I was able to snag a bottle of noble leather a few weeks, thankfully and it's amazing. I got samples of this juice 4 yrs ago and feel in love. It's one of the sexiest fragrances I own, period.

A very, very niche discussion. I've only been at this for 6 months so this level of discussion is both informative and intimidating. That said, I have the 2010 Rodrigo Flores-Roux reimagining of Houbigant's Fougere Royale. The $180 USD EDP and not the $600 special pure Parfum presentation. I do think it serves nicely as THE prototype fougere available today. I do wish, however, that Houbigant would have approached this project by creating two interpretations: one being an effort to recreate the 1882 original as exactly as possible given restrictions, source material differences and perfumery techniques, and two, a modernized reimagining of what Paul Parque would have done had he been of 2010 instead of 1882. I guess Flores-Roux essentially was Parque in the second scenario. I also have the newer Creed Millesime Tabarome. Just got it and wore it once. What value that fragrance gives beyond the collector appeal is the historical context of the frag it brings back. The whole Winston Churchill thing. The scent itself, evaluated based on the standards of today's market fails miserably in both scent and performance. A note on Creed Aventus and then designer fragrance appreciation. When I was introduced to this Game 6 months ago I quickly realized that the alpha frag, the myth, the legend, the alpha and the omega, the six hundred pound gorilla in the room, was this Creed Aventus thing. And that it and its creator was controversial. That it was enormously popular. And that it engendered incredible, and interesting, resentment and contrarianism. But if an "objective" list of frags, regardless of house orientation as designer or niche, were compiled based not only on artistic criteria, but popular and ancillary criteria too, Aventus would be the MUST inclusion. No masculine oriented frag is a really good analogue to Chanel's No. 5 for women, but in many ways, despite being only 10 or 11 years old, Aventus checks the boxes. Similar inclusion of designer fragrances - Bleu de Chanel etc. - warrants inclusion based on popular and ancillary criteria.

Daisy was played by Mira Sorvino & Nic Carraway is played by Paul Rudd. Gatsby is played by the British actor, Toby Stevens. Check it out if you can, filmed in Montreal.
Chanel is one of the few major brands that still doesn’t have an oud. Keep up the collaborations. Good point re: transition away from blended / abstract scents. Kind of a shame, IMO. I don’t feel any more intelligent because I can pick out notes. I too love Leather Oud. I find it more civet / leather heavy than “Oud.”
Love the series and you two together but You guys had to include the discontinued once!!! I just think that we can’t share the passion with you since it’s impossible to get... Also there are a lot of great houses with great perfumes not discontinued today that deserves a spot. Tom Ford doesn’t give credit to perfumers why not talk about Frederic Malle then! I know Max likes Musc Ravageur!
The way Papa P hates anything related to Creed cracks me up 🤣 I wonder why. To be fair I think it’s over hyped and cringe dudes like Jeremy Fragrance made it even worse. Please start a new series Maxi and Papa P. Maybe a bests of each brands or best perfumers, big love ❤️
If you love Absolu pour le Soir then try Leather Oud again. I am not saying they are twins but the share a certain animalic quality. The MFK on the sweeter honey side and the Dior more on a smokey leather side of things.
