    I hiked those stairs 15 times up and down in one day during a surf contest I was DJ for. It felt like the first day of snowboarding for the year when there is 20 inches of Oregon mash potato powder. It took a week for my legs to fully recover! 😖🤣🏄🏽‍♂️

    Otter Rock will be on my list. Looks like a good longboard beginner break. Keep doing what you are doing in terms of vlogging, surfing and hiking. Your videos are great!!

      Thank you! Yes Otter Rock was wonderful, definitely recommend. We’re heading up to Westport, WA this weekend but conditions aren’t looking so good 😑.

    Enjoy your vlog, Otter's rip can be ferocious depending upon conditions? Jimmy did well keeping calm, punch bowel is a great begginer to intermediate break but that rip goes at a wide unexpected angle especially winter surf....I'm old, my experience with otters rip was 1969 with my brother as well as a local friend, I still surf & that was a very memorable experience, so hang in there good job 👍

      Thanks for watching! We definitely learned our lesson this day. Haven't had a chance to go back yet. Jimmy has had a little PTSD from this day.

      Oh I didn’t realize there was another shop! What’s the name? Love visiting all the shops on the coast.

    How cold was the water?

    • @JimmyxMelanie
      @JimmyxMelanie  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure the exact temp at that time, most likely in the 50’s F. Cold enough to wear a 4/3 wetsuit, booties and gloves lol. Summertime more like 60 F.

      @@omitomit8805 :Central Oregon’s coast water temps is almost always between 50* and 57* I’ve been surfing here for 46 years. It takes 2-3 days of South wind to warm it up 1 degree so to get warmed up you need several weeks of south wind and current. Unfortunately it only takes 1 day of north wind to drop it 1 degree. So with all our north wind most of the time it’s cold. We have been having more south storms in the last 25 years, but most good spots are better with west or NW swells. All the good points need west with slight north to fire except one world class spot. Which is a long drive for many.
