Even though they aren't as good as Blos, I still enjoy using Djho, Rathalos, Rathian, and Dante CBs. Especially the Rathalos one versus Vaal. It may be inefficient, but the fire damage makes me want to burn the heretic.
Pc guy here. Pc mods pretty much made using others cbs for looks useless since you can put a freaking mod and make your blos cb look like dante's cb lol
If only Jho Jho's CB was an impact phial CB... SAED with elemental phials is kinda poopoo and in general, elemental damage isn't rewarding enough compared to non-elemental in the game, so the CB META won't change anytime soon and that could become a bit boring over time.

You guys earned a Sub. I've been looking for a CB "Teacher" to give me pointers and I'm at a dead end with my CB build. Got Blos fully upgrade minus the Augment slots needed and not enough of the jewels to help out with the build. Most of it comes from the Armor Skills so I'm hoping that it'll work out till AT-KT comes out, if not I'll just my Range Set till I get the stuff I need.
Mathematically best hunting horn builds and I will love you. I have over 300+ hours of hh alone but it would be so entertaining for me I can only wish you'd make one of those.
For the first build, if you are waiting for Tempered Teostra to make the rounds again you can swap the helm for Havest Flor A. It comes with Focus 1 a 2 slot and a 1 slot so you can get Tenderizer and Crit Eye decos to get close to the same build
God damn, that voice is sweet. And nice builds. I probably won't be able to build any of those (1 artillery jewel and 2 attack jewels isn't exactly enough, and I don't have Magazine) but I might be able to give them my own spin. I am kind of okay at doing so anyway. Thanks for the tips.
If you are missing attack decorations you can sub in critical eye decorations and augment for attack instead of affinity. If you are missing core decorations for these builds then try building a set that is similar in nature via skills that come on armor. Yes those builds will be weaker but you could probably throw something together that can perform on a medium level.

I just have one small criticism... the titles are so wordy that I find myself scrolling by videos that contain content I want to check, because I didn’t realize it was something I was looking for. So I'm trying to replicate the guard point at 6:36 but I haven't had any luck. Is it possible that guard point has a smaller frame time than transitioning to axe mode or am I missing an input?
there is mod in pc that double all cb weapon elemental and honestly it made the element build so much better and it can some time out damage impact. the mod called "hex world"
But why is it so bad? I mean, I've only used elemental a few times, but I didn't find it that bad. Sucked when I tried Rath cb against a jyura and did 0 damage while he had mud on, but then I used it against vaal and didn't work that badly. Against monsters that don't let me do the super discharge I prefer the elemental damage
finally my go to weapon.. everyone who started earlier knows the pain of farming magazine and artillery. i was stuck to dodogama greaves for like 200-300 hours.. lol
Cheers for the PC inclusions. PC players often get overlooked and it makes it hard to know what's good unless you're already a good player. I made a build that’s around masters touch and it has 80% affinity but loses out on the focus and doesn’t need all the dummy rare gems only one capacity boost and that’s it. The build uses behemoth armour, nerg head, artillery charm 3, 3 weakness exploit deco, non-elemental boost, capacity boost and guard but also maybe one attack deco depending on what nerg head you got hopefully this helps someone because I for one have not gotten a single attack deco
Elemental phial do a lot more damage than power phial on elemental discharge I, II and Super, so maybe if you play charge blade the older way (which is more enjoyable to play and see IMO), using elemental phial is better? And since you don’t need to pump out SAED like candy, you can drop focus 3, and even capacity boost for more damage skills. I know Ultra have nearly twice the motion value of Super, but the additional animation time makes a big difference. I always compare charge blade's Super to great sword's draw charge 3, the timing is simmilar, you can use it to punish monsters' wiffs. The additional animation time on Ultra however makes it almost only safe when it causes flinch, or when the monster is already on the ground. The optimal hit distance of Ultra is a lot further than charge blade's other attacks, meaning you have to re-position in your combo to do optimal damage, while discharge I, II and Super hit a lot closer and near the same spot, meaning you can combo them smoother with your sword slashes. I'm not saying SAED is bad, just pointing out a possibility.
This is the right way to use elemental CB. The focus should be on landing elemental damage with charged sword hits, elemental discharge, and cancelling SAED into the single phial AED strike. This is a more efficient usage of the elemental damage from phials.

