I'm a woman who loves wearing Herod! You're right about the minimal projection, but it blooms in the heat. I get a lot of compliments when worn in the summer. It's one of my favorite casual/daytime perfumes. Hermes Terre D'Hermes is my favorite classic men's fragrance.
I have an original Drakkar Noir from 1981 (with patchouli) and a bottle from 1986 (without patchouli). They are stronger than a current bottle but not by much. I think nostalgia has strengthened Drakkar Noir in our minds but not in reality. Definitely worth getting your hands on an original with patchouli. Very VERY different than the known formulation.
@@pandafragrance it’s possible that the bottles I own have mellowed out over the past 40 years but I think it’s our memory that has faded and not the fragrance.
Love the Hermes line. The year the EDT came out I was on a plane and the magazine had sample inside. I instantly fell in love and went out and bought it once we landed. It’s the only fragrance in my collection where I have been through multiple bottles. I have all the flankers as well and love them all.
Another classic 80s fragrance I would add to the list is Aramis. I remember my dad wearing it in the 80s. I still wear it fall winter and spring. Very manly scent. I even have an inspired by shaving soap and aftershave with this scent.
Sadly, the classic AMS fragrances are all getting discontinued by Estée Lauder. Check out this video. th-cam.com/video/xOugBh8Vh3o/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bi3Av_PXxI7kHSEZ from around four years ago.
My first fragrance was Drakkar Noir. I got it for Christmas from my folks. It came with a garment bag as a free gift. So classic. I might have to get a bottle for nostalgic purposes 👍🏻
To me that LV-IMAGINATION smells like the original chrome but a polish updated BEAST MODE version!!! dude at work gots it, man it's strong when he walks by...
I always get compliments for Météore and Imagination. I was surprised by that review when you didn't like them... Luckily, you gave it a chance. These two smell really cool.😇
Yeah, I actually came back to my college apartment to do some maintenance today. Me and my mom just left, and I'm bringing back La Nuit De L'Homme Bleu Electrique for the summer
I had the same initial impression with Imagination. I barely wore it until I tried to get rid of it. It’s when I got addicted to wearing Imagination. So fresh yet so sexy.
Reflection and Imagination are amazinf. The former for its easiest florals for any man and the latter with its tea citrus and ginger mix that just works
Finally got in my calaj Delizia Oscura in from Romania. Super strong scent and they sent me 3 samples of their other stuff. The first one I am exploring is t shelby. Seems like it is great for summer and spring.
I am a Guerlain fanatic and have Habit Rouge, which I think is unisex. I don't like the new bottle. I have not encountered a Guerlain scent that I do not like yet (but I don't have them all). I want to check out the Houbigant fragrances. I love Chantilly and am not really familiar with anything else from this house. This is a great list to have for gifts, too. Wonderful idea, Sebastian. 😊😊
Imagination to me reminds me of a kind of designer vibes, not bad, yeah is good but very very expensive for that type of smell! Ombre Nomade and Les Sables Roses are definitely my favourite from the house
Have you tried Ralph Lauren Purple? I love love it!! It’s like after drakkar…nothing really stood out for me that’s remarkable and unique and trend setting…until I smelled this. It didn’t get popular enough because now it’s only online. But I thought it’s one of those scents that come once in a lifetime and becomes a trend like Drakkar and Creed Aventus ….but it never did
You know how many times I have thought about buying that fragrance? I just smelled it a few weeks ago again. I really enjoy it. I might just do it! LOL! ;)
Wonderful entertainment, thank you. Interesting what you said regards Herod, I sold mine because I so wanted it to ‘kick out’, but I agree with you entirely, alas it doesn’t.
I actually own it. I bought it off of someone you know honestly it’s really good but personally, it’s not worth the price tag if you pay the full retail.
You're too fragrance experienced not to come around to LV Imagination, glad to see it. Such a stunner in the air when given time to do its thing....pure magic and perfect name 🤌
Naxos gynamede elysium imagination Burlington1819 .kilian black phantom. afternoonswim. sauvageelixer. Ysl blue electric. kilian angelshare nishane ani bvlgari tygar These are phenomenal
Egoiste is amazing. Bentley For Men has been butchered heavily. Doesn’t last as old batches. La Nuit De L’Homme Bleu Electrique has the same vibe of Gris Charnel by BDK. Imagination and L’Immensite are my favorite and the ones I own. Cheers
I love imagination as does my wife so much so that she has taken to wearing it. The scent lasts for hours and hours and hours. You can put it on in the morning and you still smell it in the evening
I remember drakkar being in a taller thinner bottle, not the short squatty ones I see now. Was that just a packaging change or is it a different fragrance?
Yes it did used to be taller. Not sure why or when they did the change. Might have been cheaper to do it this new way? I'm guessing. Or just someone said must be changed. LOL! ;)

