    I just washed it your way, using one tablespoon of vinager instead of two... Im impressed. My hair looks amazing, you can't tell I didn't use shampoo. You kind of saved my life and my environment here, thank you and thanks to Indian people as well.

    I've been struggling with dermatitis and have been using medicated shampoos most of my life. No matter what I used, my scalp would be itchy by the next day. This is honestly the first time I've felt any relief for my poor scalp. Like you, I am washing my hair once a week (never though would be possible!) and doing the rinse once a month. I have zero greasiness, dandruff or odour during the week either. Thank you so much for this method! I am converting everyone I know :)

    You can also use hibiscus leaves and guava leaves .Grind them in a mixer adding sufficient amount of water.

    Yup we Indians also use chickpea flour as a soap, leaves the skin soft and supple. U can also add raw milk or curd or boiled rice water or rose water as per ur liking instead of water.
    Also for shampoo we use a tsp of Shikakai, reetha , amla , hibiscus and Fenugreek mixed in plain water , soaked all night and heated for 2 min the next morning and then use it as a shampoo when in room temperature. Let it sit for 5 mins and then wash it off.
    I ve been doing all this since ages, so does my parents, ancestors and so on. We were non chemical centuries back and still feel responsible towards the world. Natural way is the best way.❤️❤️ Love to all from India ❤️❤️❤️❤️

    If you're no-poo, besan flour is a great way to get oil out of your hair after your weekly/semi-weekly/monthly oil treatment too. If you want, add an egg. Egg emulsifies oil and boosts the protein. Mix it with fermented rice water for amazing results. And if you REALLY want to stimulate your scalp and make it smell nice, add a tsp or so of cinnamon.

    Actually you can use gram flour/chick pea flour+rice flour mixture to wash your body too. It will be gentle on your skin and dont deprive your body of its natural oils. This is the basic you can add any number of ingredients like green gram flour, fullers earth, orange peel powder, neem powder etc. I use all of them together it gives me a big batch of bath powder and results are amazing. You will have fresh looking smooth skin after every use.

    Hi, interesting recipe, will try this out.
    Approx a month now, I have been washing my face with gram flour with few drops of honey. I mix fine gram flour and not so fine/ grainy gram flour together, it cleases my face wonderfully. And after that just wipe my face with ACV toner that I have made. My face skin has improved so much in such a short while. I also use rice water as a toner as well. Works great.
    Mentioned it if you'd like to try that.

    • @heatherweber531
      @heatherweber531 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      what type of skin do your have? what is your recipe for the rice water toner and the ACV toner. do these get rinsed off after applying?

    • @jyotis5732
      @jyotis5732 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@heatherweber531 Hi, my skin is a combination skin, T - zone being oily. It's good to test the ACV toner on a small portion to your skin to see if it's not too strong for you. If it's too strong it might give a burning sensation..if so, just dilute it with more water.
      ACV toner and Rice water are not to be rinsed.
      I wash my face with gram flour mixed with honey, tap dry and then using soft cleansing pads apply ACV toner, let it dry off and then apply rice water.. let it dry and apply lil cream mixed with olive oil.
      ACV toner :
      I make it the simple way, ACV + water.
      1.5 tsp of ACV
      (I use Bragg's Raw - unfiltered with "Mother" written on it).
      100 ml filtered water.
      I keep it in a glass bottle.
      (Ideal recipe is 1 or 2 tbsp ACV to 150 ml water). Quantity of water and ACV can be adjusted. You don't want it to be strong.
      Rice water:
      I prepare 100 ml rice water..
      So whenever you are going to cook rice, just wash it nicely and soak it with filtered water for more than half an hour to 1 hour, stir the rice a bit and pour that water to your spray bottle or a small bottle.
      Always Keep it in the refrigerator.
      My bottle lasts for 10-15 days. And it's good to keep lesser quantity so that it doesn't go bad.
      I do both ACV toner + rice water as ACV cleanses very well, removes bacteria and rice water has good nutrients.
      My skin quality has improved so much, and i don't feel the need to wash my face often also.
      I hope this suits you. ✨

    • @jyotis5732
      @jyotis5732 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@heatherweber531 Please note for ACV toner, I mentioned I use "tsp" for myself.. and ideal recipe suggests "tbsp". Just make sure it's not too strong. And test it on a small patch of skin before applying fully.😊✨

    • @yulana990
      @yulana990 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      ACV is NOT to be used for skin. It is an ASTRINGENT, meaning it dries the skin out and can irritate. That is why its populair who acne, but it is also harmful. Please don't spread information that can actually harm, irritate and damage skin. Someone's face is not like a scalp, vinegar is not for the face, even tea tree oil is safer for acne, and even tea tree is bad for the skin because its irritating!
      Rice water is fine but has no use for skin, its beneficial for hair. Also everyone should always wash their face 2x a day, you mentioned that you don't feel like you need to wash your skin a lot, but that's a sign of ACV being DRYING. It is an ASTRINGENT. If you are oily, focus on humectants, not creams, oils and astringents. Astringents dry you out, oils are way too heavy, it makes no sense.

