I am a HUGE BBVD fan. I go see them live every time they come to Georgia. This time it was about a 285 mile trip (one way). It was absolutely worth it!! These guys sound even better live than they do on their discs. How often does that happen? I stayed after and they graciously signed all of my CDs and program. They could have been complete jerks because I brought so many things, but they were all super-nice and friendly. I even got my picture with Scotty. Great music and great guys.
I've been following these guys for nearly 20 years and they just keeping getting better. Once you hear them you'll love them if you like this kind of music.
Wow! What a tight jazz ensemble. Awesome in every way. I’ll be having this song in my head for days. Trumpet player has monster chops! All of you guys are masters of your craft, and it shows that you’ve invested years “in the wood shed”. Love the vocals too. Showmanship of the string bass, cool... could have sworn that I heard a fuller instrument section and some tuba playing too. Hmmmm, lots of music happening in this arrangement. Can’t complement y’all enough!!
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy nailing it again. Their cool retro style with their own unique additions make this a band who you want to hear over and over again. Super fun to listen to and awesome to swing dance too.
I’d go back to the 20’s in a heart beat love the era I have an old soul had it since I was born hope it never goes away clothes style art music it’s in me 😊
These folks, in addition to the Brian Setzer Orchestra, are why swing music is the best music of the modern world. Shame the revival didn't last longer than it did. I'd rather listen to this on mainstream radio than what they are playing (in terms of today's music).
Years ago in highchool i remember only a few kids liking Brian Setzer and Big Bad Voodoo as much as i did. Thankfully the rest of my generation held interest.
If wasn't for my dad who was there for the original...and had all those 78s, I wouldn't have gotten into swing way back...now we have BBVD & other bands updating it about & bringing back. I'm 65, grew up on rock but swing like this gets me
Saw the show in Montclair last night at the Wellmont Theater!!! Damn!!! You guys killed it. Amazing. Thank you- you just can't beat that big band sound. It ROCKED. I was smiling and bouncing all night! Lara Hope and the Arktones were also FABULOUS!
Beautiful music! Thanks guys. My warmest greetings to all true music lovers from Belgrade at the crossing of worlds and two large rivers. Makes me happy to be alive and kicking in these crazy times and less than wonderful world we all live in.
No joking. I have a male 35 year old Sulpur Crested Cockatoo named Ikarus. I call him Icky but I when I yell for him from another room or when coming home from work, I yell out for my "IGGA DIGGA DO " . I NEVER knew this song existed until right now when I typed it in the search bar then this came up. I know.....who cares.
They are fantastic LIVE! Such energy and they are really nice too! ^^ Scotty let me hug him! You just can't sit still with this song!! Tappin' in my Pj's! haha
Visually this takes me back to the days of Abbott & Costello, The 3 Stooges, Laurel & Hardy Also makes me think of Bonnie & Clyde, Al Capone, those old time cars
We have gone to Big Bad Voodoo Daddy a handful of times and it’s fun every time. Next time your in Milwaukee we will come and appreciate you all again. If any of you get a chance to see them live you will most definitely not be disappointed.
I saw them live last month and they were FANTASTIC! I recommend checking their tour dates and see them if you can. They are celebrating 25 years together - with all original members! What other group can say that? ;-)
“Diga Diga Doo” - My painting named after an exotica song. A song originally written by Jimmy McHugh & Dorothy Fields in 1928, for the Broadway Musical review “Blackbirds of 1928”. First recorded by Duke Ellington & his Orchestra in 1928. “Diga Diga Doo” became a huge hit. 21 bands recorded a version with lyrics FIFTY Instrumentals were recorded by various famous folk & their… "Orchestras, Big Bands, Jazz Orchestras, Ragtime Bands, Quartets, Ramblers, Low-Jazz Bands, a Generation of Swing, the Charleston City All Stars, Jean “toots” Thielemans, The Varsity Five, the Hot Puppies, The Knights of the Round Table, Riverboat Ramblers, Banjo Magic, The Hot Club of Cowtown, and of course BIG BAD VOO DOO DADDY!" However, in 1960 the great Martin Denny recorded such exotica tunes in Honolulu Hawai'i, in the Kamehameha School Auditorium - for the appealing acoustics.
