Been wondering about the difference for a while. I have the gt54 on my 93uhd Garmin, and am in the market for a new one for my new 'Yak (10" screen model comes with a gt56 transducer, but they ARE a little "pricey"!). I also want to get Live Scope for it in the future (another $1750, I guess), and want everything to be compatible. Been told by "Experts" that the "Only"way to Go" would be to use the 10" with the Live scope, and get another 9" for my Side/Down view, and get a battery for each! (Heck, that'll cost me nearly as much as I paid for my $4,000 'Yak.....!). Lol Thanks for the Great Review, and I'm coming back and watching it again in the future.
Thank you very much it was a great video, I just set up a dvx22 vexus, with two Garmin 12-in and two hummingbirds 12 inch with live scope Plus on the Garmin up front so I'm trying to learn as much as I can you are a great help and I think I'm going to upgrade to the 56 transducer
Davis where in the crappie world have you been? Another great informative vid. I've got to tell you, because of you and the experience of going out "naked" with no electronics with my daughter and not catching any fish. I began watching your video's to get educated. Now I have 2-9" and 2-10". Still don't catch a ton of fish but the kids love seeing them and I feel good that I'm at-least close to them. Thank You!
Glad to hear your having fun on the water. Unfortunately, Ive been working alot of overtime at my regular job this summer so not much time to fish. Good news is the overtime is slowly down, so I'll be on the water a lot more this fall.
great video to which I will surely return but for now I'd like to know where you get those screw on wire splicings. I need to reduced 8 gauge down to 14 for my power cords.
@@YakbassOKC i typically use sidevu when scanning for brush, weeds, rocks, etc. If I find a brushpile that I think has fish on it, I will circle back over it with downvu to verify if there are fish suspended above the brush
I have a UHD93SV and I hate the 1070hz for side scan. I chase open water suspended Crappies and it doesn't pick them up hardly at all. I put it on 455 and I can easily see the schools of fish I drive by. I can even tell with some accuracy how big they are. I have also noticed the higher in the water column the easier these things can pick up fish, and if there is a bunch of floating debris on the surface forget it. It will all show up and you will be looking for fish that aren't there. I set my side vu at 60' both sides. Mine you have to have the brightness on high or it will just be black. Both my units are like that.
Isn't the GT56 a much higher wattage transducer and would then give better sidevu images at longer ranges than the GT54? I have a GT54 on a 93sv and have been maming this debate on upgrading to the 56. The biggest thing I was thinking was this increased range of sidevu visibility because of higher wattage.

You always put out a great video. This was one of the best!
Glad you enjoyed it!
What mode do you use? I just bought Garmin echomap 93sv w/54 and I thought side view would the way to go, but I never own a fish finder

Did you catch any crappie?
I caught enough for dinner
Where did you get those screw lock crimps
The screws that attach the screen to the mount? You can order then from the Garmin.com
@@FloppingCrappie I think he means the wiring ones at about a minute
@jbsvideos5589 oh, here is a link to them. amzn.to/4cNEtD9

GT36 for what you are talking about but no down sonar.
Who has a gt56 probe to give as a gift?🙏🍻
Waste of time, I have both 56 is not worth the extra money!
