Did you see my Ancient Leshen Strategy Guide? th-cam.com/video/xvSC7M4lHBs/w-d-xo.html "To reach higher damage than sleep on the Diablos Shatterer, you can take a second affinity augmentation and then trade out one level of maximum might for the third level of critical boost." -Omega Fade
You know, if you are fighting Nergigante you don't need max might, because you can just replace it with, very surprisingly, sliding affinity (not sure if that's the name in English, but you get what I mean). I mean, by doing that you get 30% affinity, which is as much as you get from max might, but you get to save 2 slots for whatever else you want. Also, you're gonna slide a lot in the area where Nergi starts, so activating it is not a problem
Gotta say man, just started watching your content the other day, and I really like your calm voice combined with the undertale music in the background, it feels like your videos were made for me
You don't quite need Flinch Free on Hammer. Power Charge gives you a sorta super armor effect against Teammates while in a Charge or Attacking Anim. If you're slow on the draw then sure, take Flinch Free but it isn't entirely necessary. Just focus on the primary skills of your build. Flinch Free is just a nice bonus if you have room... (You won't).
Kulve taroth is a real pain for people that started playing late, I have almost none of its weapons and no way to farm for them. I'm reaching a point where the most efficent way to play would just to not play until the Golden Girl comes back
@@altromonte15 It comes out almost every month... If you just started playing then you don't even need the weapons yet. Maybe start working on the deco farm instead.
You can actually turn the whole 180° when doing a slide into the airborne spin. So if your sliding downhill, you can release the air spin uphill. That's how I killed Rathalos in the arena. Works great on Nerg too.
I was really tired, i started the video and 20 seconds later i fell asleep, your voice is no relaxing and nice! And your videos are really good keep up the good content ☺
Diablos shatterer 2 > taroth sleep, i killed 2500 monsters with the hammer and at some point you learn to effectively work with the low white sharpness. The DS2 build shows you how clean you play. Also keeping up peak performance up is horrible against some of the at monsters. But i like this list a lot. The kjarr numb hammer in a 4 player team is crazy in a nergigante fight, you can get 1:30 ish runs with it. Nergigante is constantly between paralysis, ko and spikebreaks.
i like that you did mention the other 90% players bc i am one of those im into the game but im not tryharding dont hav the time just chill an kill. glad to have seen this vid hope you post more like this for us regular chill folk
I think there's another aspect that hasn't been presented. And that's the affinity booster. If the monster doesn't have a huge amount of health, it is possible for the diablos hammer to surpass teo sleep by trading affinity skills for peak performance, reaching insane amounts of damage while the booster is active. But yeah, not gonna use this on the ancient leshen ^^.
I use empress styx hammer with Teo gamma helm Drachen mail Drachen arms Bazel coil beta Empress leg beta Earplug charm With minds eye and brace jewel. Makes most hunts like a walk in the park.
You can circumvent the need for 100% affinity and masters touch, you can just gem protective polish and have a minute and half no sharpness loss per sharpening
Personal I would use empress mace ruin, yeah it doesn't do as much damage as the others, but the survivability it gives is nice. I'm primarily a bow user trying too branch out, going to be trying long shelling gunlance, and this hammer build. Love your content man keep it up
But what I'm wondering now is... if I do want to put some health boost or stuff like that on the diablos shatterer and lose affinity in exchange, would the Empress Ruin do better damage at that point, especially considering the less frequent sharpening?
Index 154 that’s why I use the Styx, no sharpening ever with a masters touch build either drachen or three piece teostra, consistent white sharpness and it hits hard af with peak performance and the rest of my build
I totally agree on health boost. Even 2 levels of it means you can survive a lot of one hit kills and oh boy, unless you got a monster attack patterns down to a T, you WILL get hit.
As a non-speedrunner, having to stop and sharpen isn't really a big deal, and doesn't really factor into which hammer I use. White sharpness is great, but without having the almighty meta drachen set to keep it up it becomes a real pain spending so many slots on Handicraft. Slots that could be used for utility or survival.
