    I changed two water filters, followed the instructions as printed. There was a note in there about water leaking from the faucet air hole if there’s air trapped and that that’s normal until it passes. I allowed for it for hours. Also a loud pressure noise happens every time I run my sink faucet. Doesn’t go away. Hours later, I began to think, why so long. I did what your video said. There was just a tad of residue in the hose. I took a small straw brush that came with reusable straws I purchased to drink through and it removed the junk, plug it back in, the leaking stopped immediate! The noise still persists. The leak is gone though. Life saver. Thank you!

    Excellent find....saved me from ordering a new faucet..(definitely wouldn't have solved the problem either). Didn't realize the blocked drain pipe was creating the pressure on the faucet to drain out water from it at a very high rate. My faucet was draining out water from the tiny hole as well as the body. I didn't clip the pipe, instead inserted a thin wire and worked it like a roto rooter, then hit the pipe against a bucket. Pretty much the strike motion on the pipe got out the sludge. Then used a ShopVac on the pipe and got out any remaining gunk.

    I had the same issue on my 5 month old Pure H2O 3 Stage system. Id recommend using compressed can of air and spray into the air gap first to flush most of it out. Then use several qtips to clean the white tube on the drain side.

    If the RO drain line is inserted beneath a garbage disposal clogging is more likely to occur. Looks like you have a two-drain sink and could probably drain the RO line into the lateral pipe crossing over from the adjacent sink drain into the main line before the garbage disposal. This could perhaps help reduce or mitigate clogging of the RO drain line. There is also a way to intercept a dishwasher drain line into the garbage disposal which could help. Lastly, I read someone who uses a can of compressed air (gas duster) to blow into the air gap line in the faucet to blow out clogs in his RO drain line rather unplugging and clearing the drain line beneath the sink (not sure how well that works). Thanks for showing how the system can get clogged and what can be done to clear the line in this type of installation.

    I ran into this problem when changing filters. The drain line had water coming out of the tube but apparently not sufficiently enough. The drain tube didn't appear to be clogged. I fixed the problem by applying about 20 pounds of air pressure back through the air gap. What came out was sludge, maybe algae. When everything else fails give this a try.

    After disconnecting, I grabbed my hose about 12 inches up from the end and whipped it for about a minute while all the sludge flung out. A bit messy, but it worked perfectly.

      After I stuck a thin rod in there I stuck my mouth to the bleed hole and blew the rest of the gunk out.

    I ran a wire up the tube till it hit the faucet and all the crap ran out, problem solved. If you keep cutting the tube you will run out of tubing later onto don't put a lot of stuff down your garbage disposal, that will help too.

    Easy Fix: option 1. use a rubber air blaster to blow the hole on the faucet; it cleans the white pipe to fix the leak. Option 2: use an orange juice bottle, drill two holes, cut the white line at the bottom end and insert it into the bottle, and use a hot glue gun to seal the holes. It will let all the dirt from the sink fall into the bottle. I used to need to blow it every two months to clean it, but now I just need to blow it one or two times a year with the bottle filter. :)

      Why don't just switch the position of the connection from horizontal to vertical?

    Another leak can happen if that air hole valve is clogged. That air hole on the faucet looks like a key hole for the newer models. Before leaks occur, they will make strange noises soon after dispensing water. To fix this problem, you need to spray CLR into the keyhole, wait 30 mins, then spray with WD-40. These chemicals will not backfeed into the drinking water system.

    After cutting a few more times, you will run out of hose. Why not blow compressed air from air gap?

  • @335i101

    You can leave your water supply turned on during this, correct?

    • @FieldServiceTechBusiness
      @FieldServiceTechBusiness 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes you can leave it on. But be prepared to quickly slip the drain tube into the waste insert if the system is draining.

    Does anyone know why this exists? What is the purpose of having a line from the faucet directly to the drain??

    Has anyone had an issue where the system constantly drains? Even when the tank is not refilling and is already full?

  • @BradPennington
    @BradPennington 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    What is concerning here is that the water is then constantly over-flowing!! Either through this hole in the top… if it’s not clogged up… it then overflows through to the pipe down the drain! This means there is water constantly pouring out ??!! Is this wasting water??

  • @thebell313
    @thebell313 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The problem is - you got just a TEMPORARY RELIEF by doing they. I've experienced these leaks for probably 6-7 times.
    Now I realized that I have to change the position of the connection from horizontal to vertical.
