10:22 Learn more about the benefits of baking soda!
Today we’re going to talk about the dangers and benefits of baking soda.
Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate. Your body actually makes sodium bicarbonate.
Different parts of the body have different pH levels. Even different parts of your digestive tract require different pH levels.
Sodium bicarbonate helps decrease the acid in your small intestine, which increases the pH and supports important digestive enzymes. If I needed to take enzymes, I would also take baking soda to help activate the enzymes.
Baking soda may also be helpful in certain cases for people with acid reflux or heartburn. However, it shouldn’t be taken often or over a long period of time.
Chronic consumption of baking soda can lead to certain side effects, including:
    • Bloating
    • Gas
    • Acid rebound
A better remedy for acid reflux or heartburn might be betaine hydrochloride or apple cider vinegar. This is because the typical root cause of these issues is actually a lack of stomach acid.
But, if someone has an ulcer or gastritis, betaine hydrochloride or apple cider vinegar will cause irritation. In these situations, baking soda might provide some relief.
Some interesting research is even being done on sodium bicarbonate for cancer.
Baking soda may also be beneficial for:
    • Skin allergies
    • Sinus problems
    • Gout attacks
    • Improving athletic performance
Overall, baking soda is a great potential remedy for certain problems. However, it’s also important to ask yourself why you need to take a natural remedy in the first place and work to fix the root cause of the issue.

Important to know. There is one more thing to add to your list. Sodium bicarbonate is the best treatment I have ever used for my breathing issues. Baking soda saved my life when I got pneumonia from Covid 19.
I was coughing so bad, and my sinuses were completely clogged. I was so scared of going to the hospital because of the pandemic. So I thought I would go to the pharmacy and get some nasal spray. But then I remembered that the more you use nasal spray the faster you get clogged back up. So I thought about making my own nasal spray and I checked for a list of ingredients to make it, but I didn’t have any distilled water. So I thought about what I could do. Then I remembered that my dad was using a dry powder inhaler for his COPD. So at that moment my thought switched from salt to sodium bicarbonate because the fine granules would be easy to breathe in. So I went to my cabinet and grabbed my arm and hammer baking soda, and I put some in the palm of my hand. Then I started with a small pinch of baking soda between my index finger and thumb. Then I sniffed that small pinch one for each nostril and one for my throat, after I did just one treatment I did not have to treat myself again for 5 days. With in one minute of the treatment I was able to blow my nose for the first time in over a week, and I was able to cough up most of the mucus that was stuck in my throat. After doing some research, I found out that sodium bicarbonate removed mucus from the lungs better than saline solution. Also I found out it is important to not accidentally sniff too much at once…. Use small pinches and do two treatments in a row for best results… Results can last weeks and even months… Not Just 12 hours or less. I hope this information helps to save lives…. God Bless America.

The true benefit of baking soda is not its ability to alkalize but rather its profound candida crushing properties. It's abilities in this regard are actually documented as being a phenomenon. I was dealing with candida overgrowth in my gut, mouth, and sinuses and was able to restore the health of these microbiomes with not only essential oils such as tea tree and peppermint but also a strong baking soda and water mixture.
My dental hygienist and dentist were astounded at the health of my gums in just one month time.

@@bobbyarora3113 for my gut I laid off eating most sugars and I take oil of peppermint pills, apple cider vinegar pills, and a couple teaspoons of manuka honey always on an empty stomach and with very little water and also oil of oregano pills for 10 days like a round of antibiotics. Then before meals drink about 4 oz of water with a half teaspoon baking soda.
For my mouth I brush my teeth with unrefined coconut oil and I rinse with a solution of 2 oz water, half teaspoon baking soda, 1 tsp avocado oil, 6 drops peppermint oil, three drops tea tree oil and about a half teaspoon of pink Himalayan salt, I swish with that for a couple minutes then I leave it in my mouth for about 10 minutes before I rinse it.
For my sinuses, are using NeilMed Sinus Rinse bottle with their Sinus Rinse packets which are baking soda and salt and once I make the solution I put in about 1/2 teaspoon of avocado oil, or drop peppermint oil and two drops tea tree oil and my sinuses love it.

@@comfortkareem8533 you are most welcome my friend.
When I'm attacking candida overgrowth in the gut, about 20 minutes before every meal, I will drop either an oil of oregano pill, oil of peppermint pill, apple cider vinegar pill, or 2 tsp of manuka honey.
I try to keep all four of these revolving throughout the day, helps keep the bugs from getting used to anything. Also 1/4 to 1/2 tsp baking soda per gallon of distilled water, drink at least a half gallon everyday but drink very little when you take your pills so they're not diluted in the gut.
Then of course in addition to doubling up on probiotics, lay off as many sugars and carbs as possible, get plenty of electrolytes, which I like to get through salad, lots of leafy greens & cucumbers, red bell peppers, mushrooms, etc, and get as great of a variety of fermented foods in your diet as possible, I've actually grown a taste for stir-fried kimchi, it really didn't take much since I love cabbage so much but nonetheless I never seen myself eating kimchi.
Before I start my 10-day cycle of essential oils, ACV, and manuka honey, I like to do a 3 day bone broth fast. It will starve the candida out before blasting them.
I hope this helps, my friend!

