I see a lot of people in the comment section going on about how overlooked BBVD is/was. These guys were freaking HUGE popular for a good minute or 15 and have been a steady part of the music biz ever since. Back in the 90's I'd seen them share the stage with some of the biggest bands in rock and punk and they had a video or 2 in heavy rotation on MTV. I'm happy to see bands from that era of swing like BBVD still out there kicking ass.. not to mention getting semi regular bookings on Letterman and such.
The classic style never gets old. My 13 year old started dancing to Glenn Miller's "In the Mood" when she was 2. She was bopping to it the other day when it came on.

I have no clue why you had to bring rap into this. The two genres are not comparable, beyond history. As a matter of fact, rap and history share cultural roots and significance, so even if you don't like rap, as a jazz fan you should at least respect it.
