I had no idea the Reigis were in this Game! I knew Regigigtas is, and I thought the only way to get him was to trade the 3 other Reigis from Ruby Sapphire and Emerald to get him!

I kinda jumped for 40min without any idea of what I was doing but then somehow got to giratina
i got so bored of it i got a quagsire to level 100. i also reset my game.

I always loved how mysterious and eerie each encounter was. The music was incredible in creating a sense of importance or dread, like the player was messing with forces beyond comprehension. The glowing white staircase that raises up to the god pokemon was genius.
@Roger Loe That's not just Sword and Shield, it's been like that since Black and White (with the exception of Victini).
Yeah they really made the legendary Pokémon encounters feel epic in this game and the later 2D ones
Sinnoh had the best ost by far.

If you pay attention, he was fully aware he missed the Gentleman and Socialite on his way to the Mansion for Manaphy's Seen entry. He slowed down so the Gentleman wouldn't focus on him as he ran past.

@Steven Turner hah ever since 2011 i refused to use my master ball and been going on pokeball only exept with shiny where i'd use premier balls, the kyogre in a net ball is my biggest shame

This is what legendary hunting should be. I love that finding each legendary makes you feel like you truly went on a journey or puzzle to find. I loved ORAS but I always hated the fact that almost all the legendaries felt like they were just popping right in front of my face with no challenge to find them at all. The recent pokemon dlc make it feel the same way.
There is a challenge to find them, you just looked it up on TH-cam

Well since there were so many of those legendaries I can see why the creators didn't want to make it too challenging to find them.

This distortion world is nothing short than a masterpiece from the melody, puzzle, and it’s unending feeling.
Platinum had the absolute best soundtrack for me
The Distortion World is geographically and visually one of the best areas in all of pokemon, even today.
Pokémon heart gold & soul silver had the best soundtrack
The songs always carried such tone and mood that most other gens cant compare to.
Tied with the hoenn and jhoto games for me

Nothing was ever more confusing to me than needing the Regi Trio to catch Regigigas but needing Regigigas to catch the Regi trio.

@@Simplifried you need a level 100 regigigas obtainable through event by which 3 Regis will appear and after you encounter those 3 Regis is when you will face a level 1 Regigigas

@@scy07 It was designed that you use Pal Park to transfer the 3 Regis from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald and take those to get the level 1 Regigigas.
Using the azure flute in that one time event and meeting arceus was such an incredible and surreal feeling. Being able to battle and catch probably the rarest and most powerful Pokémon of that time was like being in a dream.
Certainly. Thanks to a friend, both of us were able to get the Azure Flute to meet and catch Arceus.
We caught the others too, and then... we battled after a few days.
I did not stand a chance against his Flying-type Arceus. Not even Dialga's Roar of Time could beat it.
And so, my whole team was obliterated.
Definitely, it brings back many memories.

@@aperson18yearsold16 i think there is a false swipe tm somewhere, you can teach your pokemon flase swipe and paralyze regigigas, pretty easy battle
So this is why I always thought Rotom was a legendary before, he even literally has the legendary battle music
He 100% IS a legendary Pokemon in gen 4, but they for some weird reason changed that later so he no longer is
I guess it was a rare Pokemon, then one day they became common so it was no longer seen as legendary idk
volcarona also got mistaken for a legendary
actually it was never a legendary.
edit a year later: let me elaborate. one big part of it not being a legendary is that you could breed it from the start. they were common as soon as a player caught one and bred it to send to other people or to have multiples of. GameFreak also never said specifically that rotom was a legendary pokemon.
Rotom i still think should be a legendary but volcarona was never a legend
James Perrott I’m late but it was NEVER a legendary Pokémon. 1.) Not all legendary Pokémon have special music. 2.) Just because there is only one rotom in D/P/Pt doesn’t mean there’s only 1, you learn later in the series that there is more than one rotom. 3.) Legendary/Mythical Pokemon goes based off of stats. Rotom’s stats are that of a normal Pokemon, not a legendary.
The same is for shaymin and Darkrai there are more than one of them they're just extremely rare

