- Castrol, Motul, Shell, Mobil, Liqui Moly... The market is full of branded performance engine oils but most of the manufacturers have their own recommendations. Motul is a popular choice amongst motorcyclists and it offer the same 10W-30 grade viscosity oil that TVS recommends for its TVS Apache RTR series of motorcycles. TVS Tru4 Synthetic 10W-30 engine oil is what TVS recommends for Apache RTR. The TVS Tru4 Synthetic 10W-30 is manufactured by Bharat petroleum who also have the lubricant brand MAK. The specifications and data sheet for TVS Tru4 Synthetic is not available on their website. So for this video I went ahead and lab tested the fresh sample of TVS Tru4 Synthetic engine oil. This video shares the Kinematic viscosity, Viscosity index, TBN, Flash point etc for TVS Tru4 Synthetic engine oil. In this video we compare the company recommended TVS Tru4 Synthetic with Motul 5100. Motul makes the engine oil with the same 10W-30 grade so it will be interesting to see this comparison between Motul and TVS engine oil.

The analogy @ 3:34! I could totally relate to it. That's the same reason I experience a drop in fuel efficiency after each engine oil change! Higher the viscosity of the oil, more is the resistance for piston movement which leads to burning of more fuel for the same stroke!

Tvs oil is the better than motul and castrol power for morning or first start of the day.

Does this engine oil look colorless inside engine? I am asking because I recently bought rtr 200 and checked the engine level pre delivery, it appeared as if there is no engine oil at all. Upon closer inspection I observed the new dip stick is made of metal and it all the more makes it difficult to check the level. I am now worried and confused after 1st delivery if they've actually changed the oil or not. As in this video the oil appears light green in color and inside the engine the oil appears almost colorless or a very light light golden color. I hope you can understand my concern and help me if you can. Is there any other method by which we can measure the oil level, as it's engine casing doesn't provide a sight glass, I found some rtr's have plastic dip stick which gives a better visibility or the presence of oil. Thank you.

Yes, you are right it that green shade is not visible on the dip stick. Even my 180 had a steel dip stick similar to the new RTR 4Vs so I can relate to your problem. Its easier to notice it when the oil gets old.
You can directly place the dip stick on a tissue paper (vertically aligned) which will give an impression of oil level and colour.

There are a lot of riders who are using 5100 in their RTR. As per my use I would prefer something superior from Motul like the 7100.

Bro, I'm using rtr 180 bs3 version2012, And I have changed engine oil on april 30 and did around 60km till today(may 12) Engine oil i'm using is stock Tvs tru4. And at the same date I changed my spark plug too(which is also stock twin electrod bosh one).Today morning, I see thst My bike fell down on the side of silencer due to heavy rain here. I have see heavy petrol leak(around 1L this is my best guess and it maybe less) some petrol is left there in the tank, I see an oil leak from where the clutch wire is connected to the engine.it was mild and the engine is so clear.But to my surprice the bike is not starting!!!! at first i thought it is due to low petrol so I fill it with 2L petrol then too it is not started.(i fill petrol in the evening and till that time park my bike under direct sun light).Then i tried multiple time with ignition switch and finally it started with white smoke from the exhaust then it stopped it'self.Then i try to start it agin and it just started but no white smoke this time but the idling sound was not perfect and it stopped it'self. Then i adjust the idling screw and increase the RPM and try again this time i continuously give throttle And heat the engine now the sound came to normal.And no visible white smoke. Since i see the white smoke before so i check the dip stick and to my surprice engine oil was in last x mark!!!!!😟😟😟😟😟 There is a mild engine oil leak from tensioner I'm sure it is not the reason for the drastic oil change. Then i doubt if engine oil is burning inside? but no visible white smoke is there(except the one shown at the first starting). One thing i notice that the smell of exhaust gas is very bad. Onething i notice that the CO is at 11 when i check the polution. Bro Please help me to find a solution. The bike is in the running condition now.

What you have faced is very common in motorcycles which experience fall.
Unless there is a mechanical damage, rest of the issues should go away.
Have you checked the air filter and air filter box? Look out for any presence of engine oil inside the air filter box.
If your engine was running fine before the incident then please revert back to your previous carb setting.
Throughly inspecte the engine for any oil leaks.
Sir can use castrol 5w 40 for
Amaze diesel and for how many km
You can use the Castrol 5w40 for your Amaze diesel till you reach the 14k kilometres mark but the engine oil filter's life is 10000 kilometres only ..If you replace the genuine engine oil filter @10K kilometres
and top up the motor oil level with the fresh oil of same grade, you can safely continue till another 4000 Kilometres ..
Approximate quantity of engine oil to be TOPPED UP during the engine oil filter replacement @10K kilometres is 600-900 ML ..