He would always forget where he left his keys, where he parked his car in a parking lot, why he walked into a room to get something and then couldn't remember why he went in there in the 1st place, etc. He talked about making a drink with a half teaspoon of baking soda, 1 cup hot water to dissolve it and a little lemon and honey. He said after a few weeks, he started remembering those things I mentioned above. I don't remember how many times he drank it in a day or if he drank it on an empty stomach or not, I don't know. Yogurt contains lots of sugars & corn syrup, very unhealthy. The only healthier version is Kefir, made with grains at home or if you hav access to raw cowsmilk or goat milk (in the US its nearly impossible)you can make raw yogurt. But wen I had SIBO, I could not consume ANY probiotics (any, except cabbage) without getting very sick. I had to get rid of the SIBO first.

I like this video and learned many benefits about baking soda. I already do use it occasionally for stomach or abdominal pain. But I'll only use 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon in 4 ounces of distilled water. It works quickly and you only have to take it once. My only criticism on this video is that you only display a heaping teaspoon of baking soda several times without ever clarifying how much you may use per solution. It would be beneficial if you could address this issue.

I use baking soda to neutralize water. Spring water you buy at the store has a PH of about 7 which is perfect. "Any" filtered or purified water done at home or bought from a store is acidic and has a PH of around 6. I always neutralize that water with baking soda to 7 to 7.2. I have mentioned this in comments before, and it has basically been ignored, but I think it is important. Not everyone, apparently, reacts the same to apple cider vinegar. I have heard so many times that apple cider vinegar helps acid reflux. gerd, and heartburn. But I have tried it a number of times...sometimes for as long as a week. Every day that I took apple cider vinegar y heartburn and acid reflux got worse than the previous day. It got so unbearable that I just had to stop. It was worse at night when I laid down sleep. Sometimes, my whole chest hurt, and sometimes liguid came up into my mouth from my stomach. Sometimes what came up was mild, and sometimes it was really harsh and burns the back of my throat. If I eat certain acidic foods like tomato based foods, it gets worse. It still happens occasionally, but I have to be very careful what I eat or drink. When it does happen, milk or water with baking soda in it, are the only things that help. ACV actually makes it worse, like I already said. What you and others have said about ACV does indeed make sense, but I guess nothing works for everyone.

But when I take ACV, my heartburn and acid reflux gets worse each day than it was the day before. The last time, I tried to endure it for a whole week, and that is how I found out it gets worse every day. It got so unbearable that I couldn't even sleep at night. Excruciating pain in my chest and burning my esophagus and the back of my throat. The agony didn't stop for at least a couple of days after I stopped with the ACV. I had to take baking soda in water and drink milk to get any relief or sleep at all. I take vitamin C and vitamin D3, and eat as healthy as I can, and I almost never get sick. On those very rare occasions when I get a cold it is very mild and goes away quickly. I can't even remember the last time I got the flu, either. I will be turning 69 this year.

You're not alone! I cannot tolerate ACV either. And tomatoes or any of the other foods in the Nightshade family irritate my stomach as well. Baking soda has made all the difference. I take it in the morning & before bed & no longer have acid issues. When I would travel by air, I would encapsulate baking soda into capsules & put them in a medicine bottle. I figured the airlines frowned upon bringing unknown white powders thru security... But by putting the baking soda in capsules, I was ready for any acid attacks while away from home.

Hello Dr.Berg. I didn't understand some moments. If I want to help enzymes to work, I need to make more alkaline environment in my duodenum. Then seems I should drink soda in capsules? Because soda will react with acid in my stomach and it won't go to the duodenum? How drinking soda changes environment i duodenum? Or it happens, that stomach content becomes not so acid, and in this way it helps for easier digestion in duodenum?

Baking soda is a great remedy. I learned about its importance from a woman who survived the 1918 pandemic. Works wonders

I’m on a GLP-1 and I have terrible nausea and upset stomach. Bicarbonate soda seems to make my stomach feel so much better. Is it safe to take along side a GLP-1? Thank you 🙏

I take a bit, pinch with my water or say lemonade, I no longer have tummy issues doing this, the tummy pretty much kills off most things that get there, all those vitamins, health drinks etc..drinking lots of water and pinch of pink or Celtic salt once a day. Most people are dehydrated and do not know it. I test my PH everyday, its good.

Is it okay to use baking soda while cooking? Does it still give benefits or is not good?

I've been brushing with an extra soft brush + baking soda in the mornings for over 6 months every day - enamel will suffer. When I stopped, within days my teeth sensitivity decreased. Now I still use it to brush but dissolve it in water in my mouth first, just to neutralize acids
