The more info the better. At what point do you splice the 8 gage to each unit. The cables that come with the units are fairly long, I coil them up next to my dedicated Lithium in bow next to my 9 & 10 livescopes. Thanks
Great information. I haven't had much time to play with mine yet but I am slowly figuring it out. When I ran the wires for it I did what everybody said and ran 8 gauge wire. But the power cable that comes with the black box has 14 gauge wire. So I don't quite understand that. On my Hobbie pedal drive kayak I have an echomap ultra 106sv, steady cast, LVS34 system all powered by a Amped Outdoors 32ah16.8v lithium battery. I did all wiring & rigging myself. The thicker gauge has less voltage drop over longer distances than thinner wire. A better idea is to put the battery closer to the unit. Shorter the wiring harness the better the voltage. Less drop in voltage. Clean power makes a difference with Garmin. I'm not sure about Lowrance or Hummingbird.

You do not need a $2700 battery. Just get a 125ah Ionic lithium battery for $800.00 to run your starter battery and all your electronics. This is what I do, and I have a crystal clear screen and can fish all day running 4 graphs, two live well pumps. Most I have used is 25% percent of battery. They are also blue tooth so that you can monitor battery off your phone.
@@CAN43715I actually just ordered my ionic 125ah today. Do you mind sharing how yours is all hooked up? I'm going to have to unhook the wiring from my onboard charger. I bought the ionic charger for just this battery. Is there anything different with the engines alternator charging one up
I am using a norco 3 bank charger with two 100ah ionic batteries for trolling motor and one 125 ah ionic battery for electronics and motor. The 125ah ionic is connected to a 2004 150 hp 4 stroke yamaha. The BMS on the 125ah is made to handle the engines alternator. How is this great? This technology is too good. What happens as this gets more affordable and everyone is using it? Is it really fishing then, or just catching? The bass and other species stocks are going to take a huge hit when this gets popular and affordable. Pros using this in tournaments is a huge problem as well. Has anyone watched MLF or the Elite series on TV when they are using forward facing sonar? It is like watching paint dry! All you see is a bunch of guys on the bow of their bass boats watching their screens all day. This technology should be banned! This is video game fishing. It isn't fun! I don't blame Jason for this. Garmin is one of his sponsors. He has no choice but to promote this crap.
It already is affordable. It’s 1500 dollars. It’s the cheapest thing in bass fishing. Fishing with live is way more fun than fishing without it especially for smallmout
I must say, Jason has been such an amazing, instinctive angler that I’ve watched throughout his career. BUT, to be honest, I find it rather STRANGE to watch such a top caliber angler talk about spotlighting! We all know if your not scoping you’re hoping in most scenarios in this day and age! I just find it kinda sad! Jason has such an edge fishing on instinct (before spot lighting)! I don’t care what anyone says, Scoping has Fd up the sport! Of course Jason is sponsored by Garmin, and he knows that you have to get with the program or get left behind! In my mind, true instinctive angling will keep regressing with this video game BS! Once viewership tanks because of spotlighting, hopefully it’ll be banned from Elite events!?
It’s here to stay in my opinion. I don’t have strong feelings one way or the other surrounding the debate. They have to figure out another way to make the sport more interesting to the spectators.
And you’re watching the pro going over his live scope set up that he uses to make a living and you’re sitting at home watching him saying he doesn’t know how to fish? When everyone else uses it they are simply using the latest technology for bass fishing. Idk why Randy B. Calls it cheating and compares it to spotlighting deer which is very much illegal and he needs to stop with that because they’re nowhere near the same thing, they will confiscate everything you own that’s hunting related and hit you with a hefty fine. No rules have been broken yet and it’s not illegal and it’s also not cheating.
This is why we get to watch this fellow on tv , smart folks they are.
Comes from a family of good fisherman
Appreciate the great information, truly does help the average fisherman to hear it come straight from a pro-angler! 👍🏻🇺🇸🎣

