I'm glad I bought my unit last year around Christmas. Including sales from Garmin bass pro & my bass pro club points earned, I got my echomap Ultra 106sv with gt54 for $742+ tax last winter. The new units are not worth upgrading if you already have an ultra. Sure if you're ready to buy a new unit anyway, then their great. They don't have better screen resolution or processing speed. I'm a Kayak angler so 1 unit is all I need. No reason to network & don't care about sharing screen recordings. I've still never even taken a screen shot. I wanna catch fish not fittle with the unit anymore that I already have to! Echomap Ultras are excellent units!
That's great! How are yall finding these literally next to nothing on price? Everything I'm looking at is $1800-$4k..? Maybe black friday will have something...? Glad you got a great deal.
Well I bought the echomap ultra 106sv after Christmas sale, then found a deal on steady cast heading sensor. Both of those deals only worked if you bought the items online with your bass pro credit card & picked them up in store, not home delivery. Then the following spring Bass pro a a special for 1 week when they put the lvs32 on sale again for 1000. But they had another deal going on the Lvs34 at same time along with 500 off any purchases over $1500. So I got the Lvs34 then. I just saved my $ & waited for good deals. It took a lot of patience. I looked at all the units for year n half before I could decide what to get. That Garmin going on sale for that price is what pushed me to the garmins. I wouldn't change anything. The Ultra 106sv, steady cast, & lvs34 system has been excellent!
I am wondering if the ultra2 has better screen quality. I remember I saw some review compare ultra screen vs UHD, ultra' s screen color was not nice as UHD😮
@@shaneomacski23 It would be nice to have. Humminbird owns the rights to the technology. Garmin is either paying Humminbird or they have a cross licensing agreement. I use Reefmaster software and can do offsets that way.
I reckon Garmin missed a chance to clearly lead the industry with these. It would have cost very little to upgrade the resolution and would justify the price increase. Screen share is just a massive wank.
Garmin is an absolutely amazing Business actually mainly in fitness watches but as an item called an *"InReach"* which is a global communication device which is starting to be integrated into their fitness watches now obviously far more than fitness watches but yes very much a back door into the cell phone market is Garmin suddenly plus of course trolling motors and this as well...aircraft electronics as well too😊
is it. I cant find a side by side compare. Most the ones i seen they are using a GT54 to compare. I have GT 56 and my buddy has a bird so once the snow gone im going to do a side by side compare. I think the GT56 is dam close if not just as good
I’ve got both the Garmin with a GT-56 and the bird SI+ on my boat. There is no comparison. The bird is twice as clear and it maintains a clear image three times as far as the Garmin.

Great videos guys! Question, Is the processing speed faster on the ultra V1 vs the uhd2
Can you share waypoints between 106 and 126 ultra 2’s?
how do I make helm full-screen display mode on android 13?
I am wondering if the ultra2 has better screen quality. I remember I saw some review compare ultra screen vs UHD, ultra' s screen color was not nice as UHD😮
The ultra has a way higher screen resolution than the UHD. THE Ultra 2 has the same resolution as the Ultra.
Yeah I know but I am talking about the color and screen clarity , not the resolution. I will see if I can find the video I mentioned earlier. Thanks
he said the screen quality is the same
Still wish the EchoMap units would allow for water depth offset. So if you are on a lake and the water is 10' low, you can set your map to match.
You can with the new Garmin Navionics Vision+ card!
What about lowrance and cmap?
@@shaneomacski23 No Lowrance does not have water level offset.
I'm hoping c map will get on the water depth offset train soon!

Are they in stock now?

You can only WiFi network two units. You won’t be able to network three units wirelessly.
This is correct!
Just adding that bit of info for people running more than two units.
So you can't use 2 units and a Force Kraken on WiFi?

Ultra 2’s come out shortly after I pick up the ultra 106 LOL
That 106 is still a solid unit! You're gonna love it!
@@BehindTheReelFishing I’ve loved it all season. It’s made me want LVS so bad, badddddd lol
@@CasualBassGuy we get used lvs 32's in on trade fairly often! 😁
Looks great but the 106 I bought two months ago for a stand alone scope screen is still just as good. Not enough to buy a new one
Can I access vessel view mobile
Sadly no improvement to the sidescan resolution, Humminbird is still clearly better.

From everything I have seen, they are very comparable

No preview... just talking.