This gen has by far the best themes/music.
I absolutely love this game. Gen 4 is one of my favorites besides Gen 5, but have you ever thought about how creepy and mysterious this game is? I mean, between the legendary's epic music and the side-stories (like de Cresselia/Darkrai one) to Giratina jumping "off-screen". Also, you have to solve all this puzzles in order to find them all. I think the new games lack some of this stuff.
Not to mention having a Pokémon literally jump out of a tv set in a haunted chateau

Fun fact, Newmoon Island is a physical location on the map and if you have a "walk through walls"/noclip cheat you can just walk there. It's to the Northeast of the port town the event starts in.
Man I loved so many of these legendary areas you had to travel thru to get to the Pokémon like I remember doing the Giratina maze and getting to him and you see his huge shadow appear in front of you with the music it truly made you feel like you were facing a legendary being..

THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO THIS GAME THAN I REMEMBER! I mean I was 5 when it came out, but I had no clue how many legendary pokemon were in it omg
If nothing else, you using mean look is the best thing I’ve taken from this tutorial to keep the moving legendaries in one place
Seeing all these uniques tasks and levels with so many wild physics that I would never think to see in a Pokemon game makes me wonder why GameFreak does not incorporate things like this in the switch titles. So many wild things to work with that would feel fresh and new to players in today's age. The hardware would make it look great as well.

Back when Pokemon games were challenging and had a memorable storyline. After gen 5 I feel like the series has just been dull and even worse now that they cut the national dex from sword and shield

I think it would've been neat if the lake guardians had unique quirks to their battle correlating to their curses.
-Mesprit would dodge all contact attacks, as touching Mesprit saps you of your emotions
-Dealing direct damage to Azelf paralyzes your pokemon, as harming Azelf will remove your ability to control your body.
-Uxie is kinda tricky. Maybe landing a crit would distable that move for the match, because looking into Uxie's eyes wipes your memory?
Shaymin is legit my favourite legendary. It's so cute and smol and it comes from a pretty place.

Genuinely miss the sense of my own Pokémon helping me through challenges and new areas.
I legitimately hate that I can't use Dig to escape Tunnels, Teleport to return to a Pokémon Center, Sweet Scent to attract Wild Pokémon or anything else of the sort because HMs were removed.
I know that those moves themselves weren't HMs but they lost their field purpose when HMs were removed. Fly, Surf, Strength, Waterfall, Dive, Defog and Rock Climb were also all half-decent moves in battle and had a field effect that was actually useful.
The legitimate problem was the inability to delete them, and Cut, Flash and Rock Smash having HM status at one time or another.
An easy fix in that case is: Make Cut a TM with a field purpose.
Flash and Rock Smash should also be TMs with a field purpose as they were in XY.
How to solve the issue of progressing without facing the Gym for permission to use it outside of battle?
Don't use those objects as obstacles to halt progress or have it so that you still require a Gym Badge to use certain field moves.
They made it much more awkward than it was originally.
I am new to Pokémon and someone told me that if a Pokémon can learn any HM’s it’s the best Pokémon to use. So I used my pink flying cat and his dad to use HM’s. If I need to change anything please say :)

Platinum is probably my 3rd favorite Pokémon game after Heart Gold and the entire Gen 5.
My dream is to see Arceus return in all its glory, not that is not glorious already, it is a glorious pokémon.

You can catch darkai by glitching the game but on diamond and pearl

I’m doing a Nuzlocke, so my Pokémon are Torterra, Staraptor, Luxuray, Gallade, Gyrrados, and an interswappable 6th spot. When traveling, it’s mainly my Bibarel HM slave, but otherwise, it’d be machop or ponytail (both of which I obviously need to grind up.

I will always feel so lucky to have captured a Giratina with a single poke ball :). Platinum is such a good game that when I heard they were making remakes for DP I was hoping that game wouldn’t have gotten touched!

Almost the same team but I have Crobat and Vaporeon in trade of Staraptor and Floatzel. And if not, I'll trade Vaporeon and Garchomp for Gastrodon and get myself either Gardevoir or Gallade.
