I bought this from Costco and found the install easy to follow. I recommend switching the plastic t fitting for a brass fitting from Home Depot.
The last step of this install is to drain the tank. I drained the tank 3 times so I can drink the 4th tank. To drain the tank leave the faucet open for about untill it stops running (about 5-6min). Repeat the draining after the tank filled up in about (2.5 - 3 hrs). You can hear that the tank is filling because when the tank fills it drains some water out the white drain hose.

this model is KNOWN for having leaky faucets...I'm having the same issue. I should have looked at the reviews. Just because Costco sells it doesn't mean it's good. lesson learned.

I found out the issue is with the air gap faucet hose (white) that drains contaminated water into your drain. This is either clogged from the garbage disposal or the hole is misaligned. Please check that.

@@StevenMWilliams0317thanks for the tip! I was having water leak from the faucet. I removed the pipe beneath my sink that the white air gap faucet hose drained into and my drain pipe was super clogged. I cleaned out my pipes from the sink through the P trap and everything worked great! No more faucet leak! One thing you can test is to remove the air gap hose and let it drain into a bowl beneath the sink. Try covering the end of the air gap hose with a finger while watching the faucet. Every time I plugged the air gap hose, the faucet would leak. Unplug the hose and the leak stopped. Once all the gunk was out of my pipes, the air gap hose could properly drain and the faucet leak was fixed!

We are a family of 6 with 2 teenagers, a tween, and elementary school grade child. How often should we change the filters. The recommendation was 6 months, 2 years, and 1 year. But I imagine that's probably for a single person living in cool climate.

The plastic coupler to connect to cold water line is not good especially if your receiving end is plastic. Buy a additional fitting to connect. It is worth to do this job in the day time so that you can run to the store if you need anything.

I'd replace immediately all the "crap" plastic fittings. Are they not worried about water leak?? (The plastic fittings mat crack and leak later) - there are metal equivalents available, so why take the chance?

    Few things:
First off, if you haven't purchased this item yet, DON'T! It's a leaky piece of junk.
Secondly, if you purchased this item and haven't started installing it, DON'T START! Box it back up and return it.
Finally, if you're here because you're in the middle of the installation.... Well I'm sorry, you're probably in a pretty dark place right now.
Installation is NOT as easy as this video makes it seem. This is a perfect scenario where everything fits. I had to build a custom mount because my cupboard walls were too weak to mount the unit. The angle adapter is cheap plastic garbage and WILL leak. I went to Home Depot and got a higher quality adapter and it didn't leak. However, once I got the system installed and turned on the water the system leaked in three separate locations. Water everywhere.
So now after an entire weekend wasted on this junk I'm disassembling it, doing laundry because all of my towels are wet from cleaning up the mess, and finally boxing this thing back up and hoping Costco will take it back.
Avoid this product at all costs!!

Drill out the hole you made into the drain pipe as big as you can, if you have a tiny hole it will clogg more easily and come out the air gap at the ro faucet. Also blow caned air into the air gap hole at the base of the ro faucet from time to time. This will push out any chunks of gunk that grows in your discharge tube . This especially is necessary if your garbage disposal or dish washer drain conection it really close to the discharge tube conection because these items will add more chances of gunk to grow and then clogg your discharge tube then leak out the air gap over night and ruin your freaking brand new kitchen cabinets

You’re supposed to maintain it every so often with 3ML of either bleach or hydrogen peroxide with the tool they provided with the kit. You just take out the tube that’s going into the tank and shoot it in there. at least it’s what it says in the manual that came with it.
