I am glad that some brands are keeping the chypre style alive. Such a great style, sad it is out of style and good chypres are hard to find. Good list, I need to try some of these
I think Chanel Antaeus should definitely get a mention in the conversation of chypré. It’s a staple fragrance that’s animalic, herbal and masculine, and the newer formulations are actually better blended than the older ones from what I’ve heard. It always struck me as Chanel’s Eau Sauvage.
I agree with you BUT ! i compared the performance of the almost first edition (xxv 25) with the new 40 , the performance sadly almost the same or even 25 feel stronger 😞
WOODY CHYPRE 🥰 I hope oak moss makes a comeback with the new process. Polo in splash bottle was incredible ♥ 🤣 The whole room knew you where coming or had been there.
I snapped up a 50ml bottle of Evernia at a great price when they were ditching them and moving to the 88ml size. I have a lot of OJ fragrances but had never thought about Evernia... so glad I did though, it's a beautiful scent.
Dear Sebastian, I do hope you can get your nose on Hugo Boss The Collection series of perfume intense. I got Passionate Chypre (Fabrice Pellegrin) and Bold Incense (Loc Dong), very intense and interesting Oriental leaning fragrances. Passionate Chypre opens very dry with an inky black leathery background…it’s not like the usual chypre and these is a strong ambergris layer. Very potent and lingers on my skin even after washing. Bold Incense is strange, it is fresh and yet has a dirty smoky metallic vibe to it.
Oh gosSHhhh! I’ll have to sample POaL just to see if it beats another one you mentioned (the only one I currently own on this list) which I absoluUtely adore 🤔❤
Sadly I don't know it. The only one I know is Iquitos which I have a vintage bottle of but the rest I don't remember even though I have sampled some of them along the way! :(
🔥🔥🔥Find out about the fragrance I have created with Jusbox and Julien Rasquinet here: th-cam.com/video/sasrBKfV2_k/w-d-xo.html 🔥🔥🔥

Super collection and a wonderful category. Noir de Noir would get my vote and polo always deserves an honourable mention in any category 👌🏼
Jubilation 40, smell-wise, has risen to my top Amouage frag.

I have a vintage Jubilation XXV and that is a much better fragrance
@@chbreet40 isn’t the same as 25…
@@chbreet Yep, sadly doesn't project as much as I would like it to.
I’m stuck on Reflection 45
I have Noir DN and Salome- now I need the rest
I believe Roja makes excellent chypres especially the aptly named Chypre Extraordinaire
I wore Aromatics Elixir for years as my signature scent, not sure why I quit and it does not do the same thing for me today.
I bought portrait of a lady due to you and I absolutely love it!😊 first time I wore it got compliments everywhere I went.. such a gorgeous trail❤
Great list, but I am surprised that Anthracite isn't on it.
I missed you yesterday. 😢glad you’re back today!!!🎉
I’ve been dealing with major fatigue, so I had to take the day off. The back today and the rest of the week so stay tuned. 😀
I love Gris Dior the only one i have from this list.
Gris Dior so chic and modern❤
Loving the series❤🎉🎉🎉
Thank you

I adore Chypres. I’ve tried most of these and own many of them. You’ve listed some of my favourites here. Thank you for this series.
Gris Dior!
Fabulous

Thanks for sharing! That’s kind of what happened to me sort of and I love it!! 😀
My best reviewer, "THE PERFUME GUY" 😊❤

At the moment my chypre perfumes are byredo rose noir and Zara black dart. The next one I'd like to try is chypre shot.
Rose noir is amazing
Bottega Veneta EDP (discontinued) is my favorite chypre fragrance. So classy and sexy!
I know it's a bummer! :(
I love Portrait of a Lady, Gris Dior and the original Jubilation Man. Need to get my nose on the 40 version.
Myrrhe 55 is so good. It was the price holding me off from getting a bottle😖
I love woody, and I love Chypre fragrances. Wonderful video!
I just tried Clinique Aromatics Elixir last week and I really like it!
Good to know! See if you can find the Aramis 900
I discussed it in this video they have similarities.
My most favorite style of fragrance.
Oh gosSHhhh! I’ll have to sample POaL just to see if it beats another one you mentioned (the only one I currently own on this list) which I absoluUtely adore 🤔❤
Wonderful video brother
Thank you for this video.. I like it so much
Most welcome 😊
I love Knowing by Estee Lauder
Oh yes a classic for sure!!
Great list, exactly what i needed. Thanks for the video 🙏
Gris Dior best of the best
It’s quite good!! And very popular.
Great list! Chypre siam has been reformulated lately. The juice is much lighter now.
Thanks for sharing! That’s a bummer or is it just needing to age?
That model is from 2018
@@ThePerfumeGuy what color was yours when you got it?
@@shahzadghaffar4373 Dark green
Nice choice my friend! 👍👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
I’m trying to find a feminine scent that is a dupe for Alain Delon’s Le Temps D’aimer. Any recommendations please?
Sadly I don't know it. The only one I know is Iquitos which I have a vintage bottle of but the rest I don't remember even though I have sampled some of them along the way! :(
@@ThePerfumeGuy Iquitos was the pour homme version of Le Temps, with very similar notes and scent DNA
Would you consider a fragrance that is woody sweet and spicy a chypre?
chypres typically have bergamot in the top notes, heart features labdanum and sometimes rose then oakmoss and or patchouli in the base.
Richwood from Xerjoff????
Hey @Sebastian question do you know of a great perfume to bottega Venetta knot? My mother loves that one
I will have to search I haven’t found anything unfortunately
Polo Ralph Lauren Green
Yes! It was mentioned!!
Rogues rocks, there are more nice scents. I am familiar to the most mentioned fragrances and have some in my perfume wardrobe.
Thanks for sharing!
I have a small Portrait of a Lady and cherish it, beautiful!!
How long does Myrrhe 55 last on you? i had a sample, 12 hours from one spray, got a bottle, 5-6 hours maybe. Shame.
More like 5/6 hours def not 12 hours
Can you please do lemon verbena list?
I thought about this, but I don’t have that many. I’ll have to dig around.
@ThePerfumeGuy Okay, whatever you decide to do...
Jubilation 40 a woody chypre?🤔
No Aventus? 😱😂
Do you really want me to speak about that fragrance? 🤣
Especially since it's classified as a Fruity Chypre. Although I consider it a Woody fragrance due to the prominent birch wood.
👍👍👍
❤✨
