I had an R code 500XL, bought new in 1963 in Heritage Burgundy w/black interior and loved every mile that I drove it - and it was driven daily. Cold starts the piston slap was LOUD. Traded for a '65 500XL w/390 PI engine. Then life (wife{ex}?) got in the way

Lopez Duti-bound California went on a mission some 30 years ago to tax or outlaw anything and everything to do with vintage cars, from car shows to dealers to swap meets. You can blame California for that ridiculous "Cash for Clunkers" program that induced people to junk perfectly good, paid-for cars, and go into massive debt replacing them with newer, worse cars.
If complete states are ever admitted to Hell, California will be the first arrival.

Our family had a solid black 4 door HARDTOP Galaxie 500 with a straight 300 hp 390. It was a beautiful car (4 door) that was, as I remember, a decent performer for a FAMILY CAR! It had a medium gray Naugahyde interior. My dad, who had a heavy foot at the time(he was in his early 40's) could catch a "scratch"(breakage of traction, hence a "chirp") of the rear tires while changing from 1st to 2nd with the Cruise-O-Matic transmission. It had factory air with an under the dash air conditioning unit. ZERO smog or emission equipment and factory dual exhausts which emerged somewhat subtly under the rear bumper. It proudly wore, of course, the 390 T-Bird "badges" on the front rockers behind each front tire. Those were the days!

Looks like some idiots picked a fram oil filter ... good way to ruin a engine .. plus revving a cold FE eng another dumb idea ... I let my 427 warm 10 min before
Driving ,, and 5 miles warm up driving before proper thrashing .... this was important information from Original owner taught me for my 2 R code cars and one 427 SOHC mercury .. he worked for Ford 61 -- 80 ..

Cities and towns have "councils". Automobiles with bucket seats have "consoles". Get your GED and learn the difference, so you don't grow up talking like an embarrassing Butcher Holler Hick.
Cracks in the paint are from not being prepared properly, and not "for some reason".
PS: People who won't disclose their price decline to do so only because they're embarrassed by it.

Thanks for pointing out the mispronunciation, we've even made fun of ourselves for it.

@@VoloMuseumAutoSales How conveniently you deliberately skip over the embarrassing parts, Mr. Center Council!
Now you know why intelligent people never trust crooked, lying car dealer thieves.
By the way, people who won't disclose their prices decline to do so only because they're embarrassed by them. There exists no other reason in the world.

@@lancasterritzyescargotdine2602 How conveniently you assume this is "Mr. Center Council" responding, it isn't. I was only commenting on what I'm familiar with. After talking with Mr. Center Council, regarding "the embarrassing parts", we were correct, it was "for some reason". Thanks for sharing your opinion on what more specifically could have caused it.
No embarrassment on the prices, I gave you two ways you can see our prices. Last I checked, the TH-cam video hosting platform uploader didn't have a place for us to include a sale price.
Thanks for the comments & engagement regardless,
      Mr. Not Center Council

@@VoloMuseumAutoSales OK, Mr. Anonymous Coward, so you're so crooked, you couldn't face the truth if the air you breathe depended on it. You're just another sleazy, lying, devious used car crook. And vintage car dealers - especially those who pretend to be museums (sic) - are the very worst on the planet. You Tube won't allow you to list your naughty, greedy, embarrassing prices? You are so full of it we can smell you all across the midwest.
Got any other clever bedtime stories to massage your victims with, like your lie about the paint is cracked "for some reason"? Like "Gee, how in the world did that happen?" Oh, don't you dare tell the truth, "The rear quarter needs to be refinished because our expert finger-painters never learned how to prep a car properly for a show quality finish." Or, "We removed the vinyl roof because it was beyond our budget to replace it." Or, "We throw mag wheels on everything when we're too lazy and cheap to locate the correct wheels and tires."
"We prefer to call our worst junk 'restored' because our buyers are too naive to know the difference between a restored car and a fixed-up car."
"We lie because it's traditional! It's the nature of the beast."
"If you're stupid enough to believe a '55 Chevy came from the factory with mag wheels, then you get what you deserve."
