What do you guys think of the Vivobook S14? I think for $849 OLED + an Intel Core Ultra 9 is not bad at all.

Very nice. But what about AMD modification? With Ryzen 9 8945 hs 32gb of ram. This year ASUS for Zenbooks and Vivobooks has give us a choice between Intel and amd, there is zenbooks with intel or amd and vivobooks with intel or amd. It will be great to see AMD versions and compere them.

An ultra 7 would've been more than enough, this laptop won't squeeze all the power from the ultra 9 but for that price I can't complain.

@@MatthewMoniz Trade i7 for i9 and then add 3K OLED 120Hz. That's the Asus Vivobook 15S for $749 at Walmart.
@@DEMinSoCAL if the numberpads wasn't there I would've bought it instantly, the off centered typing is too much of a deal breaker for me from someone who came from using older macs
I know it's hard to complain for the price, but I would trade the Ultra 9 for an Ultra 7 if I could have gotten a 120hz display along with it....that would have made so much of a bigger difference in everyday utility.
Can someone please review the 16 inch of this? It is literally (one of) the only one that is 16 inch and really lightweight! Im really eyeing it but I cannot find any review! ( I'm looking at you, Matthew lol)

I have just picked up my unit 14 inch S5406 (Ultra 7) 2 days ago, in Mist Blue color ;)
I like the blue backlighting and I won't sweat the speakers.
For the price, this looks great!
My wife had a friend whose husband imported laptops.
He said for ling life and reliability you can't beat Toshiba and ASUS.

Toshiba is widely regarded as trash circa 2015.
Just got this laptop a few days ago, battery life is great, 10hrs easily, that was really surprising. Display looks amazing for the price. I always shop in that price range, and this definitely stands out.
I have the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 with Core Ultra 7 and it costed me around 99k here in india and im so much impressed with the battery life, speaker and display.
I wanted something powerful yet portable. I went for this since the Vivobook S14 wasn't available here. Im so satisfied with the choice
I didnt bother much about the dGPU as i have another gaming laptop.
Major issue is the unstable early drivers for Arc graphics
If i'm not mistaken, it should not only blue backlight, it's should be a RGB backlight keyboard, so you should be able to custom the color, but yeah, only single zone
it is rgb. It is blue by default. You can change it to any color.
You do know you can choose what color you want on the backlight right?
OLED is nice and all...but if you're spending $900 on a laptop with no dGPU in it, just for a nice display, why not go for an HP Pavilion Plus 14 with AMD? 8845HS + 16GB + 1TB + 2880x1800 OLED display for $889.99 currently. You could even spec it up to have 32GB which is non-upgradeable in either of these laptops, although it's an extra $150. If you can afford to trim the storage (maybe you have an external SSD and don't need as much internal storage space?) then the 8845HS + 32GB + 512GB + 2880x1800 OLED display spec is $920.

F* it, i got my Vivobook Pro 14 OLED with 5600H+RTX 3050 with 16gb ram for only $669,, and it still has better power even tho it is a couple generation behind,,
You’d spend 1500 on a Mac with no dGPU. Your argument is invalid as not everyone wants or cares about dGPU.
Intel is better for productivity and HP's build quality and QC are suspect.

Not sure why reviewers rush through products without properly reviewing them. This feature is on the white paper and it's always been touted as a prominent feature for an otherwise basic laptop series (literally states single-zone RGB on the features list).
That said, this year's Vivobooks are finally really good laptops. The AMD version is the one worth waiting for, which should be on sale very shortly.
Only issue with the Unstable drivers as they're very new.
A driver can break ur performance.
I had issue with video playback on battery . Which was fixed after an update

Is that a RGB backlight set to blue by default or it is a " non RGB blue backlight keyboard "
staple has the 16inch version
3200 x 2000 for 899, and you get 15% with Rakuten now. The problem is that it’s running out if stock
65wh battery with core ultra 7 gives around 6-8 hours of rough use. And over 9 hours of casual use.
I wish if They had a 75+ wh option. Sadly lenovo didn't offer at the time i bought the Yoga

