Some friendships are based on common interests. Some are a matter of life and death, like when an Orca is chasing you. You literally provider that otter with a life boat.

    • @mynameisgladiator1933

Yeah that's a risky move on their part. An Orca weighs 8000 pounds and could crush that boat. He probably was fairly pissed.

@@mynameisgladiator1933 That’s not what I’m doubting. You wrote it was a risky move to allow the otter on the boat? Is that correct? My reply was in response to that part of your statement, because it has been documented in the past of other wildlife animals also jumping onto boats to escape the different pods of orcas. Although, I’ll admit that pretty much anything can be risky. Including me sitting here writing this reply. Hope that clears everything up and that you have a wonderful day/night.

@@jo-vf8jx All I'm saying is an Orca is a top of the chain predator and you're in his world, he weighs 8000 pounds, you'd have to be nuts to steal an 8000 pound animals food. Just because they don't generally mess with people, it is not true that they never have.
Also, I'm not a big fan of humans picking winners in the fight for life in the wild. That boat stole that Orca's dinner. If I was that Orca, at the very least I'd do a nice big belly flop next to the boat to give those humans something to ponder.

Orcas are super smart. That would take too much energy and would risk it being cut or injured by the metal boat trying to get to 1 otter. They are at the top of the food chain. Not even great white sharks stand a chance. Only other whales larger than them stand a chance and even then since orca hunt in packs hence the term sea wolves - even full size whales get taken out by packs of orca. Orca are know to kill otters and sea lions and toss them up in the air to each other. Like playing catch. So you never know maybe this whale wasn't even hungry and just wanted to practice being at the top of the food chain on this single otter.
