic 4 speed mabey 5 speed, it sounds though like 4th gear is just outside of the powerband
Yeah I really like the feel and strength of the Tremec 6 speed in this car but I’m not a huge fan of the gearing. Even shifting at/near redline it seems to fall out of the powerband a bit. Versus the MT-82 in my GT (which is worse in every way but this lol) is really close ratio, only dropping about 1500rpm or so between shifts.
@@BuzzytheBlue which is weird because the hellcat going 3rd to 4th it does stay in the powerband. Now is that because it has roughly 300hp more? Is it geared different in the cat? Or is it that .3 of liter difference mean the 6.2 can spin slightly faster so that it stays on the power...
It must just be the power difference as it seems the 392 and Hellcat 6MTs are geared pretty similarly.

@@gonenotforgotten6089 Oh you definitely wouldn't want to short shift this if you're trying to go as fast as possible. The revs drop so much between gears that it almost falls OUT of the powerband, short shifting would only make this worse unfortunately. I think I just wish it was closer ratios. No big deal for 99% of people though.