But if you’re looking to get a bottle I jus ordered one from Jomashop for a steal of a price at $150
Honestly if I had to suggest classics from Penhaligons, English Fern is an almost archaeological example of a fougere, Sartorial is the heir to Brut, but the true Patriarch of Penhaligon's has to be Blenheim Bouquet
Really surprised you didn’t include a Rose/Oud. Even though the market for them is over saturated, I think the combo has become as legendary as the fougere and chypre!
why do fragrances tend to be less potent and more watered down with the majority of reformulations - why cant they make fragrances more potent with time!
Sadly they remove from it and can't add more to cover up what they removed. That is my experience with reformulations. It's most noticeable with really old releases. It's not always the case but very evident in some.
@@ThePerfumeGuy why are they unable to add something to replace what was removed? Do you think companies water the fragrances down to make more profit or is it just down to IFRA restrictions?
I think it's IFRA mostly but I believe the brands take advantage of the situation with launching countless flankers. That's just my opinion and what I feel from experience !:)

Royal oud is a masterpiece . One of my favorites from creed.
Great list. These are truly timeless and I have a feeling in another 20 years, people will still be talking about many of these.
Imagination is GREAT!! TF Oud Wood and LV Imagination highly complimented for me.!!
Because of the price, just ordered blind the Encre Noire l’Extreme. Can’t wait to try it. Love Sycamore and have Frederic Malle, French Lover. 👍🏻
GREAT! I hope you like it as much as I do! :)
Dior Homme Parfum is fabulous, recently got a new bottle from Dior in Paris.

I absolutely love the Aramis line of Fragrances.
Dior homme parfum is and will always be timeless to me, planning to get my second bottle very soon!
Dior Dune homme is so underrated and still great. This is a timeless classic one.
Oh yes it's good. A lot of Dior's men's classic scents are excellent!! :)

Hello this is Latonya love Issey Miyake for men it is a classic love your Channel love when your videos come on
When I met my husband, he used to wear Egoiste. It’s still one of my favorite scents for men. Second is Chanel Pour Homme.
YAY a classic!! :)
Guerlain Habit Rouge is fantastic, definitely my favourite from the list.
Very interesting to see so many fragrances that I like go so far back. Thanks Sebastian, Cheers😎
Louis Vuitton pacific chill
Some fantastic choices here. So much to like and definitely I agree they are all classics that will never go out of style

Great review. Deeply appreciate.
Solid list!

I know you've talked about Afternoon Swin but I cannot get enough of it. I bought both sizes.
Another great video Sebastian, and Dior Parfum is excellent, but I always thought Portrait of a Lady was your favorite fragrance 🤔
Yay, thank you.
WOW what a list Chanel Egoiste, Issey Miyake, Terre D’ Hermes, Bentley for Men Intense and PDM Herod all are or have been in my arsenal.