I want to add a couple of sets to this for facing KT, both run Teostra Y for latent power and full crit eye plus masters touch (latent power is overlooked in my opinion, especially against KT since it’s generally a longer fight you get multiple procs even without the 180 damage taken total procs included). My first set for her first three phases start with lightning bash III (Tobi kadachi hammer since I don’t have the kjarr thunder variant as of yet but it still does great damage) with a destroyer gem slotted in. Helmet has two crit jewels, chest has one crit jewel, gloves have handicraft, waist has two bolt jewels, legs have a destroyer and bolt jewel, and the charm is a handicraft charm. Final skills are full crit eye, full latent power, level 4 handicraft, level three thunder attack (cap), two points in destroyer and one weakness exploit. I augmented the hammer for three affinity increases. The goal is to do jumping attacks in the first area and Big Bang combos when she’s knocked down by rocks, sliding attacks at the slope in area two, and jumping attacks and Big Bang combos in area three. Area two is where you shine as when she’s molten each level three charged sliding attacks hits for over 150+ per hit plus 400+ when you land with the final hit. Very easy to break the tail and hip plating with this and occasionally the chest when she lunges or does her frontal body slam, and it’s great for breaking her horn plating and if you choose you can also utilize the wedge beetles for head hits to try and mount since the hammer hits in the air so hard as you covered in your video. My next build is for her last phase which utilized the kjarr hammer ice and replaces the chest piece with the kushala Y piece and the legs for Teostra beta. 3 crit boost in the helmet and chest again, handicraft on the gloves, two expert jewels in the waist and one frost jewel in the legs. This gives you full crit eye full latent power level 4 ice attack (cap) level four handicraft again, full crit boost, one evade extender which is an additional skill that could be useful but not entirely necessary and crit element with again 50% base affinity. The hammer has an affinity augment as well. My usual strategy is to focus the tail in this area to get the break if it already hasn’t occurred, and trying to stay near her chest while she does most of her laser breath attacks as she is vulnerable to a Big Bang combo or triangle combo at those instances. I’m not very good at doing aerial in this phase but each hit on her head with a Big Bang goes on average 180+ per hit with the last hit doing close to 500 damage as well as KO build up. You have to be very careful with this portion since she’s a lot more mobile and take advantage of her pauses in between attacks. The latent power is the icing on the cake when it procs as it allows for full crit a every swing along with masters touch not diminishing your sharpness. It is very rare that I need to sharpen either set during a phase with the exception of possibly her first phase since she isn’t molten generally so body hits tend to take away a little more sharpness when masters touch doesn’t proc but overall it’s very, very damaging and satisfying to beat her to death with said sets
Haven’t played this game in over a year until last week and who else is surprised this game still has many players? I forgot how much I loved this game
Any tips for starting out online? I’ve gone through solo up to the 3 elders (teostra etc. I forget the other 2 spellings) I’m always a little intimidated that I’ll be the one that faints and ruin the run for everyone, especially as I’m so new compared to everyone that is a year deep. None of my mates would play this no matter how much I rave about it, which is a lot! So it’ll have to be randoms. And to be fair, Monster Hunters system for matchmaking is a little odd. Should I wait a little longer to rank up? Should I bring anything that isn’t obvious or wouldn’t be needed solo? Do most people use mics? Or should I stop being a baby and just jump in? Thanks in advance and sorry it’s a little off topic.
Start your quests and fire a sos, you will get players that want to play multiplayer and the quest you are doing. So there will be little bad things happening, since the players know what they are getting in to :)
Thanks guys. I'm usually all for multiplayer and don't care what people think, but Monster Hunter really does put that pressure on me for some reason. Even when I used to "fake" local play on the psp using Kai (or something similar.) I'll try the SOS system first for ease and see how I fair. As for the community, it really does seem like a friendly, mature group. It sounds like I'm set for another 100 hours (minimum!) Thanks for the replies. 😊
if you're maining a weapon that flinches alot you just need to mind your positioning, otherwise you're good.People generally don't use mics but try to use the stickers for example if someone does something good or if you fail. Have fun boi!
