      @@HypergaugeDIY My faucet had a bottom gasket that was damaged (I don't know how) but I found a replacement that fit at Ace Hardware. They had a two-pack for 3.97 of Pfister replacement bottom-gasket washers that fit perfectly and had the same design. There were a different color (black instead of red), but equally pliable. I found it in the same rack as the valve cartridge replacements.

    Thank you sir! My faucet developed more of a 'trickle' than a drip. After watching your video, I disassembled mine and wire-brushed the corrosion on the threads - which was unseen prior to taking it apart. Short version: faucet works like new - and I had a $50 replacement in the cart at Amazon. I owe you lunch for sure! Thanks again.

    Great video but an extra tip i can give is the big white tank(under your sink) that your clean water sits inside of should have a blue colored valve(looks like a flap) on the very top of the tank sometimes its on the side of the tank. Just turn that valve to the right all the way (just a quarter turn usually)until it doesnt turn no more and that will cut the water supply to your RO faucet(still turn the bigger valve off at the wall). That way you dont have to wait for all that water to drain into the pan like our friend did in the video. Just a suggestion but his way worked great as well. Thats my contribution👍🏽👍🏽good luck to everyone👌🏽

      Thanks for watching my video. Some newer models do have this shut off valve design, but unfortunately mine is an older model that does not have it. It should be a good idea to add it during the next filter change.

    A super helpful and chill video, I love the vibes! I'm stuck now at the point of trying to get the handle off. The screw and its little washer are out, I can even unscrew that part you used the tape for, but I can't remove it, or the handle, they are somehow stuck 😭

    • @HypergaugeDIY
      @HypergaugeDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sorry to hear that. Here are few ways you may try to unstuck. 1. Carefully pour hot water on it, then wear glove with good grip to try remove it. 2. The problem may also be caused by dirty or calcium buildup. For that you can use vinegar + salt to try spry or soak the area for some time to try to get it loose. 3. I have a video using super-cold liquid air to unstuck a fishing rod. In an extreme case, it may work too. Link of the video here. th-cam.com/video/LmZT3KJgm2c/w-d-xo.html Good luck

    We've had ours go the same way, I knew roughly how they come apart, but it''s VERY helpful that you've led the way - thank you, takes away the mystery. A couple of times, with such leaks, our service guy often swaps the whole tap out free of charge, fits a new one - I've often pondered if he refurbishes them at his leisure, but as he's never charged us, is fairly priced for his other work, I've never questioned it. And your happy accident with the tape? Genius! I hope that works for me too!! Word of wisdom to the wise, we leave our tap (faucet) over the sink, especially at night, then any drips/excess drains away, down the sink/plug hole ;-)

    Instead of electrical tape which leaves black goo, you can use scrap cardboard in the jaws of channel lock pliers to protect metal finishes.

    • @HypergaugeDIY
      @HypergaugeDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That may work, but black electrical tap usually does not leaves goo on surface especially stainless steel for short period of time. Duct tape on the other hand is not a good idea.

    • @HypergaugeDIY
      @HypergaugeDIY  ปีที่แล้ว

      If I were you, I would disassemble the entire faucet to check the problem. It is not common for a leak directly from the base because there is really no moving parts there. If the leak is from a connector, it is possible to fix it with some Teflon tape. Good luck with your repair.

      If you look under the sink area, there should be a big washer/nut (maybe called another name...) You can use a wrench to turn and screw it up and it will secure the base down. Should be very straight forward. Good luck with your project.