    1. Pls wash thoroughly else the pwd bits can still be stuck to your hair ( this can be shaken off or combed out once the hair is dry)
    2. Pls take care to clean the drainage well with enough water as to avoid clogging in the future.
    3. This is not for daily shampooing. You can shampoo this way once is 2 days.

    Amazing! I just stumbled upon this video and would love to know if this recipe works for us ladies with itchy sensitive scalps. I can’t seem to find and shampoo or conditioner that my scalp likes.
    I know most natural products are better for sensitive skin in general but if there is anything specific for eczema on the scalp, that’d save me from this life time of suffering.

      I too have eczema on my scalp and my sister recently did me a head massage using 3 drops each of lavender and tee trea oil to a tblspoon of olive oil to see if it would help my incessant itching and oh my goodness, I did not itch for a whole 3 days!! It felt wonderful. As soon as the itching comes back I add a drop or 2 of each directly to my scalp and rub and the itchiness stops. Its greatly improved. Lavender essential oil is the only oil I understand, that can be applied directly on the skin but I found I was totally fine with the tea tree essential oil too. All the best!

    Hi there my lovely! I’ve tried this Gram flour shampoo. But I’ve changed it a bit, I used half Gram flour half Rye flour. I mixed this using boiling water & a hand blender. It was foaming , I let it cool then I transferred it into an old shampoo bottle for easy application. All I can say is wow !!!! I’m impressed it cleansed my hair sooooo well . Even though I oiled my hair the night before, waited 10min then rinsed my hair !! I’m happy with this & will continue to use it .😘👍

So now I’ve got a container with mixed flours in it (50/50) . 👍 Yes do try this ,, it left my hair very soft . Then applied some coconut oil while my hair was half dry.

    I have been following this method but found that my hair feels greasy again after 3 days, so I improvised and it worked for my oily scalp. I add 1tbsp apple cider vinegar to the 2.5tbsp chickpea flour now with some water, apply it into sectioned hair and let it dry into my hair for 30minutes minimum. Then I wash it with water. This made sure that my hair remains grease-free for a week.
    I alternate between apple cider vinegar and curd/yoghurt for alternate weeks so as to not make my hair too dry but also condition it with yoghurt. I'm completely shampoo free now and it reduced my shower hair fall. I love it!

    I absolutely love this recipe, so here's some things I learned for those of you just trying it out!:
    1. The flour will sometimes get stuck in your hair, but it'll come out once your hair dries!
    2. I've found that in order to get most of it out IN the shower, to rinse it out, brush my hair, and rinse again.
    3 (just for the no-poo method in general). I would invest in a boar bristle brush as it helps to distribute your natural sebum (the oil buildup on the scalp) down the hair and keep it moisturized.
    4. (Again for the no-poo method in general). I only 'wash' (use this method) about once every week, I've found that anything more than that can make my hair a bit dry.
    5. Try to sleep with your hair in a braid as much as possible, as it helps keep your hair tangle free and shiny!
    I've been using this method for a little over 3 weeks now (and I've been shampoo free for about 3 months) and my hair and health have never been better, the only time my hair is truly 'greasy' is when I'm under a lot of stress or I'm sick. Other than that, I use a very small amount of oil after the shower and my hair is super shiny. Thanks for sharing this method!

    Great informative video! I was just wondering can you prepare the chickpea flour shampoo beforehand in batches? Or should it be prepared on day of?

      Frighten doesn’t store well... I make on day of use. It gets harder the long it is sitting

      Thanks for replying back!! And after three days, I noticed the need for cleansing my hair again. I live in a humid area though it's winter but still, the greasiness creeps into my hair faster. I cannot explain that feeling and today again I cleansed my hair. However I had given my hair a hair rinse for that earlier.

      Hello, please advise if using chikpea flour removes oil from hair?

    • @deepikas5123
      @deepikas5123 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ashananjundan6690 chickpea flour will absorb excess oil. Incase u have dry skin/scalp it will dry it out further.

    Please do something to get thicker & stronger hair for fine hair people . I will give this method a try for a month. Can I use styling products? I mean I heat style my hair once or twice a month utmost

      my hair is fine and this worked to thicken it up.

    Loved your video. Can I use coconut oil instead of argane oil?

    • @FairylandCottage
      @FairylandCottage  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      gayatrik1985 ah yeah. Might be more greasy but will work. The thing with coconut oil is that is it not actually a moisturiser( even though many people use as one) so it may sit on the hair rather than absorb in. X

    Love cooking with gram flour but the results on my digestive system shortly after are definitely not good for the environment 😂 this could solve my plastic free bathroom and the tin of flour I am not using in one swoop! Might experiment with using veg glycerin as a suspension? Might that work?

    • @FairylandCottage
      @FairylandCottage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      hummm not sure about the glycerin but that is only because I haven't tried before...
