    I did this job in my Fiat Palio 1996, petrol engine with 100.000 km. I used STP Flush instead. But exactly like this video: added STP Flush inside the engine with the old oil, 20 min running, replacing the oil for a cheap one with new filter, again 30 min running and then, refil with the better oil. It was incredible, even after 2.000 km the oil was clear!

      That's why I love petrol engines, oil in diesel engines gets black right away

      @@arcgarage yes! I used to live in Brazil, where cars have only gasoline and ethanol engines. If you use ethanol, then you can run more than 5.000 km and the oil still looks clear! Now I am in Europe and I bought a diesel car. God dammed! You change oil and, 100 km after, it seems that the oil has 20.000 km!

    I use a piece of cardboard to direct the oil draining away from the subframe into my waste oil basin. Thanks for sharing. Very interesting

    You better clean this engine/subframe mount quickly. Oil is highly destructive for all rubber elements. And those mounts are not cheap and easily available, trust me. Regards from Poland!

      @@arcgarage Spectacular car. Especially with the sport throttle response, the sound was miraculous and the car itself, a proper sport berlina. Mine was blue/black with grey leather interior. I truly love n/a busso, but the turbo charged V6 was a diamond. I also prefer the front of the phase 1.

    Thanks for the demo. One question though, could I use a 10W-40 (Total 7000) semi synthetic oil for just flushing the engine that normally uses a fully synthetic 5W-30 (Total Ineo ECS)? I have a 5l semi synthetic in my garage that I once wrongly bought. I drive a 2008 Citroen C5 2.0 HDI, 100kW.

    Great job with these videos - these are very valuable. I hope you get more views as it's without question many people can really use the tips you show.
    One question: do you think it would be risky to do this flush on a Multiair engine? I mean, it seems clean oil passages would be very useful for the system, but a flush could also cause issues maybe. What's your take on that? Thanks.

    Hello, I want to do this on my AR 156 2.0 TS. And I just want to ask you, the cheaper oil for drain has to be same viscosity like the new? For example I use to drive with 10w60 so the cheaper drain oil has to be also 10w60?

  • @josephbrown3647
    @josephbrown3647 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Planning on doing a double flush like what you've just shown. With the cheap oil is it a good idea to rev up the engine for 10-15mins or just let it idle? Also is there a reason why you don't rev engine when using engine flush? Even if it's only 1.5 or 2 rpm? Wouldn't it help the flush get into deeper parts of the engine if its rev up a little bit?

    • @arcgarage
      @arcgarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      I followed the instructions, and I let the car idle. However, when I put the cheap oil in I did rev it up a bit

    • @aracistpriest6121
      @aracistpriest6121 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      the engine flush makes the oil more watery, its recommended to only let it idle because the oil does not provide enough protection. With cheaper oil and without the engine flush its ok to rev the engine up a bit, or take it to a drive

    If you were to run the engine again and drain some from the sump, you'd see it's still dirty, better, but still dirty. But not enough to warrent two flushes.
