So helpful to watch your Garage Band workshops. I have learnt and applied so much to my own music production when using GarageBand.

Thanks for the great video. Can we automate 2 effects on the same track, say reverb and echo? If so how?

Can you write automation/record volume automation with a modwheel in midifiles in GarageBand, or draw with your mouse?

    • @TheGaragebandGuide

      Yes, absolutely.

    • @liesbetleroy

@@TheGaragebandGuide I mean with recording over the original track or by drawing with your mouse instead of writing dots and linking them, just like Logic can?

If that is possible, I would be so grateful if you told me how to, I’ve been searching the whole internet and found nothing, so that’s why I think it is not possible?

My tip for using automation: do it last, because it will overtake the track volume adjustment and make the overall mixing more difficult as it already is without mixing console.

Thank you for the great video, couple questions though. Is there any way to loop the automation line with a track? also any suggestions for copy and pasting the automation points if command c/v is not working? (version 10.4.8) any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Patrick. For the first time ever i'm encountering a problem. I've not used any automation whatsoever on any tracks yet my drums are going to a really low volume when a guitar comes in. It's like the song is mixing all by itself . I've tried everything to sort this......🤪 Cheers....

Hi band, could you please tell me how to automate the volume of a live recording using kontakt instruments? As oppose to manually automating by setting the dots, to be able to automate volume as you record through Maybe a plug-in? Does that exist, i mean, it has fo right? Thank you!

Please help me understand how to automate a vocal track in 360 using the Dear Reality VR Micro plugin. I watched a bunch of videos on it and no one explains the process. I also noticed they have a section with a drop down menu on the plugin itself when they are demoing it, but mine does not have that section at all. My plugin is up to date.

I'm really having trouble recording vocals on garageband iPad. (Since I don't have plug-ins like mics and others) is there a way you can record a clear vocal and edit (especially the editing part and pitch correct). Or is there an app like Music memos (which was removed by Apple) that can do a good job? Please anyone, help me on this. I just do beats/ instrumentals currently.

Hey Patrick, been playing with automation on a mix. Is there a way to adjust the volume in 1db increments? Trying to drag the line up and down I’m lucky if I can get it to move less the 3db. Feel like i must be doing something wrong. Cheers 😀

Hey mate, just have a small question. After recording the automation live, it records it in the background and plays back as instructed...i can also see the relevant parameter moving up and down in the faded background of the automation line. But even when i choose the wanted automation parameter in the dropdown, it doesn't show the recorded automation so that i can edit it to taste with the mouse. ie record by tweaking the knob but then want to go back and edit by drawing with the mouse... is there some reason for this?