So, if you have the choice between using the diablos shatterer II or the devils crush, and dont have any behemoth armor, which one would you rather take? Cause i cant get the kulve hammer on first place. Or is there another hammer that might be more favorable than those two?
So the Hasten Recovery from the Empress Mace Ruin is a built-in health augment right? Does it trigger all the time like the augment? So i suppose attack augment is best for that weapon right?
There's no point in going diablos shatterer if u're gonna leave out critical boost. Go 2 max might instead with double affinity augment for 95% crit to beat the kt sleep hammer in dmg. Any area with ledges or slopes the kt hammer wins because of airborne
Are you doing this buffed or unbuffed because if your using buffs the kjar hammer decay is the best hammer it does more damage to anyone weak to dragon and has elder seal and lets not lie by the time you get this your going to be fighting elders
I'm actually sticking to jhojho's bizarre hammer, but i don't use peak or maxmight (as you stated in the video, if you're not that perfect with hammer you need to dodge a lot and get hit a lot), so i just have some big raw dmg and a lot of white sharpness with 5 handicraft. i'd even say it would come out on top given that maxmight and pp isn't active for both hammers.
I just realized last week, i had best hammer in the game, tarroth sleep, and it just lay there for sooo long, tried it and i love it !! Its just crush everything, kirin specially, but my hammer skill still need some practice
Exactly I main bow and want to play around with hammer my squad mates was make diablos hammer like ewwwww. I'm working on the workshop hammer because its green and the lunastra one. Ain't nobody got time to be looking ugly. We have to hunt in style.
I need some feed back im only hunter rank 46 . Gear ( nerg helm b , dober mail b, nerg van a , nerg coil a , nerg greaves a & masters charm 3 ) ( gems i have 2 lv 1 attk and a lv 3 brace gem ) 3 stacks of nerg hunger , 7 attk boost , 3 crit eye , agitator 3 , max might 3 & stam surg 1 ( barroth breaker 3 attk 1227 aff 35 % with diablos shatter 2 1383 attk aff 20% ) Im wondering witch hammer i should use ? Also what should i augment into and use for my last 2 or 3 gem slots depending on hammer i use ? Thx
which ever you prefer honestly Barroth Breaker is great starter because paralysis is a great ailment on hammers it was my first hammer actually. For a more endgame dps diablos will probably be the the better choice. Really it depends on personal play style.
0:10 how can you play such a nostalgic song and then stop it 😭 I forget what it’s from I need to hear itttr; maybe it’s route 91 or however that game called? If not pls tell me
I’m one of the only hammer online I see fully utilizing the hammer’s aerial capabilities, most people just tend to stick with staying on the ground. But that’s no fun.
You are wrong on hasten recovery, the standerd attacks of the insect glaive and amp state of switch axe provide the fastest recovery stacking for that skill.
They do, but Hammers, GS and HH all heal more per Hasten Recovery proc than any other weapon. And Hammers hit faster than HH and GS, so in comparison to those two weapons, Hammer is far better for Hasten Recovery
While indeed spinning bludgeon is not good dps, this is THE move you wanna pull out if you are one the crazy people who runs status hammer. In which case, I welcome you in the spiny status brotherhood.
Blos 2 works better with the Teo Gamma set, opens up the chest and coil to play around with. With that my final hit on Big bang is 444 and i have better fire resist
I'm still gonna stay with the Nergigante Hammer till i get the Sleep Hammer. It might only have blue sharpness but i can build peak performance and don't have to sharpen the entire hunt
Have you considered Styx? You'll never need to sharpen that either thanks to Razor sharp, and it comes with High affinity, white sharpness and two lvl 3 slots. Lower displayed damage, but likely win or be equal due to the white sharpness. Nergi hammer is good enough, though, so don't feel obliged to switch.
