yeah, I have been a big critic of him as a song writer previously (not his skills). This isn't new territory so to say, but it's very clean and balanced between jazz and pop

My favorites atm are "In My Room" and "Hideaway." I feel like I'll enjoy the songs more in separate playlists that fit the way they feel to me. I also fell like speakers really compliment his music over headphones.

Everything is so subtle. The focus on mono/center for the simpler focus of the song and light dabblings of stereo. The modulations and substitutions are impeccable of course. But what really tickles me to death is the quarter-tone shift up for that last chorus. It takes a great focused song and gives it that little push over the edge into sensational. Done so well that you can't place it at first why it is so sonically 'heightened' ... but it's literal! Keep on keepin on

It was basically a praise for the prowess of JC. There is Tigran hamasyan, Hiromi, Snarky Puppy, tosin abasi, etc many other upcoming budding musicians, and many that I'm not aware of.
I've always loved Jacob's music. But this is something extra special. No idea what it is about this song particularly, but somehow it is just so perfect for this moment. Positive and glorious.
