Alot of bad reviews on amazon on the thumbstick im thinking its because they didnt put the covers on instantly the covers make it feel 10 times better!
Nice controller my current favourite. I also have the Backbone 2nd & the GameSir G8. I like them all for different reasons. Overall/all-round nice controller for the price. No problems at all with my analog sticks, smooth, slick, accurate & silent 🔕 You may have been unfortunate & received a faulty one. Also I wouldn't label the spring mechanism as a con especially when it's not supposed to be pulled out/extended beyond it's limit 🙂 Nice to see more & more people review it this past week. It was released in china a few months ago & so I had a friend send it to me. It's been fun. I still prefer the Backbone One for certain games but for the £20 or so I paid for it I think it's amazing.
@@Swanson11105 I would look at other options before considerong the Backbone due to the high price however I do like the BackBone One (2nd Gen) it supports rumble using the phones haptics in a clever way, something both the G8 & X2S lack. The vibration is nice, not too subtle, not too overpowering or too strong. (Currently not supported with remote play but works natively with most games & emulators) When playing driving/racing games you feel the bumps/crashes, it enhances the experience/immersion, it's not too strong or too soft, also you feel/sense the environments e.g driving over gravel/stoney surfaces. Same applies for shooting games, fighting games etc. Also the face buttons are more to my liking, similar clickiness to the PS Vita buttons, the D-Pad is also great, works well with all different types of games. The G8 is a nice to have for a console controller experience, nice build quality, amazing buttons. X2S for the price it's the best option, it does everything to a top level & simply works as expected/intended. Backbone One is overpriced but that's not to say it's bad. I really like it but I wouldn't have paid the £100 it's listed at. I bought mine from Argos here in the UK with vouchers I received as an gift. I hope that was helpful 🙂
Gamesir really need to make a controller for tablet, it's gonna be for sure a success because there is absolutly no concurrence and a big market to take
I was wondering why they'd go back to a left side usb, but it does makes sense for folding phones. My guess for the thick rubber on the right is so that camera bulges rest in the gap, rather than on the right side edge 🤷
For anyone who might want to know: This controller is compatible with iphone 15 series, but the gamesir app on ios doesn’t recognize it. Making it not possible to customize as much as you might want.
Nice review. I think you answered all of my questions. Now I want to get my hands on the Bluetooth version. Lavender. Lavendar. Color. Colour. Tomato. Potato. Have a good one mate.
Not sure if this controller has the same issue with gamesir x2 pro, but the gamesir x2 pro only supports some phones for the pass through charging, which is a bummer.
I really wanna buy this. So, i have been surveying around. Is it compatible with all phone with type-c usb (i have a realme 9 pro) ? And just wondering...can you play stardew valley on it?
I got the kishi v1 when it first came out but now the rubber on the analog sticks is starting to come off so I'm looking for a new phone pad that doesn't have such mushy sticks
Only thing I can recommend for that is a small type C flash drive for extra storage. And you'd have to use a regular Bluetooth controller. Only workaround I know of. Idk if you could insert the flash drive on these pass thru controllers. 🤔
nice review as always. But bro, it seems like the way you turbo the A button hasn't last for at least 2 seconds. I guess thats why.. From their user manual, it has to be held for at lease 2 secs.
my bad. I thought you were doing the key swapping. so if you're turning the turbo. Yeah holding the button that you wanna set up the turbo and the capturing button. Actually no need to be at least 2 secs. as long as you see the light flashes. But the problem you mentioned - blinking not consistent is actually not a big deal IMO. @@RetroBreezeYT
Great review Shem. Totally agree on the downsides of the controller, the purple buttons look good but on the back it's just too much, I'd prefer something a bit more muted too. The tablet support is nice but getting it to be that saggy in such a short time frame is worrying. I can imagine the R1/L1 buttons being annoying as hell when they are that clicky, just gotta play an action game that uses them repeatedly and you'd be ready to throw the controller out of the window, lol. Midway through the video I was about to ask you how it compares to the G8, but you were ahead of the game, glad to know the G8 still performs well despite being older, yes I can see them being for different purposes. That tablet support implementation looks an awful lot like yours too though, with the springs exposed like that, doesn't look official. How would you say the end result compares, I know you don't have the G8 anymore but did it give you that saggyness problem? Is your Shadowblade 2 tablet modded or did you leave it at stock? Offtopic from the video: My G8 should arrive in 4 days and I cannot wait to use it with my Red Magic 9 Pro, pretty sure the gaming experience is gonna be amazing! Might also do the tablet mod to use it on my Tab S8+ for gamestreaming, a bit afraid though. Cheers!
The right side is thicker so it can fit phones with the case on without it messing withe usb port. An important selling point that no reviewer mentions
@@RetroBreezeYTImpact force, the resistance, not difficult to understand kid. Tin Tin lookalike 😂 The clock from beauty and the beast moustache looking dweeb 😂
No this controller does not fit cases thicker than 1mm. The phone fits with a case thicker, but the usbc port is too short, it does not reach deep enough in the phone to connect. I own this controller and tried.
@@davidhooks7765 There is no left or ride side thickness. You connect the port on the bottom of your phone. It’s not really about right or left side. It’s all about the phone case’s thickness near charging port being too thick that the usb doesn’t get deep enough to connect or not.
Yeah, but then you play in non-controller lobbies and the game already has controller support anyway so there's no reason why it shouldn't work natively!
Leave a like on this video if I can't spell lavendar... levander... ladinder...
Darth Vader 👍
Ladinder.. Man why do i like this nonexistent word.
Just on your unit, I got mine 2 days ago on JD. No clicking and very solid feeling.
Does it work with call of duty mobile?
In Xbox mode it should my bro yeah ayn Odin 2 did
U can remove the top cover over the controls without unscrewing maybe something is under there

How does it compare to the X2 Pro?

Did they update the app to recognize the controller?

You mentioned that you didn't like the X2 Pro, why didn't you like it and how does the X2-S compare to the X2 Pro? They look similar.
Not sure if this controller has the same issue with gamesir x2 pro, but the gamesir x2 pro only supports some phones for the pass through charging, which is a bummer.
Any updates on the bluetooth one?
I think the right side has more rubber because it doesn't have the USB C port to rely on like the left side
This looks like a perfect controller for foldable phones, do they have other color options?
Not right now. Just the upcoming blue and black bluetooth version

I'm looking to get either this or the x2 pro since it's on sale which you think is the better option?
Get this one if you want the hall effect stick get the x2 pro if you want 1 month of free game pass.
is this worth it or should i just buy retro handheld for 50 to 70usd?
Does this really drain the battery when in standby mode like the other gamesir controllers do?
Loved my x2 pro except for that.
Any chance you could remove the rubber for another look? Kinda what I wanna do, but see if you're willing to sacrifice yours in the name of science 😅

fit note20u, s23u and s24u?

Yes!
For the Type-C Version only for iPhone 15 Series but the Bluetooth Version for iOS Phones in general.

Does it work with Yuzu?
