In this video I restore a Mid Century style teak sideboard for a customer, it was taken back to bare wood restrained and a new finish applied. The results are beautiful.
I tried something new in this video with me talking through what I was doing, instead of the captions, let me know if you prefer this or the old style.

The darker stain really helped the lighter wood come into its own with this piece. I really enjoyed having you narrate! I vote stick with it 😊I'm not sure about the scrap wood . . . maybe some really cool birdhouses?
Awesome! Thank you!
Excellent video! Renaissance Wax is a great product, I’ve used it in conservation work. It also helps silver jewelry to not tarnish.
Thanks for the tip! 👍
I know this style and the light wood is in keeping with the original design. Looks great fit for any home. You’ve got a lucky customer. Keep up the great vids.
Thanks 👍
Beautiful job! Stunning wood grain. I have to agree the lighter board on the front is just weird (handles are Ok though). Not sure why that design, but you work with what you have - and WOW did you knock it out if the park! 💥😀❣️
Thank you very much!
It turned out beautiful. Love the dark stain with the lighter wood color. Well done sir.
Thank you very much!
How about making a birdhouse or bird feeder, a jewelry box or a keepsake box, maybe a cutting board.
👍
Try taking bottom hinge off first on the door, worth a try Mate !!!.
yeah did try that, I was hoping the whole door would drop out but alas no! 😂
Don't make anything with the scraps...sell them for gun grip scales then go buy a bench top buffer.
A project with the teak wood could be a garden fence.
I wish you’d allow closed captioning so I can understand what you’re saying….
thanks for the feedback, I’ll look into that, it’s the first time I’ve talked over a video so didn’t realise. 👍
Lovely 😊
Thank you! 😊
Good job Mate, sure they will like it have a nice day !!!. 😀😃👍👍.
Thanks 👍, I hope they do! 😀
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Take the top off and then the door screws are out in the open?
yes did try that, I think it must have been glued 😂
Lovely
Wow! What a beauty!
thank you 😀
Great job!
Thanks!
I have to say, I'm not a fan of the lighter wood on this, personally speaking. At the end of the day, if the customer is happy then it's a job well done!
yes I can understand that, their is quite a contrast between the two and not to everyone’s taste
Try using isopropyl alcohol instead of methylated denatured alcohol.
Thanks, I’ll look into it 👍
Very beautiful wood grain! Looks gorgeous! Great job! 😊
Make an out door plant stand with the scrap real wood.
