Hey Brian, considering a Minn Kota Terrova or Ultrex to replace my Powerdrive. The only reason I'm considering the Ultrex is the issue of mounting an external transducer (either LIVESCOPE Plus or the transducer that comes with the GARMIN ECHOMAP UHD 95sv) to the Terrova with the lift assist and stow away system where the trolling motor shaft raises to go into the stow position and the motor turning while using spot lock. I am mainly a Bass fisherman up here in Ontario Canada, mostly shallow water anywhere from 2-20ft deep. Is there a mounting system you would recommend? Would you do trolling motor mount or a pole mount like your DIY pole or another pole mount? Thx!
None of the above. Stick to your transducer on the transom and link your console and bow graph so they share the transducer. Or, get a Terrova that has down imaging built in. Ultrex is garbage as far as I’m concerned, running an external transducer on a Terrova is a pain, so that leaves you with getting a unit that has a built in transducer, or networking your bow and console units to share the transducer on the transom.
@@KansasAnglingExperience even if I go LIVESCOPE PLUS? You wouldn't mount the LP+ transducer on a pole up at the bow? I don't think a Garmin can use a MEGA Down built into the Terrova, just the Universal 2D transducer.