If you're getting hit by a LS there's 2 things. 1. The hammer user isn't hitting the head. 2. The LS user isn't hitting the tail. That being said, as a fairly new LS user, I apologize to all my party members for hitting you. 😂
I intentionally showed that max might can be missing during the opening of your swings, something everyone knows with hammer. In a real fight the missing stamina would likely be smaller but large enough to cause a non crit to occur.

When I started using hammers and figured out both of the ledge hopping techniques I felt like a genius but now I see that this isn't a secret.

Affinity sliding got me through early highrank quite easy.

Affinity sliding is too situational to be useful on the meta sadly.

0:10 how can you play such a nostalgic song and then stop it 😭 I forget what it’s from I need to hear itttr; maybe it’s route 91 or however that game called? If not pls tell me
Undertale but I forgot the title song. Try Toriel home
Okay but what about the magda floga? With the extremely high damage and 300 blast?
Why is maximum might so used when the hammer uses stamina when charging?
Edit: nvm, explained at 11:43
I’m one of the only hammer online I see fully utilizing the hammer’s aerial capabilities, most people just tend to stick with staying on the ground. But that’s no fun.
Any other set for Diablo shatter II cuz I don’t have that from behemoth just yet
I have to admit half of the reason i click on these videos is for the Undertale music
You can run up walls with the hammer!? wtf how am I just now finding out about this badass shit
why use a lvl 3 slot on Finch Free when you should be charging your hammer anyway
I remember when the hammer was my go to weapon, now I don't even bother with it anymore but now I might have to
Which one’s the spinning bludgeon?
If you hold the charge and let it while you run
When in charged mode you cant get flinched by other players while in a combo I believe. Or it might be in charging mode.
While indeed spinning bludgeon is not good dps, this is THE move you wanna pull out if you are one the crazy people who runs status hammer.
In which case, I welcome you in the spiny status brotherhood.
Is that neadly full bhemoth armor on empress
How do you get the attack name to appear when attacking?
bongomanbw they appear only in Behemoth hunt
You used isac Saleh's guitar playing for the intro didn't you? I'd recognize that anywhere
I like Evade Window on hammer (switch axe too) because I'm a scrub and I feel like the weapons lack defensive options.
the reason to use the Deviljoe weapon isn't that they're better, is that they look amazing.
Exactly. Best looking weapons in the game imo. My 2 faves are the switch axe and hammer which i use alot
Im having fun with Kjarr Decay, personally.
Anyone know what armor chapopo is wearing at around 1 minute?
how do that air attack again didnt understand sry
Make a switch axe version please
Blos 2 works better with the Teo Gamma set, opens up the chest and coil to play around with.
With that my final hit on Big bang is 444 and i have better fire resist
BuT dRaChEn SeT
Seriously though, not every build has to be drachen. It’s better to mix and match. Just the Drachen legs are invaluable.
Love the undertale in the beginning
Just saw your hammer guide thank you 🙏🏾! Can you recommend some other hammer builds (Been that me and others are not accustomed to KT!!) thanks again.
Alan Resnick here teaching me how to use hammer
what music is he using?
I was a heavy bow gun main on my ps4 but i started playing on pc and i fukinh love the hamner
If you're getting hit by a LS there's 2 things.
1. The hammer user isn't hitting the head.
2. The LS user isn't hitting the tail.
That being said, as a fairly new LS user, I apologize to all my party members for hitting you. 😂
Long sword coming soon? :D Take your time, I'm still trying to pick a weapon as my first main.
Wait and kjarr dodo and kjatr vaal? They aren't good?
I personally prefer taroth hammer theif, comes with more affinity making it great for crit status
If you just charge your hammer before doing the big bang combo you wont be flinched by teammates.
good, very good
Reminding me of the 40+ runs it took for me to get my first Taroth Sleep only for this last event to give me 9 smh.
Umm, none of your hits got Max Might in the training room because you held it too long
I intentionally showed that max might can be missing during the opening of your swings, something everyone knows with hammer. In a real fight the missing stamina would likely be smaller but large enough to cause a non crit to occur.
