Had the same issue, but in my case I cut the hose too long. It was looping UP into the drain. Cut the hose so there's no upward loop.

no, it's from the waste water line of the drinking system. The gunk is from the drain pipe of your sink.
Mine leaks a couple of drops and I cant figure out why. My RO unit is brand new. Its leaking from the air gap in the faucet but not nearly as bad as yours, like I said just a few drops ever now and then but it pools up over time. Not sure what's going on.
Have u checked the drain tube connection to the drain pipe? There may be something hindering flow to the drain.
Why would the RO faucet tubing get oogied up like that?
My guess would be that the garbage disposal and/or the dishwasher empties into the drain and all that crap in the drain will backup into the RO line.
