I was absent from tw3k community for few months bc of how painful the halting of the game development was, but I love this game to much, the historical x fantasy mashap just works so great in total war series, I can't wait for more of your episodes, and It pleases me to hear that your voice is much healthier then when playing Chinese parents back in the good old days!
I was absent pretty much the entire last two years. I still can't bring myself to play it. Maybe once we finally hear something about the next game, I'll go back to it til the next game launches.
I've been so excited about this campaign since it first appeared on your vote. He Yi was my first playthrough with pre-order and I loved playing the turbans (even tho He Man is way to overpowered 😁) The idea with the peasant only involving into better units as soon as they rank up to 10 is a great idea. I played Warhammer 3 lately and my all time favorite is archon with the new warband system.
Hello. I am Ali from Iran. I love the story of three kingdoms, but unfortunately I can't use this game because of poverty. It is good for me to see your video.
Serious Trivia, you are just the TH-camr I was looking for. A lot of let’s plays either don’t know what they’re doing or do know about the game but don’t explain their actions. You know the game but are willing to explain it to those who don’t. The fact that you also pronounce names correctly is a bonus.
He Man is the most amusing character name I've seen so far, aside from the ones that are silly in English, like the very first settlement name I saw in my first campaign as Zhurong is her starting town of Longdong. I mentally use the Chinese pronunciation for He Yi and most of the other names, but He Man is absolutely pronounced as it would be in English like the cartoon character. I almost wish there was a Greyskull reference or something, but what's in the game is still plenty amusing. This campaign should be interesting, and give an overview of what to expect in a total war achievement run as He Yi, though the 194 start date rather than the 190 that I'm going with for my attempt at the achievement
Yay! The return of the Three Kingdoms’ legend >:333 Starting off with the New Year, a usual question! How did opera work before the Qing Dynasty, where people doesn’t cut their beard?
If you worked a job that required you to cut your beard then you would just cut your beard. Also not everyone grows beards (or at least not full/long ones)
So that's where Huang Zu starts in AWB. He's gone on a fucking adventure and I still haven't found him in my TUP/MTU playthrough as Sun Ce. I've already entered the Three Kingdoms period(and it's Song, Wei, and Wu this time, as Yuan Shao was is still around and decently powerful), and Huang Zu lost his territory to me but his army disappeared and he fucked off to the south by like Shi Xie. Hopefully the Nanman don't kill him before I drop a 1-turn merc army on him. Luckily I've completed enough ambitions to stave off the reckless luck decay, but that half-completed "Bandits and Murderers" ambition taunts me.
I know this is a year or more late, but that is a very vivid image. Sun Ce, half insane stalking through the wilderness of southern China shouting “HAUNG ZU YOU MOTHERFUCKER, I AM GOING TO FIND YOU! AND WHEN I DO, YOU ARE A DEAD MAN.”
It's the nature of the country. China is huge in terms of territory. Lots of room for rebellion to survive and never truly die. Or for rebellions to be formed against the so called ruling class.
@@Bloodlyshiva Not just territory, but China has allways been one of the most populated and population dense countries in the world in comparison to other countries at any single point in history, so it makes sense that wars in general could turn out to be so bloody.
You might want to use the "Yellow Turbans Restored" mod someone made for me. It Fixes some of the Yellow Turban lords having their attack speed halved by a bug.
Conduct makes sense, personally though I would think you should be able to recruit Nanman officers and Bandit officers. I could see them joining the Yellow Turban "bandits," since they're against the Han.
Isn't any Yellow Turban Campaign "this is Total War" anyway? xD joke aside I love the theme of Yellow Turbans and curious to see how you will manage mid to late game empire building, I usually burn out really fast because of lack of ways to deal with corruption..
Whats the most common weapons Generals use? I mean for example Guan Yu, I can’t see him using a spear….. like what sort of heavy type weapon? Is a video like that possible? Also i wonder once you are done with all Three Kingdoms, will you move to other dynasties? The darkest era would be interesting (After Jin dynasty) i recall its the 5 kingdoms? But pretty sure it was before Sui dynasty
@@SeriousTrivia everytime i see Guan Yu I can’t see him anything but someone who is big, and when i see spear, it makes me keep on seeing it as something small
Perhaps an additional rule. If your peasant units "ascend" to more powerful units at rank 10, should one of those more powerful units get wiped completely it must be deleted. Technically none of the ascended peasants are alive anymore.
I am going to pass although I highly doubt anyone would ever get fully wiped especially since I will be gunning for a lot of unbreakable units unless we straight up lose an army which then I guess I would be willing to go back to all peasants for the resummon
I very rarely play Yellow Turbans or Nanman. I play with gotta catch them all mod and all the big mods like MTU etc. So if use the mod to recruit them and vice versa they are missing armor textures etc. Also dont like fact they have just there own recruiting pool with is stupid.
yes Liu Pi should have been active along with He Yi and the gang but the game only added him with mandate of heaven and never grouped him with the Yellow Turban DLC crew
@@SeriousTrivia I mean, in other total war you will find some "favourite" provinces (like hizen/owari in shogun 2 or altdorf/Quintex in warhammer 2). In 3K its hard to create an specific and unique county that feels special, and more with the confusing building system, with everything has sinergy with everything, creating the same provinces buildings untile there is some smithing/horse. By far the only province ive found to feel special is somewhere at south of china.
It is a very different approach compared to other total war games for sure. It is a mixture of uneven playable factions (like you have the top tier three kingdoms factions of Liu Bei, Cao Cao, and Sun Jian with a lot of history and potential for unique buildings and then you have filler factions that were never ever historically relevant such as Kong Rong, Yan Baihu, and Tao Qian where you have nothing to base unique building or even favored province off of) and the fact that "unique" building just wasn't really a thing during this period except for certain palace and forts.
Instead of lancers take archers, if you use your heroes to keep busy the enemy armies, while you and the enemies are at range of the archers, you can have more quickly victory with MUCH less loses. After all Archers are pretty OP XD
@@SeriousTrivia If you change your army you will have it more tha THREE THOUSAND archers! I'm pretty sure, even if they're all blind, with all that arrows they CAN'T miss the target!
@@rosalbafuda5234 my logic is that since we have great replenishment, bodies is a better currency for us than arrows. If you look at the damage spread. Base damage is just not worth it on the peasant warriors and peasant archers. We get 47 armor piercing and 10 base damage on the spearmen which equals roughly 54 damage on average (assuming enemy armor is around 30%). They can also dismount enemy generals and go through their 50-70% armor. We just don’t care about casualties since we heal 50% every turn.
@@rosalbafuda5234 also peasant archer damage is 22/6 with only 16 ammo. They would kill nothing….even with 6000 archers per army. Say all the arrows hit in one unit of 240 units against a 30% armor enemy who has 144K health. Your total damage for perfect hits is 82K damage….
@@SeriousTrivia well now when i started it, you only start with 2 pieces of land and you dont have Huang Shao. Dont think you have Pei yuanshao either if im not mistaken. I might be out of my depth here but idk xD
like I said, his army will retreat instead of taking the fight if you do not delete units which would drag your army into that forest and you would end up without enough movement to get back to the iron mine or fight Gan Ning
