    I only had the chickpea flower, it worked fine, but it was a little bit too drying for my skin. I made a mask of it with some green tea powder and some vitamine C powder I once bought. I use it once or twice a week for a deep rinse, following with some rosewater and a drop of glycerine. The latter is wonderful when you are prone to dry skin. I also noticed that rosehip oil is quite drying too, so I also use that together with some glycerine to keep my skin moist. It works really well! Thank you for the advice! Never would thought to use chickpea flower. When I used all of it, I will probably try oat flower. Its fantastic to finally begin to discover what works. I love natural things, but not all things work just as well for any skin!

    What a beautiful video! I used to have a medicine cabinet FULL of skin care products but for the last few years I've been really consistent with my minimalist practice and now I only use two things: dr. bronner's soap (just a tiny bit) to wash my face and then I use coconut oil to moisturize. About twice a month I will do my coffee facial (coconut oil + coffee grounds fresh from morning coffee) for exfoliation. I feel sooooo good about my simple skincare routine these days, and I love that half the things I use I get out of my own kitchen! Lots of love from Northern California! xoxo

    Thank you so much!! I made this (without the chamomile and lavender as i couldnt get any) and have been using for about 3 weeks now. It has been fantastic!!! Best thing i have ever used on my skin. I have had acne since teenage years and it never went away no matter what i used..my skin is so much clearer..i havent had any breakouts...what a miracle!!! The only thing left on my skin is the scarring from all the acne i have had in the past. Thank you thank you thank you all the way from New Zealand!!

    I'm the kind "splash of water in the face and ready" girl, but it's nice to see what natural options are, specifically for sensitive skin. Maybe I usually use only water because I don't think all the chemicals that sell you in typical cleansers and creams will help my skin in any way, just damage it. So thank you very much for these options.

    I used to wash my face in the shower with a homemade soap bar and moisturize with a store bought daily vegan face cream (inexpensive local cruelty free brand). My skin is so dry so I've started experimenting with oils and using your face cleaning powder. I still have more experimenting to do, but so far it's going well and it's interesting. I'm not sure what the benefit of a toner is, though, so I haven't used it for years. Still learning :-)

    My morning skincare routine consists of rinsing my face with water, applying toner, and following up with my thinnest and most fast sinking products. Currently, that is Marine Hyaluronics by The Ordinary. Then use a thicker serum and do a depuffing face massage with a super smooth stone I keep in the freezer. I take it out before I start and by the time I want to use it, the stone reaches a perfect temperature. I've noticed my blue undereye area isn't as blue anymore. After the massage, caffeine undereye serum. Works absolute wonder on me. Then I go in with one of my oils or a rose+HA cream. I never skip sunscreen unless the UV index shows 0 or 1. I check daily. It's not a simple short routine but it's not complicated either. Knowing the chemistry behind everything makes it a lot less complicated.

    Dear Niamh, have you ever used normal skincare? Or do you ever used organic skincare? I have used normal products and changed my skincare now, because in the normal products are soo many bad ingredients. Now I have a question to you: I always have many old normal skincare products, but I don't want to use them any longer. Mostly I would toss them away, but is this right? What would you do? Would you toss them in the trashcontainer or would you use them till they are empty even if there are really bad ingredients in there. I am 52 years old women from Germany (please forgive me my english mistakes) an I will do my best to stay healthy. Your channel is so motivational!!!! I've made "witch hazel" at home before, using just the witch hazel and water. I used it to help soothe my newborns baby acne. You have to keep it in the refrigerator but I found it to be very soothing. If you are interested I suggest googling the process. It's easy.

  • @Uapa500

    My morning routine is really quick and easy, both cos I'm in a rush and not awake enough to think straight: just rinse my face with water and that's it 😅
    Though, if it's really cold and I feel my skin is dry I'll put a cream on it (still need to finish off gift creams I received) or, recently, a sun cream (I get over tanned in few spots of my face, cos of chicken pox I had just 3 years ago, grrr).
    In the evening I tend to be more deep, with bar soap and rose water, cos I work in a kitchen and it's quite greasy, though I use the soap just every other day to not dry my skin too much.
    Night cream (another gift), not every night, to not make my face too greasy.
    Delicate balances eh 😅

    • @FairylandCottage
      @FairylandCottage  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Malyshka Rib yeah think the alcohol free witch hazel is better. Just be careful not to make it too strong with the acv. It may stop the oil production but will create an imbalance in the skin.

    Pores don't open and close, they have no tissue that regulates such an activity. This is a misconception that spread like wildfire and used to get people to think that hot water was great for their skin. The misconception stemmed from the fact that muscles clench and relax from hot and cold water. Pores don't. The only thing warm water can do is very very lightly loosen the sebum to help cleanse a little bit. Steam doesn't open pores and cold water doesn't close or tighten them at all.

      Are you a skin specialist? Interesting what you wrote.
      I use minimum skin care.
      Only showergel and a natural
      mild skin tonic. Am 67 and my
      skin is good no wrinkles. Never
      sunbathe either. So boring.

      Does that mean toners are pointless?

    • @111-k4d9m
      @111-k4d9m 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@violettiger21 I have used a toner
      only most of my life. Although
      always a very mild one. ( Rose
      Water based) and Bio. Never had
      any problems with it. I feel if
      a person likes something just
      use it, eat it or wear it. If you
      eat or use something and it
      does not agree with you then
      just stop. We cannot always
      believe/do something because
      someone says it is this or that.
      Using ones intuition is the best
      choice I feel.

    I’m a rough around the edges guy. Not generally one for facial routines, but this has inspired me to take care of my 40 something year old face.
    I’ll be interested in seeing the rose oil how to.
    Are there certain roses that are to be used for rose water and rose oil?

    • @FairylandCottage
      @FairylandCottage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      bobsuruncle oohh I've never made rose oil but that would be very interesting to research. Rose water is simple just boil Rose leaves for bit and then strain.

      Ah I can't really recommend the company because I find it a bit yellow and my last rosehip oil was more neutral in colour. In saying that it is organic and in glass Intelligent Cosmetics is the company...

      I can't answer for her--but i only put organic, cold pressed oils on my skin. I have been using the "Life-Flo Pure Rosehip Seed Oil" for years. I couldn't recommend it enough! You can order it online, it is pretty in-expensive. Plus, it comes in a re-usable glass bottle. Win-win😍 Wishing you all the best💖😊

      Hey there, I'm not a huge fan of the brand I bought from. It's a UK brand called Intelligent Cosmetics. It is organic and in glass but it is very rich and slightly orange in colour when it goes on your face. I had used others that were not so orange. In saying that, it is very good though!

    • @violettiger21
      @violettiger21 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Near me there is a specialist indian curry supply shop that sells their rosewater in glass bottles, I'm assuming food-grade rosewater is suitable for the face, so I was planning on getting some of that bect. Maybe see if you have any specialist shops near you? Otherwise Amazon?
