True Gaebolg is gimmick at best. Grunge Storm is better in every case. Also... Blos is good if you can stay on the weak point 24/7 (Skill intensive of course) but I don't think it's worthwhile in the most case. The 3 hit of Triangle - O (or 4th hit if you use stab - O - O) is pretty troublesome and might lead to the sharpness drop really fast. Pretty similar case to Blos hammer they discussed in this video. I think Ruin (and Styx) is another good alternative if you are willing to play peak performance.
Oooh, that sounds nice. I'm pretty comfortable with my build currently. I'll post it when I get home after work. It operates off "Styx" and the gems I have in it allow for charm versatility.

@@sam-eg4nn From my tests, meta raw glaives like Cane Ruin, Grunge Storm (yes, I count it as a raw glaive) or Tyrannis outperform elemental glaives on any single monster but Kulve. How do you guys feel about Earplugs builds? I especially like having EP on my hammer builds (b/c I'm typically right by their face smacking them around). I know that I take a hit on the calculated DPS but I like how it buys me more opportunities to pull off a golf-swing combo while the monster is busy making noise.
Builds should always account for playstyle. Naturally the lads aren't going to cover mathematically sub-optimal builds, but anything that streamlines your playstyle and makes your runs more consistent is a good decision.
Great video guys! I would really like to see bowgun builds, you could make a "Best pierce, spread and cluster" video all in one maybe? Would really like to see the optimal HBG builds since thats my main weapon :)
I did use Max might on hammer on a set a few days ago before this vid and I'm glad to see you guys made this vid since that means I wasn't being a derp. I came to the conclusion that is useful since unless you charge your attack for more than half the gaugue it goes back to full for the finishing hit and the other moves don't drain stamina and that allows I think for 100% affinity hammer builds with Diablos hammer. Now I'm gonna watch the vid to see if you guys did think the same.
Damn bro... I pretty much got all the jewels or atleast 2 of each by the time I reached 300hrs in the game... Maybe u shud get into gem sniping bro.. I didn't have to cus I gt lucky with RNG.
@@Bajancheese90 i just farmed greatest jagras a load of times, got a few of everything now. the glutton destroys him as seen in a guide on this channel
As a note, if you want to build earplugs onto your hammer build, the KT Sleep Hammer is really the only option. You cannot build earplugs onto Diablos Shatterer along with the Behemoth armor and +4 Handicraft without giving up something essential like Wexploit. You can quite comfortably fit earplugs onto the KT Sleep Hammer though, you'll just need to give up a few more minor skills.
Talk about DPS of hammer in light of Earplugs 5, where your control is a player who misses the roll through every roar. It's one of the few weapons that can't combo through a roar... CB can GP, GS can shoulder-bash, lance/GL/Sns can lmao, HBG has a massive I-frame roll or it can block, bow 's attacks are quick so you can dodge a lot, LS can weeb-dodge, IG can lessen the downtime of roar stun by being knocked down midair... LBG, DB, SA and HH are the only others that get shafted by roars if you can't roll well.
Not buying max might unless I solo. Even then a lot of the time I be charging and running around a little bit before i release the attack because I don't play cleanly. Hell I even main hammer for over a decade now and I still cant get good enough to charge and release in time if I dont precharge and run around.
Blos and sleep hammer still beat all the ele hammers. Hammer has the second highest MVs, behind GS. So its an extremely raw focused weapon, the elementals don't keep up.
I wish you also had some sort of side note about what the highest efr builds would be if you weren't running all the standard atk buffs. As a semi-casual player, the only real atk buffs I use are the inventory and eating bonuses, meaning the diminishing returns of atk stacking theoretically aren't hitting me as hard.
non TA hammer speedruns on non AT monsters typically make use of affinity booster. Because you can stunlock and kill inside the affinity booster cloud before it dissipates, you generally use diablos hammer sets without max might and affinity augments. Instead you get that last point of crit damage, peak performance and dmg augments.
Have you looked at the rarity 6 kulu taroth hammer before? Base 35% affinity and 3 aug slots lets you hit 100% without even using weakness exploit, and can still hit white sharpness and a lot of space to get raw attack up (to the point that you run out of skills to slot in but still have slots left, which let me sneak in a brace jewel for multiplayer purposes). I find it helpful against monsters where the weak point is a bitch to hit (even if it doesn't hit the same damage numbers as the shatterer)
Finally got all the parts, but then I saw it was doing crappy damage. I went "Why is it only hitting for 22 a hit?" But then I hit the monster on it's head and got over 200-300 damage and went "OHHHHHHHHH that's why" lmao. Great guide overall, I love the Taroth Hammer "Sleep" so much.
By any chance is there a speed run with kjarr hammer thunder on kulve iv been using currently it does pretty nice damage on the bitch with her gold mantle on
So Slugger isn't a must have skill at best? Hmm good to know definitely gonna try mixing it up with Max Might and maybe some part breaker for some if not all my hunts thanks for the info and builds
Can we see a variety of SnS meta sets, as well as understanding the effects of certain skills (such as slugger) and other questionable skills on the SnS's moveset? That would be awesome. I find the SnS to deal lots of damaged as opposed to the general idea it is a weak weapon. However, I've had trouble mathematically min-maxxing the set for DPS. Thanks MH Math guys!
So without a Handicraft deco or the Taroth Sleep, is the Diablos hammer still worth using? Does this exact set but without the white sharpness still outperform all the other options?
So I had a build with kushala y headpiece for level 5 handicraft that hits harder than the 1st diablos build but my guess is with the lower affinity it could hit blue sharpness faster killing its overall damage? Even though it seems to have a decent amount of white sharpness hits.
Would it be the same if I changed 2 tenderizers out for mighty and then changed the charm to exploiter? I also have no expert jewels. How can I fix this?