That's the thing, there's plenty of other ways to run CB (hell, one of my fallbacks is a blast-based partbreaker build, I'm just a few levels short of anti-meta), but of course since these guys are all about mathematical optimisation the only thing they can really talk about is how to abuse the crap out of the Diablos.
Never before have I been interested in Math. You guys are awesome and somehow make math interesting! Looking forward to trying out these builds when drachen's out on PC! ^_^
Just as a side note, the Razor Sharp set mostly uses Crit Boost to boost it's average DPS over Akantore's set. The significance of this is that in order to get affinity for cheap they use Max Might (+ Affinity Augment). Watch out. Personally, I'd rather go for making white count than constantly relying on Max Might to proc a 55% affinity hit on weak points. And the Razor Sharp set uses more attack decos lmao
Good builds, i need 1 more artilery personally and personally i prefer Empress alma Styx or Blaze over the charge blade in this video. Right now im using artilery charm to help compensate the lack of a third artilery jewel and i'm also lacking a magazine jewel ugh gotta love RNG. :(
I wonder, if losing a point of attack, and a point of guard, and a point of handicraft, would be worth to drop in a sharp jewel on Aki's set. you lose about. . .20? EFR but maintain white sharpness, does that increase EFR over a hunt over something like Aki's? or is the GP SAED loss going to put it too far behind.
That calculator on honey got my builds finals wrong. Everything was right on it except what my affinity and attack are after the two talons and charms. Is it not a guaranteed right every time thing?
wow, as a cb main i feel really proud of myself to see that akantorex build and mine are the "same" (except that instead of focus 3 i run protective polish, and yes i know how much op focus 3 is)
300+ hours into the game while spending the last 200 hours farming Warped Feystones & I've still yet to get a single Capacity Boost, Bow Charge Plus, or Guard Up decoration. It might take me 800 more hours of farming before I have all the decorations to make even one of these builds I've seen or wanted to make.

@@kevinshadow5470 I am 130 hours in and have got my second attack jewels farming elder dragons. Not trying to disrespect but that many hours in and only 4 attack jewels is crazy. You must have some other really good jewels at least. Besides attack jewels have kind of lost their touch ever since Drachen armour.
I am really hoping that G-rank (coming via Iceborne!) will offer really good armor pieces that aren't in limited time quests that will allow for optimal CB play, as well as any other weapons. Pretty sure that G-rank limited time quests will probably offer some incredibly powerful stuff, but as long as the other G-rank stuff doesn't fall far behind, it'll be fine.
Looking forward to the focus vid. I use a Teostra masters touch hybrid with damascus mail and kush gamma coil. I get white sharpness while also getting masters touch. I had to sacrifice 1 level of focus and 1 level of guard and i feel like focus 2 charges phials nearly as fast than focus 3.
i have a question. why not switch out Damascus coil for Kushala Gamma (handicraft II + 2 attack jewels). so in exchange for 20 more white sharpness you lose 5% affinity and 3 attack. I think it's worth it. Focus 2 and 3 is basically the same, as you get fully charged with one charged slash and one round slash either way). what do you think?
Hey, which second augument is better - affinity or attack? I augumented my taroth strongarm horn health regen as first, by now i finally get streamstones for 2nd augument. And i've seen a lot of discussions, and some says attack while others affinity. Also u have affinity in all ur builds. It is better?
Just from the video's title i have to like this as a CB main ! For those who didn't know AkantoreX is one of the best CB speedrunners out there, the kind of guys who are able to guard points during their sleep ^^ I'd love to max out my CB sharpness (the first build shown at 3:42) but i still miss one artillery jewel, one charger jewel and one atk jewel (i wouldn't mind having more atk to spare anyway). In this case i'd go for atk charm instead of handicraft though because white sharpness don't do shit on phials damage so its not the must have skill for the SAED spam strat (You always have to go for max atk boost right ? lol). For the second one (7:50)... Meh 5 atk jewel ??? Too bad that crit boost doesn't help buildind your phials damage, and power prolonger is not really necessary for the CB imo (or maybe just for Kirin ?). Even if the Xeno y armor pieces here are great for decorations slots Xeno bonus armor skill kinda sucks if you don't have a decent crunch of white sharpness to begin with. I'd take master touch over razor sharp for melee weapons. Well i won't be able to try it anyway with my 2 atk and 2 artillery jewels only. If you're not a god like those CB speedrunners losing a charger charm for the guard up skill can be useful. Too bad there isn't a decent piece or armor that would give us the artillery skill, those f... jewel are too rare to get with my poor rng...
I guess you are going to talk about how agitator isn't halved for Phial damage in the Phials video? My method could be flawed but in all of my testing NE boost upped your damage on normal swings by 10% and only by 5% on the Phials. On top of that the damage for additional raw was still only multiplied by 1.05 for the damage contribution for phial.
Forgot to add the part where I said that agitator could also just not be worth because of uptime or cost. I'm mostly not sure because it may get a bit more value since it helps Phials a bit more than other options.
I've found that Diablos has pretty good ice hitzones, making the legiana cb pretty good. Not as powerful as the tyrannis, but worth it for the pretty phial explosions.
Just one problem. I like running Health Boost 3 on literally everything. So how do I fit that in a Charge Blade build? I've tried playing around with it & there just doesn't seem to be enough room.

