I learned to surf in Oregon. It's finnicky, cold as balls, full of sharks, and the locals are pretty methy. Wouldn't trade that experience for anything, though.
Greatest surf adventure of your youth!! I’ve done that over and over again. 1986-1990, with my bros from The Navy. We were stationed at Point Loma subase on the USS Dixon a submarine tender. 3 of us from Oahu Hawaii, 2 from Cali, 2 from Florida, and one from South Carolina. We’d surf up and down the entire West coast if we weren’t on duty. We surfed from Santa Cruz, way down into Baja. Weekend road trips were amazing, camping on the beaches of Mexico way up to SanFrancisco. The time of our lives. We’ve also surfed around the world while stationed on other ships deployed out of different places around the world. I’ve surfed in Oman, Mombasa Kenya, Djibouti, East Africa, ( real sharky) Japan, Okinawa, Guam, the list goes on. It was the adventure of my lifetime. With life long bros.
Well, some of us other Oregonians don't want the PNW to become territorial, like CA, and don't mind mentioning the spots, with the caveat of learning how paddle for a wave with the proper surf etiquette. There's enough goodness to go around folks.
This video makes me nostalgic for family trips from Seattle out to La Push and down the Washington coast. The nature is just unlike anywhere else that I have been
Love it, just finished a trip through all of these spots too. So good. And now I don't feel so bad about how hard I found that river wave haha. PNW ftw.
I grew up in Long Beach Washington. Graduated from high school there even. Seeing Waikiki (not the one people think of when they first hear it) get some exposure is pretty cool. The Washington and Oregon coast is beautiful I hope to move back someday.
Grew up north of Frisco and surfed all up the whole coast. Never Oregon, just skated the parks . Sick pools. Just went to socal and had the time of my life this Dec. So many surf spots and I never surfed in a crowd. There's tons of waves to be had without being cramped. Good change for me. Hope you had a good trip .
Killer video!🤘This trip looked like a blast, some great footy at some sick locations, solid editing and production, fun to watch, more of these please🙏😎🤙
Depending on the time of year that river wave is way bigger. It’s cool this is the first time I’ve seen all my local spots on TH-cam haha. Bro didn’t even name drop. Respect (;
@@CozyBoat275 I love it too but strongly recommend checking out some other spots. Surfing without a wetsuit is wild. Kinda scary, tbh, feels like going into battle with no armor. But paddling is way easier without the 5/4!
@@metalboxman99 Yeah, I heard they love when you bring friends too. Groups of entry level surfers with softtops are their favourites, from what I´ve heard
I would say these surf trip was pretty cool seeking more a wildness. I think they are bunch of funny people pretending to be surfers too. Greeting from Indo. 😂😊
From Seattle, only surfed in San Diego though. Next time I’m back in PNW I’m definitely going surfing, I’ve wanted to do this for so long. I just don’t have the connections.
@@_CORVUS 3 places in Westport. In the summer it’s the jetty. In winter it’s the cove or the groins. Watch the current at the groins. You get sucked into the shipping lane then have to come in back at the cove and walk back. Cove and groins are surfable when the outside ocean is big and un surfable.
Man i have seen some Crap attempts of Surf Road trips Butt this has to be the Worst. ..fyi guys holding a vertical frame just highlights Clueless...as a Surfer snd Pro Photographer for over 25 yrs its just sad to see this Shit😢

What’s up with older local surfers and meth?? See it around Santa Cruz too
Gold. "Methy" 😆
@@overanalyzings think it gets them into the water when they don't wanna cause it's too cold.
Thought it woulda been bigger n more solid up there? Closer to the storms etc.
@@overanalyzings na that's just Santa cruz

Thnaks for not namin the spots. Us Oregon surfers appreciate it. Sick film!
there's no need. all the spots worth surfing, with the exception of nelscott, are on surfline.
i think the little rock kind of gives it away no? ...these spots are already very popular

That's a good attitude, and i am not being facetious. Are the crew at Seaside onboard? 🤣
@@SensitiveMannequins Last time I was there it was a sausage fest 🙄 Big 🍆 energy unfortunately.

Super rad organic, local project. Great filmmaking. Light touch on the product placement/plug. Awesome work all!
Nice job guys. The PNW is magic. Scoring good waves consistently can be a challenge, but that is part of the magic.
the PNW is so close to my heart even though I grew up catching waves on the Carolina coast. hope one day I’ll get to surf in Or

Biggest shark I over saw was off Newport South Jetty, it was was too close to me but thankfully did not bite. Love Oregon.

I think you mean the *secret spot* 😉.
I heard Portland fires hard but the swell has to be huge and only on the highest of tides.
this gotta be one of my favourite films 🤩🤩

So nice to see a good surf video about the one! So stoked, thanks guys
Beautiful Magic….Beautiful Bliss….
I hear the locals at seaside Oregon are inviting and friendly
I've heard that too! hike out to the point in Seaside with your board, jump in the water & make some friends

Just show up alone, no cameras, no stickers on your boards, sit inside and smile... Then don’t fuckin’ talk about when your done ya fuckin’ kooks!
ive heard they're methy
So funny watching you guys rip in the ocean just to see y'all struggle with the river wave
That river wave is tricky. I've seen really skilled surfers struggle on it...very different from ocean waves!
Reminds me of west coast south island NZ, just smaller waves

such a cool video, i’ve surfed many of these spots, i love oregon :)
Gotta love the magic of editing-walk on a trail and emerge at a beach 60 miles away! Great vid, tho.
Ha! Shorties trail and you pop out in PC!
Those southern Oregon raccoons are no joke! Great video guys.
Ye your last stop is Oregon. Don’t go anywhere beyond that until Chanada
The slopes has no sharks, just trees and rock and 1000s of miles of cliffs
Beautiful
Loved it.
Awesome stuff boys!!!
Did you guys join the WSL in japan?
really sick video! How was the shark vibe? Never felt great being out there in the water
I live around SF. I see them here and there. Never anything super big though.

Totally! Especially people from California! We love them 😄
Is it ok to bring meth too?
Not a secret anymore when you put a spot In a video…..just sayin’….nice video though.
All the actual surf spots are overly crowded. Go home
Camel Rock isn’t exactly an all timer, let alone a secret spot
