I purchased this Oris Big Crown 3 watch at an auction for $200, listed as "Defective, non working". Despite the rusty dial, I had a feeling it could turn out to be a beautiful timepiece. Upon opening it, I found some rusted parts, but to my surprise, I got lucky-only a few components were rusted and beyond repair, keeping the overall repair cost quite low. During the restoration, one of my followers, @maurogomez4223, commented on the community page: “Alan Grant likes this watch!”. Curious, I looked it up and was surprised to discover that Alan Grant indeed wears this exact watch in Jurassic Park 3! In the end, the watch turned out beautifully and keeps time perfectly as well! I hope you enjoy the result! Many thanks for watching!
Incredible save on this chunk of a tool watch! Gorgeous renewal. The part availability for the venerable ETA 2836 made replacements easy. I assume you did a pressure test on the case and found it satisfactory. I'm subscribed to many watch service and restoration channels and your skill set is equal to or surpasses many of the professionals who make a living doing this. Bravo...I'd love to own that watch!
Very kind words sir, many thanks for that! Indeed easy and cheap parts to get :). The watch is just rain resistant, not depth. Would like to have the one with real pressure seal.
@@Watcheyes Oh I see no depth rating on the dial. Does it have a screw down crown? Are you saying there's a version that's more resistant to water ingress? I guess this is considered more of an aviation watch.
Hello, It's from DIYwatchcleaner. They sell the design and build manually. 3d print parts yourselves or buy them printed externally. And the manually says all parts to buy and build it. Quite simple and the machine works very well, better than the rest for this price around 500 USdollars.
Oris caliber? Lol, why did it say eta 2836-2 under the balance? Lol. Cuz oris is garbage and they used pin lever escapements until switching to off the shelf generic eta movements and then just now about a few years ago they finally made another in house movement. One, one in house movement, that looks like a teddy bear head and isn’t decorated at all, and I mean at all, zero decoration and they charge five grand for any watch with that movement in it and. What a joke! I’d rather buy a used Rolex for five grand over a new oris for five grand. Smh. Some ppl are just too unintelligent and either that’s you too or you just spreading misinformation . One of the two.
To make it more easy to follow I just mentioned oris 635. Ofc it's eta 2836-2 as mentioned in the titel :). Aha, sounds weird about the price of their own movement. For 5 grand I would also get a Rolex instead, solid stuffs!
Great work. Don't be shy to talk thru a bit of brand history. I really don't get this asBS trend. Please ditch the time consuming subtitles and speak up.

@@MrCrystalcranium No screw down. I think they have this Oris big crown 3 for more depth, not sure but just from my memory.
Very cool, in the end look like a new watch.
Many thanks! :) Have a good evening!
Now all you need is a laser welding machine for your arsenal . Great restoration video
Haha indeed I need that 😅 Many thanks for your comment.
Bravo, amazing case and hands restoration work! 💪🏻
Hi there Watchresto, nice to see you again 😊 Many thanks!
Piękny zegarek. Wspaniała praca!😊
Looks better on a leather strap, like Jurassic Park. Great overhaul!
Aha, I might order one then, I like leather better also because it's lighter, good tips! Many thanks 😊
A true master.
Many thanks 😃 glad you liked it.
I like your meticulous and careful way of working. The video is amazing 😘😘😘
Many thanks for your kind words 😊 🙏 have a good day!

Awesome work 👊🏽
Excellent work sir!!!👌🏻
Excellent as always. I love watching you work, it's so calming after a hard day. What did you do with watch after restoration, sell it or keep it?
Love ORIS Top job & subbed
Glad you liked it and welcome to my channel 😀 😊
Super!
Thank you :)
I like your work and videos on them a lot: 👍👌👏!
Bravo!
It seems the cannon pinion is not press fit but it's loose. Isn't that a problem?
Great question, it's not press fit on ETA, it's a friction wheel outside of the cannon that can slip instead. 🙂
Great job, but why are you using a screwdriver to unscrew (damage)
the screws?
Thank you, which part do you mean in the video?
@@Watcheyes 20:41 and next, you damage the screws, the screwdriver is not suitable.
👍👍👍👍👍
Did you 3D print your own cleaning machine?

PLEASE. How many hours?
Hello Robert, how many hours of what? :)
I appreciate the work and the video, but the movement is unappealing. The baseplate, some of the wheels are poorly finished. What’s wrong with ETA?
Thank you sir! Yes not the highest finish but stil can keep time perfectly 👌

@xekret Yes, many like this format, myself too.
