Your videos help me tremendously. Anytime I'm in GarageBand working on a project and I can't figure something out, I search you channel and always find the answer. Thank you so much Patrick! ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for the video Patrick. I just tend to use the master track presets as I tend to get confused when trying to do it myself. It would be good if you please could do a simple step by step guide on mastering which I could follow whilst mastering. Many thanks
Can you do one for the iOS version. I use GB iOS and the main issue I’m having is setting the proper volume for all my tracks before bouncing the project for mastering stage. Please help.
Your videos are quite valuable to me, and I appreciate checking in and learning something new. Thank You!! I admit I've gotten in the (bad?) habit of including the "master" track in what is my final "mix." Exporting the mix to AIFF, re-importing it and then adding the master track is apparently preferred. Is it essentially the same signal flow? One obvious danger to doing it at once is after including the master track, it's tempting to adjust individual elements of the mix, which was supposedly "final." Are there other benefits, sonic, psychological, or otherwise to exporting then importing so you're dealing exclusively with the mix and master separately? Additionally, why would or wouldn't use the Export Project at Full Volume option in Preferences? When? Pre-mix? Pre-master? Final mastered mix? Again, thank you for your all your work in helping musicians and headphone-wearing button-pushers around the world.
Hi there, love your video. I'm new to garage band. I have a question you may think is ridiculous, but here goes. When I've mastered my track, after recording it, when I press play I don't hear the mastered track, I just hear my mixed track. I don't know what I'm doing wrong or just not doing. Please can you help ?
Love your channel and style, and of course your accent! (I'm Canadian). However, one can, as I prefer, create your own fade out using automation so it happens where you want it to rather than relying on the preset. I'm trying to figure out how to take the hotness/clip out of certain part of the vocal, and moreover, I'm noticing that GB 10.2 records the vocals in an almost distorted treble tone. Looking for how to fix or avoid that. I'm pretty new to GB and your series is immensely helpful. Thanks!! I gave you thumb love, don't worry!
Apart from reducing pressure on the cpu, what advantages are there exporting a wav or aiff into a new project for Mastering? I don’t really see the point. Thanks
I am using Garage Band to do an audiobook. I do not use head Phones as I like to experience the room sound. I sounds great to me. Then I pit head phones on and it sounds like MUD!! Can you help?
Why, after I export my mix as a WAV or Mp3 file, I am unable to bring it back into GarageBand to master it? I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. :(
That was great! Thank you! Quick question- I am having problems with recording a track that is only panned to left or right. Of the 7 tracks it only happened to two tracks. not sure how to get it panned to both left and right- any suggestions?
Hello,If it’s possible you could reply to me I wanted to ask you something. I make music and I’m taking the next ste to upgrading from my phone to a Mac so which Mac do you have that’s best for GarageBand. Like just tryna make sure I pick a good one...I saw that “MacBook Air 13.3 inch laptop” with the Apple m1 chip. Don’t know if that’s a good one. Could you let me know I could really use the advice and suggestions
Hello! I have that exact Model, and I use GarageBand all the time and it's very good. The sound is very crispy and clear. Not including Garageband, the performance and speed are very good too. I definitely recommend it.
@@mrbeatmusic105 Thanks for replying to me & okay I will check it out. Also I been meaning to ask another question..will the model already have the right version and everything installed already?like I won’t have to update anything will I?
I’d completely agree - any of the new M1 MacBook/Mac Mini/iMac models will be able to run GarageBand with no problems. As far as I know all M1 Macs ship with the latest version of macOS installed. You may need to download GarageBand from the Mac App Store, but it will be the most up to date version.
not a good answer... i know how to open and select from menu choices... how do you export, do you record it or is it a global effect that is "on". your answer stops short of helping beginners...
I was butchering my Master tracks and they did not sound pleasing. Now that I've watched your video Patrick, they don't suck anymore. Big Thanks!
Great to hear Rich, cheers!
Love your accent. Pauses, enunciation, I'm a non-native speaker, and it's very easy to understand. Also, so funny =)
It would be great to see a series of videos on how to approach mixing with stock plugins. To cover whole process from start to finish.
Sounds like a plan! 👍
That would be fantastic!
@@projekt1824 Agree, that would be very useful!!
@@TheGaragebandGuide A free plugins Vs paid for Vs Apple stock perhaps?

Great idea to bounce down project and bring it back into fresh session.

First track sounds like Pixies meeting Kings of Leon 👍
Is it a good idea to master the original track then export/ import to remaster again?
Hi Pat how ya doing mate? Yes I'd love to see some vids on mixing with stock plugins cheers!
Im still learning garage band but how did i learn what i know so far? clicking everything....lol
So it’s basically mixing bus? As far as I can tell. Then you bounce a wave and master the total bounced track