As Pc cb player I got a bit excited when I saw that pc build because I have all those armor pieces......then I saw the magazine jewel and cried for an hour....to add to the 650 hours I've cried in game for it not dropping. I've had 3 attack , 3 mighty bow , 1 focus, 2 free ele, 1 marathon runner, 2 mushroom mancer, 1 artilery, piercing shots, normal shots....basically half the r7 and r8 decos drop but cannot get that freaking thing to drop.

also does the new Arch Tempered Kulve Taroth Kvarr weapons affect CB? I tried a crital build with Kvarr Strongarm Crusher (720 dmg, 300blast, critical status skill), white sharpness, critical boost 3, and 70% affinity. other than phial damage the rest does more damage than the BLOS build, not to mention the blast triggers quite a lot, is that viable?

How about a follow up video covering how the builds would change if a player is using the Hex World mod? Element phials get a buff in that, which makes them actually viable, at least damage wise.
Yeah... With mod... Is it fun to "hack" a game to upgrade some "weak" stuff or simply don't farm anymore ? The game is already pretty easy without cheat --' Random rewards can be annoying but if you have all you want easily, where is fun ? Where is pride ? Some "Master Race" are very strange... Next it would be "Damage x 2 mod"...

10:38 hey i have similar build except for Focus skill since i only have 1 artillery jewel, i got lucky with Magazine, Ironwall and Handicraft though (got magazine and ironwall recently but handicraft is from long ago), I agree that WE and Attack 4 are very useful since we have to fill up phials using attacks, also guard skill can set up for counterattack with SAED easier, i'm playing on PC btw Nergigante helm a [ attack jewel 1 ] Kushala Cista B [Elementless jewel 2] Kaiser Vambraces B [Handicraft jewel 3] Nergigante Coil B [Magazine jewel 2] Dante Leather Boots [Ironwall jewel 1 | Fortitude jewel 1] Artillery Charm III Skill: Attack Boost 4, Handicraft 3, Weakness Exploit 3, Artillery 3, Maximum Might 2, Capacity Boost, Guard, Non Elemental Boost, Fortify Put fortify there cuz i like it, i'll change build once i get 3 artillery jewels. Phial damage sometimes go for 100 per phial on occasions.
For the Razor Sharp build, can't you just use the Nergi Alpha helm which gives attack up 1 and MM 2 and still gives the level one slot for iron wall. For those who do not have 5 attack jewels
I just got the Kijarr strong arm "crusher" has a base dmg of 793, compared to diobs 828, not only that but it comes with base 25 percent affinity, aswell as have 35 percent blast dmg, could this be a better choice?

Why not just run nergigante helm alpha for the second build? One less slot for +1 attack boost means you need one less attack jewel but have the exact same build...

Would lightning CB be good for KT since her coat is so weak to lightning and since the hit zone is so large you dont have to be as precise? Or is it still better to just run tyrannis
Thunder CB is better for ATKT however CB has mechanics issues with ATKT. Basically SAEDs are unreliable and rely a lot on RNG to land. The windup is longer than most of her attacks and with 4 hunters in the quest, she can rotate her entire body 90 degrees before she starts he next attack. Also the fleshy bits of her body take 0 thunder damage, making SAED phials on the arms, legs, or chests somewhat RNG whether you will hit the mantle or her flesh.

I have non of the Online Event quest's armor/weapons so i can't make any builds with WeX AND Handicraft 4-5 *sigh* but i do have 5 Attack decos so not all bad right? right? (cries in a corner)
No earplugs set option? for me is the best option in almost every figth for standard player, because u evade be interrupt on your saep for the monster's scream and basically have a free good saep every time the monster scream.
Feel free to make any set that you like! These are the most efficient for damage. Typically, seasoned CB players will Guard Point roars and SAED off that.
@@JinJinxandTuna ofc you can Guard Point the roars, but sincerely most of the standard player will fail a lot of time, so Earplug is a safe option to get free dmg.

Eldermelder save/reload method has given me 4 artillery gems and a capacity boost gem (plus countless more) in just a few days of play.
Ugh god..I have 6 capacity boost now but still only one attack and no artillery.

