    Ever since I found your channel I have had so much fun training my cat, she can do sit (and sit on a mat), paw, wave, high five, stand, fist bump, lie down and match now! I love how it brings us closer together, thank you for these videos, I’ll start working on this one soon!! 😊

    I tried this technique with my white cat Bebe, despite him having a previous injury on his tail, which resulted in the tail getting cut shorter and made him apprehensive to jump overall. However, he learned to jump with this technique in just two weeks. I was amazed to see how easy it was. Thank you for the easy steps and for opening a new world of possibilities for me and Bebe

    My cat is a 2yr old Tortie and she’s always loved to be held like a baby. So I just started bending my knees a little one day and tapping on my chest and she hesitated a couple of times like “does he want me to do what I think he does?” And then she did it. 5 minutes in on her first try. I was so happy! Now she does it on command whenever I call her name and tap my chest.

    This is the perfect treat to teach my cat, as he is already comfortable climbing on my shoulder because he likes to climb onto my back after I pick him up

    I like your videos and your method. Can we also teach our cat to fetch? I cannot imagine how this task could be broken down for them.

    My best friend's late kitty jumped into my arms all the time, sometimes without even being invited. I don't think he did that with anyone else, including my friend. My current kitty will jump on my back and ride me around, also without being invited.

    I met your channel this week and already bought a clicker for training my cats, but I have some doubts...
    I need to always use the clicker and ofer treats for them do the comand, even after spending time training?
    How I know them learned and if I can start another trick without hinder the another one already memorized?
    Thank you so much for the videos! Keep doing it!!

    Hi 😊 I’m enrolled in your programme and I started training my cat this trick three or four days ago. The one thing that always happens when I start teaching a new trick is that Minou would do the trick perfectly correct when I’m asking her to do so for the first time. (Of course she’s getting a treat that she really likes right away). But when I’m asking her to repeat this she starts ignoring me 😕 Can you explain that to me? I was wondering if I’m asking to much of her but if so why is she doing it perfectly fine before then 🤔? Should I still go one step back and make it easier for her or will she then learn that if she doesn‘t do anything she‘ll have to struggle less because I‘m I‘ll make it easier for her then....? Thank you in advance for your answer 😊

    The only trick my cat can do is eat way too fast and then puke on my carpet.
    She's very consistent at it.

    Is it possible to train my cat without the clicker? I tried using it with a treat but she gets scared of the clicker and stops coming for the treats.

    • @CatSchool
      @CatSchool  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Desensitize your cat to the sound of the clicker, by clicking from further away or muffling the sound (e.g., put it in a sock). Toss a treat to your cat from further away to pair the sound with something good. There will be a distance your cat can hear the click and not get scared so find that distance and start from there.

    my cat does this by himself, this is really cute, but sometimes he jumps on me when I don't expect him to and I have to react really fast and catch him
    he jumped on my back once when I didn't see him, that was painful 🙂

    This looks like a cool trick, but what if, after he learns how to do it, he randomly starts jumping on you when you don’t want it to happen?

    • @CatSchool
      @CatSchool  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      When you add a signal to the behavior and ONLY reward the ones when you present the signal, your cat learns that they have to wait for the signal to do the behavior. If your cat jumps on your for attention that means they want to do training and you can teach them a more appropriate signal, for example, waiting patiently at the spot where you do training sessions.