LOVE IT!!!!!!!! I'VE NOTICED MANY PEOPLE IN DIFFERENT WAYS, ARE BRINGING THE ROARING 20s BACK.... LOVE IT!!! IF THERE WE'RE A TIME I COULD GO BACK TO, ITS ALWAYS BEEN THE ROARING 20s!!!
Yeah that's real cool Daddy-O. Put some swing in your soul and rattle 'dem bones. What you got here is the Big Bad Voodoo Daddy band, the smoothest, hippest cats around.
Now This is cool music, I'm 65 now and grew up with Elvis,Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra so I love this music., the best recent music is not up to par ,until this band!!!
Diga Diga Doo. What an awesome music video. This is one of my favorite exotica music tracks by Martin Denny. But it didn’t start that way. The original was written and performed for the Broadway musical “Blackbirds of 1929” by Jimmy McHugh (music) and Dorothy Fields (words). • It hit number 17 in the charts in 1928 when it was recorded by the Duke Ellington Orchestra. Diga Diga Doo went on to be recored many times by many artists: • The Mills Brothers (19342), • Benny Goodman (1935), • Cootie Williams (1937), and many others, etc… • It even was done in the film “Stormy Weather” by the great Lena Horne (1943.) • In the 50’s it was recorded as a EXOTICA music track by the king of Exotica Martin Denny. Who recorded it in the gymnasium of the King Kamehameha High School because of the neat acoustics. Quickly afterward it was recorded and released by the other exotica bands of the Hawaiian-craze of the day: • Les Baxter • Arthur Lyman It made it’s way through all the TIKI lounges in Waikiki and then the mainland where it hit such famous places as “Don the Beach Comber’s Tiki Lounge” and “Trader Vics”. It can even be heard today as it is still recorded by Neo-exotica bands and new acts capturing that Vintage hipster craze like “Big Bad Voo Doo Daddy”.
Very interesting. I'll have to do some research on that. I LOVE history. the Vikings in particular, but i am an enthusiast when it comes to any thing between the tesla era of electricity and the nintie's. thank you.
When they start touring again they are a must see. You owe it to yourself to have an enjoyable night out. We saw them at Wind Creek, PA; many of the audience dress age appropriate; dance in the aisles!
After years of listening to my worn out Boardwalk Empire soundtracks, an acquaintance introduced me to this group and a whole new genre of music. I can't get enough!!! But what's the genre called? Jazz Revival? Jazz Nuveau? I want to find more music like this. What albums should I get of theirs? Someone said they wore out their live CD. So happy to find this group and all of you as well. I just wish there were clubs in Phoenix or close by that I could go to and dress up like they do. I love that era, the music and the clothes so much! This song makes me so happy. Any others like it? :)
My 7-year-old granddaughter loves BBVD and she and I have been listening to it since she was very tiny when she was at home she asked Alexa to play one of your songs and her parents were surprised😊😂
Lived half my life - to discover this band right when i thought life was dull and yawn - oh and a whole new genre that goes back a centrury - so, Thanks BBVD... !
Открыла для себя чудо- чудное, диво- дивное!
Awesome. The feel of the 30’s and 40’s jazz is all there. Stellar performance by all.

There is NO music like this today. They turn their nose up at it and turn on RAP,
@@firstlast2034And then they turn the car radio volume up to maximum. They're just begging for an accident!

Just got home from their Christmas concert in Davenport, Iowa. So. Much. Fun!
That intro made me remember why I wanted to play Trumpet in middle school. I just wish I kept with it.

Rammstein.
Got to know (of) this band when I watched 'Swingers', which happens to be my favorite film of all time. Terrific band. Terrific style. Terrific music.
Great sounds and filming in black and white with a gray scale and the ending in 40's color truly makes this video unique and a must see video.
Siete fantastici grandiii 🎉❤
Мир Белых! Как в сказке побывал!!!
Molto bravi! Grazie
Во жгут!!! Супер! Это тот случай когда слова излишне.
It's criminal that we in the UK haven't heard of this band..................Or have we???