Daniel Fraiz It's not that they're bad per se, but rather they are nowhere near as good as the blos/horn CBs, not even close.
The new KUlve Taroth ice charge blade shreds monsters weak to ice such as teostra and lunastra. Search it up its sick.

Just as a side note, the Razor Sharp set mostly uses Crit Boost to boost it's average DPS over Akantore's set. The significance of this is that in order to get affinity for cheap they use Max Might (+ Affinity Augment). Watch out.
Personally, I'd rather go for making white count than constantly relying on Max Might to proc a 55% affinity hit on weak points. And the Razor Sharp set uses more attack decos lmao
Good builds, i need 1 more artilery personally and personally i prefer Empress alma Styx or Blaze over the charge blade in this video. Right now im using artilery charm to help compensate the lack of a third artilery jewel and i'm also lacking a magazine jewel ugh gotta love RNG. :(
I wonder, if losing a point of attack, and a point of guard, and a point of handicraft, would be worth to drop in a sharp jewel on Aki's set. you lose about. . .20? EFR but maintain white sharpness, does that increase EFR over a hunt over something like Aki's? or is the GP SAED loss going to put it too far behind.
That calculator on honey got my builds finals wrong. Everything was right on it except what my affinity and attack are after the two talons and charms. Is it not a guaranteed right every time thing?
wow, as a cb main i feel really proud of myself to see that akantorex build and mine are the "same" (except that instead of focus 3 i run protective polish, and yes i know how much op focus 3 is)

300+ hours into the game while spending the last 200 hours farming Warped Feystones & I've still yet to get a single Capacity Boost, Bow Charge Plus, or Guard Up decoration. It might take me 800 more hours of farming before I have all the decorations to make even one of these builds I've seen or wanted to make.

@@kevinshadow5470 I am 130 hours in and have got my second attack jewels farming elder dragons. Not trying to disrespect but that many hours in and only 4 attack jewels is crazy. You must have some other really good jewels at least. Besides attack jewels have kind of lost their touch ever since Drachen armour.

I am really hoping that G-rank (coming via Iceborne!) will offer really good armor pieces that aren't in limited time quests that will allow for optimal CB play, as well as any other weapons.
Pretty sure that G-rank limited time quests will probably offer some incredibly powerful stuff, but as long as the other G-rank stuff doesn't fall far behind, it'll be fine.
Looking forward to the focus vid. I use a Teostra masters touch hybrid with damascus mail and kush gamma coil. I get white sharpness while also getting masters touch. I had to sacrifice 1 level of focus and 1 level of guard and i feel like focus 2 charges phials nearly as fast than focus 3.
i have a question. why not switch out Damascus coil for Kushala Gamma (handicraft II + 2 attack jewels). so in exchange for 20 more white sharpness you lose 5% affinity and 3 attack. I think it's worth it. Focus 2 and 3 is basically the same, as you get fully charged with one charged slash and one round slash either way). what do you think?
Hey, which second augument is better - affinity or attack? I augumented my taroth strongarm horn health regen as first, by now i finally get streamstones for 2nd augument. And i've seen a lot of discussions, and some says attack while others affinity. Also u have affinity in all ur builds. It is better?
Just from the video's title i have to like this as a CB main ! For those who didn't know AkantoreX is one of the best CB speedrunners out there, the kind of guys who are able to guard points during their sleep ^^
I'd love to max out my CB sharpness (the first build shown at 3:42) but i still miss one artillery jewel, one charger jewel and one atk jewel (i wouldn't mind having more atk to spare anyway). In this case i'd go for atk charm instead of handicraft though because white sharpness don't do shit on phials damage so its not the must have skill for the SAED spam strat (You always have to go for max atk boost right ? lol).
For the second one (7:50)... Meh 5 atk jewel ??? Too bad that crit boost doesn't help buildind your phials damage, and power prolonger is not really necessary for the CB imo (or maybe just for Kirin ?). Even if the Xeno y armor pieces here are great for decorations slots Xeno bonus armor skill kinda sucks if you don't have a decent crunch of white sharpness to begin with. I'd take master touch over razor sharp for melee weapons. Well i won't be able to try it anyway with my 2 atk and 2 artillery jewels only.
If you're not a god like those CB speedrunners losing a charger charm for the guard up skill can be useful. Too bad there isn't a decent piece or armor that would give us the artillery skill, those f... jewel are too rare to get with my poor rng...