A solid mid-range ultrabook, and for many mid-range is the way to go due to premium Windows machines now being close to double this in price (XPS 14, LG Gram 14, Galaxy Book4 Pro 14, Surface Laptop 6, etc).
Glad you pointed out that these benchmark battery tests do not represent real life and I can understand why Windows OEMs like them being used as they do overplay the battery SOT. I usually discount by 33% but with the caveat that higher brightness can drain that time even further.
Good bang for your bucks but I have seen the MB Air M2 13-inch for only a little bit more and if like me you use your ultrabook for casual work meaning 8GB/256GB is enought, then I would still choose the Mac. But there is a good reason Windows has a natural monopoly, the reluctance of people to move OS'es so in Windows-land the Vivobook S14 is shortlist material.
Yeah, there needs to be a more reliable battery test suite :l
I don't understand how a 185H would underperform a 155H if properly cooled.

The keyboard is RGB so you can change to white if you want according to the ASUS site.
I was thinking about this as well. The one with a TN 1920x1200 screen with 128 mega bytes.

@@mrbobgamingmemes9558 I have no problem with TN panels. Especially the matte type. TN panels are environmentally friendly, inexpensive and offer good refresh rates. IPS has the annoying reflections. I hate that and they produce annoying white spots that don't go away.
Thanks for sharing....just picked up a Galaxybook 3 Pro.....comes with the pen and its feature filled. If your not a gamer you can't beat ALL the features and the pen.

Dell Inspiron 16 vs ASUS Vivobook s16, which would you go for? Price-wise similar.
I ordered the AMD 16" version of this, suppose to be delivered on Friday. I'm hoping I can swap the SSD in that one just like the Intel one. But on Asus website it says "up to 1TB" for the m5606
does it have 32GB RAM option?
I used to have an acer laptop and I contacted them for the max SSD limit and they said up to 2tb. I then bought a 4tb ssd and put it in and its working fine 2 years later.
I think the up to amount is not the theoretical max but what they're willing to ship it with so you should be fine. Btw the 4tb is on a laptop with an 8th gen intel u series low power CPU so I think you should be fine.
Did you get one with 32gb ram? That's what I'm interested in and whether its 3.2k oled at 120hz and then what you paid for this. Thanks in advance.
Review the vivobook S15 with 155h in walmart for 750. 16gb, 1tb, 2880x1620 display 120hz. I am on the fence thinking about it.

I really want to see something like Dell XPS 16 but for asus with Zenbook in name, with f-keys function row, something like 16\32ram, 512+rom, 2.5k oled, core ultra 5\7, nvidia 4050\60\70, 2 decent fans (not like in zenbook 14 this year), 2 thunderbolts, wifi7, bt 5.4, and extra m.2 slot would be great. And price starts at 1500$ for 16\512\ultra5\4050

Apart from the laptop itself, is it just me or the Copilot keycap is kinda unnecessary and more of a marketing thingy? I mean we can still access Copilot by just one or two clicks.

US prices are confusing to me. I have the Vivobook 14 pro model with a 3060gpu and the R7 6800HS, 16GB, 90Hz refresh rate, oled 2.8k - for the exact same price in China, official Asus shop.
32GB RAM option would be nice.
I just wish asus will give this Vivobook option to upgrade the ram to 32GB because i afraid 16GB will not be enough in the long term

If this was this price with like an Ultra 5 125H/ Ryzen 7 8845H with a 2.5k 120Hz OLED screen it'd be a GOAT level thin-and-light, but 1200p is meh, and 60Hz really hurts

Just got one from Amazon. Will be testing Forza Horizon 4 on it today. Am betting that the game will crash. That seems to happen on every Core Ultra + ARC graphics laptop I have tested recently.

Every Vivobook model that I've seen is 65% sRGB. Using OLED on a productivity laptop is out of touch...

for the price of an equal spec macbook you could just buy a new vivobook if it breaks, but even if you still payed the extra for a macbook apple will only fix it if you have apple care, and for the extra price of that you could also get a warrenty for the vivobook