Must be nice to be able to have a 2700.00 battery in the boat to run it all off of. Im thinking of keeping a lead acid starting battery and buying a slightly smaller 100ah to 125ah battery to run my electronics just to save myself the price on batteries
I run a circuit breaker from the 125ah battery and from the circuit breaker, 8 gauge wire to the front and installed a fuse panel that I wire the black box and electronics to. I know of several others that use Ionics for their starter battery and electronics without any issues. I installed mine this spring and have had no issues so far.@@TysonEdwardsFishing
I do it all with a 125 ah battery from ionic. Less than half of $2700
@@TysonEdwardsFishingmy first year with my ionic on my 22 721 pro xp with merc 4 stroke and my alternator crapped the bed. Over 5200 rpm’s my alternator was blowing my PCM fuse in my motor. Took mercury 3 months to figure out what was going on. Since then I only use my 125 ah ionic to power just my electronics with 10 gauge wire to each graph and to black box. Seperate 1 bank 20 ah charger hooked to it. I’m not risking frying another alternator.
no offense, but you show us the demo from garmin... on water, the settings differ depending on the water density (plankton, dirt, etc.)
That battery must have a lot of Amp Hours
Why does he run two?
With two you can have the vertical forward mode and perspective mode at the same time.
8ga wire run 20feet is excessive 😅
But he’s right, ain’t no way that it’s going to suffer heating issues or voltage drop. 🤷♂️
I run 1/0 directly to my 500 amp bus bar and everything's connected directly to that. I wouldn't say 8 gauge is overdoing it in any way.
Dunno. Had a supposedly new Garmin GPS unit issued and that was 200% garbage. Kind of suspicious to event consider any garmin product at all
Coming from someone who switched from Lowrance and hummingbird 2 months ago livescope is the absolute best in FFS it absolutely incomparable.
Damn what do ya do for jobs?
True answer is....that buss is in crystal clear water lol

I didn’t think Jason would cave to the FF DESTRUCTION OF BASS FISHING……HE USE TO BE ONE OF MY FAVORITE GUYS TO WATCH LIVE….YOU COULD LEARN SO MUCH WATCHING HIM….BUT WATCHING VIDEO GAME FISHING……FORGET ABOUT IT…!!!!!
HE WAS ONE OF THE FIRST… It doesn’t make the fish bite and it still takes skill to read/understand it let alone making an accurate cast to where the fish is.
If you can watch "video game fishing" and learn some things then you should give it up.
more and more complaining every day. Just fish people… there’s a time and a place to use each technique.

@@justinoffutt7712 they just can’t help themselves
5 screens..bruh at this point you might as well just get an Xbox controller and play a video game😂😂😂
Says the kid who uses "bruh". Lol
Pathetic
@@icefisher1171 thats the most remedial response I've ever heard in my life.. 1. Im no kid 2. Bruh is a shortened slang term for brother. 3 you sound like someone who can't fish without seeing them on a screen🤷🏾♂️

Livescope=hunting a corn pile at 100 yards with a 300 WM! Get back to your roots.
If you launched your boat and crusied around for an hour and didn’t see a fish you prolly wouldn’t even make a cast!
Man you sound a little
Confused trying to explain your stuff. Or maybe you just drank a few.
In other words, you are catching instead of fishing. That isn't fun. People are generally lazy, so I can see why they like it. @@devinwillis7787
I wish the Game and Fish would Ban Livescope !
Old man yells at cloud.
Perhaps you should quit fishing and then you need not worry about it
BAN LIVESCOPE
First livescope, then fishing. Dont be an idiot.
I mean he won the classic in part due to livescope.
Yea let’s ban FFS while all the locals have it and make the pro look bad…. Great call…. U must a randy blockhead fan huh? #Clueless
He won the classic because he is a top notch pro ,,, a livescope is just a tool I would put Jason against any person in this forum hands down ,
Who pays for your elite events? Garmin humminbird and lowrance. If you think it will ever be banned your crazy
This is killing fishing in the USA. Like hunting white tail with drones. We need to get more vocal.
If you need a live scope you don't know how to fish
And there's the jealous guy.
Each to their own but livescope is like hunting deer over a corn pile no sport
Says the guy who can't afford it. Stick with your little 5 incher and and you can be the next AOY.