I guess you are going to talk about how agitator isn't halved for Phial damage in the Phials video?
My method could be flawed but in all of my testing NE boost upped your damage on normal swings by 10% and only by 5% on the Phials. On top of that the damage for additional raw was still only multiplied by 1.05 for the damage contribution for phial.
Forgot to add the part where I said that agitator could also just not be worth because of uptime or cost. I'm mostly not sure because it may get a bit more value since it helps Phials a bit more than other options.

I've found that Diablos has pretty good ice hitzones, making the legiana cb pretty good. Not as powerful as the tyrannis, but worth it for the pretty phial explosions.
Just one problem. I like running Health Boost 3 on literally everything.
So how do I fit that in a Charge Blade build? I've tried playing around with it & there just doesn't seem to be enough room.

As Pc cb player I got a bit excited when I saw that pc build because I have all those armor pieces......then I saw the magazine jewel and cried for an hour....to add to the 650 hours I've cried in game for it not dropping. I've had 3 attack , 3 mighty bow , 1 focus, 2 free ele, 1 marathon runner, 2 mushroom mancer, 1 artilery, piercing shots, normal shots....basically half the r7 and r8 decos drop but cannot get that freaking thing to drop.
So i missed out on the Dante event. is there a suitable replacement for the leggings on these builds?

also does the new Arch Tempered Kulve Taroth Kvarr weapons affect CB? I tried a crital build with Kvarr Strongarm Crusher (720 dmg, 300blast, critical status skill), white sharpness, critical boost 3, and 70% affinity. other than phial damage the rest does more damage than the BLOS build, not to mention the blast triggers quite a lot, is that viable?

TPI Figjam They are gamma sets. They will appear when you kill the respective Arch Tempered Monster and get a ticket as a reward for killing it.
What about the augmentations for the Diablos tyrannis? Anyone has some thougths on it?
How about a follow up video covering how the builds would change if a player is using the Hex World mod? Element phials get a buff in that, which makes them actually viable, at least damage wise.

10:38 hey i have similar build except for Focus skill since i only have 1 artillery jewel, i got lucky with Magazine, Ironwall and Handicraft though (got magazine and ironwall recently but handicraft is from long ago), I agree that WE and Attack 4 are very useful since we have to fill up phials using attacks, also guard skill can set up for counterattack with SAED easier, i'm playing on PC btw

Put fortify there cuz i like it, i'll change build once i get 3 artillery jewels. Phial damage sometimes go for 100 per phial on occasions.
For the Razor Sharp build, can't you just use the Nergi Alpha helm which gives attack up 1 and MM 2 and still gives the level one slot for iron wall. For those who do not have 5 attack jewels

I just got the Kijarr strong arm "crusher" has a base dmg of 793, compared to diobs 828, not only that but it comes with base 25 percent affinity, aswell as have 35 percent blast dmg, could this be a better choice?
No, it isn't because blast is inneficient on procing at some monsters. Raw dmg>>>>>status

Why not just run nergigante helm alpha for the second build? One less slot for +1 attack boost means you need one less attack jewel but have the exact same build...
2 things that would help elemental CB is if they kept the old SAED from 4 and didn’t really cap the element so lvl 5 skills would be useful =\

Would lightning CB be good for KT since her coat is so weak to lightning and since the hit zone is so large you dont have to be as precise? Or is it still better to just run tyrannis
Thunder CB is better for ATKT however CB has mechanics issues with ATKT. Basically SAEDs are unreliable and rely a lot on RNG to land. The windup is longer than most of her attacks and with 4 hunters in the quest, she can rotate her entire body 90 degrees before she starts he next attack. Also the fleshy bits of her body take 0 thunder damage, making SAED phials on the arms, legs, or chests somewhat RNG whether you will hit the mantle or her flesh.

I have non of the Online Event quest's armor/weapons so i can't make any builds with WeX AND Handicraft 4-5 *sigh* but i do have 5 Attack decos so not all bad right? right? (cries in a corner)
No earplugs set option? for me is the best option in almost every figth for standard player, because u evade be interrupt on your saep for the monster's scream and basically have a free good saep every time the monster scream.
Feel free to make any set that you like! These are the most efficient for damage. Typically, seasoned CB players will Guard Point roars and SAED off that.
@@JinJinxandTuna ofc you can Guard Point the roars, but sincerely most of the standard player will fail a lot of time, so Earplug is a safe option to get free dmg.

You guys forgot blast CB against AT Kirin, because he is so small, you won't be spamming saeds and blast is the way to go
NoahKingOHigherPlane blos CB works, you use more AEDs than SAEDs. Rainy has a pretty good video showing this