Guerlain is such a great house.
@@ThePerfumeGuy It is! And how many people know their vintage scents, like Jicky, for example?
Love Herod and imagination! I do wear them aswell❤
Imagination is my favorite LV, Followed by L'imensity and ombre Nomade and the not so spoken about from LV which is Myriad.
Imagination to me reminds me of a kind of designer vibes, not bad, yeah is good but very very expensive for that type of smell!
Ombre Nomade and Les Sables Roses are definitely my favourite from the house
Creed Himalaya 🙂👍🏼
LVers I would recommend you really really wear it on skin in summer. Heart and dry down are quite interesting.
Floris 89 will forever be in my collection. I still enjoy Faberge Brut as an aftershave.
Congrats for this list. I own some of them and share your view on these. Thx

Clinique happy men. Delicious. Great video!

Same thing happened with BR540. I couldn't stand it before. And now I still love it! :)
Cacharel pour l'homme and the original polo Ralph Lauren but both have to be the original!
reflection ❤️ bleu Electrique ❤️ royal oud ❤️ are my favorite 😍
Awesome list!
What are your thoughts on Chanel Platinum Egoiste?
According to me it’s a fragrance that’ll also never go out of style
Metallic Aromatic. I wore it. I like it. :)
Surprised no mention of Green Irish Tweed.
Guerlain Vetiver, in the old bottle, the juice in the new bottle is reformulated.

Dior Homme Parfum for the win!

Lalique Encre Noire L'Extreme is champagne tastes on beer budget!
Bleu eletrique and royal oud are my favorite!!
Royal oud is just great .👍🏽
Issey miyake was the starting point in fragrances for me.
Absolutely love Drakkar Noir, Leau Dissey Pour Homme, Terre D Hermes and Bleu Electrique ❤
YAY! Good stuff for sure.
I like imagination but the longevity is pretty upsetting, clean smelling and good stuff, I prefer pacific chill over imagination
It’s pretty decent and extreme heat, but yeah normal where I think it doesn’t have a good longevity
I love imagination as does my wife so much so that she has taken to wearing it. The scent lasts for hours and hours and hours. You can put it on in the morning and you still smell it in the evening
Great video
Thanks for the visit
First video without crazy unkown perfumes to me😄
LOL! But I like crazy unknown perfumes! ;)
Dear Sebastian, Dior Homme ist the second one, the best ever created by Dior is FAHRENHEIT. Regards Alex

Naxos! Not a Classic but will be!

L'Homme Ideal by Guerlain will always be my favorite!
Was Drakkar Noir more animalic feel back in the days? Kind of Antaeus vibes?
Would've expected POAL on the list. DHP is 🔥❤
I mostly featured men's targeted fragrances. :)
Vibrato is the best!
I really like imagination but the price is the only thing stopping me from buying it
I prefer a lot the older bottle of Guerlain than the new square one
YES Agree. But it is what it is sadly! :)
Blue Electrique was released 2021?
I believe so yes. :)
Thanks.
Appreciate you stopping by. ;)
Musc Ravageur should have made the list iwbh 😏😊
Imagination gets me more compliments than every other fragrance I have combined
Yeah, I don't like the square Guerlain bottles, either. They have none of the elegance of the older styles. Still love the juice, though!
For me the best drakkar edition is dynamik
Never got my nose on it. Although I probably did but it wasn't as popular as Noir was! :)
L'immensite is slightly better than Imagination imo
I feel like the original boss bottled should have been on this list instead a lot that were actually listed
Maybe on the next one!! I love it. And it still smells great today.
For me it has to be (no particular order):
Chanel Coromandel
Chanel Sycomore
Dior Homme Intense
Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille
Tom Ford Tuscan Leather
Tom Ford Oud Wood
Amouage Reflection Man
Ysl La Nuit de L'Homme
A*Men Mugler
Nasomatto Pardon
Creed Royal Oud
Creed Aventus
Hermès Terre d'Hermes
Guerlain Habit Rouge EdT
Kilian Back to Black
Frederic Malle Musc Ravageur
Frederic Malle Vetiver Extraordinaire
Roja Enigma
I know some are marketed as unisex, but men buy them a lot.

Royal Oud by Greed! 😄👍
